5 out of 5 eggsWorking great. Ready for another

Pros: Price, these are a great value now below the 100 bones level. I payed 150 a year and a half ago, it was a smoking deal then. It is fast, quiet, and handles anything I throw at it- at a 22" resolution. (1680X1050)

It's too bad they are out of stock now, hopefully they'll get some more in. This has been a real nice card that runs cool, performs well, and plays nice with my 790GX chipset.

I highly recommend this for anyone building a system with one monitor, you're not going to get much more from, say a 5770 for about 50% higher cost. For crossfire, I'd say two of these for under 200 is a screaming deal. one-six-oh w/MIR currently.

Cons: Not too much to say here. It lacks the multi-display technology and Direct X11 of the HD5000 series cards. Only 512MB GDDR ram, 1 gig would be better for higher resolutions.

How many Direct X11 games do you own? Maybe one? Possibly two in the next 6 months? This is a better value than direct X11 cards until that API is more relevant.

It is a bit noisy like most cards when you first boot, but after hitting windows it slows down to a reasonable level. It runs consistently at 50C, and the fan hardly ever needs to ramp up while gaming. The fan may not look like much, but it has a robust heatsink and is a 90mm fan. It does the job well.

Other Thoughts: Personally, I am skipping the 5000 series generation. I typically will buy a solid entry every other generation, as there isn't much to gain from spending 200-300 every six months.
This replaces a 8800GT, which wasn't that much of a performance boost. The 8800GT now resides in my wife's PC, so she is real happy with that card. The HD4850 plays with my 790GX chipset better than the 8800GT did. That other card has a cheap, 80mm fan in a shroud that collects dust like a vacuum. Runs about 20C hotter too! :)

If you are hesitating because of the newer cards available, I think you'll be happy with the performance per dollar that this card offers. Check the hierarchy chart at Tom's.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have 2 of these cards running in crossfire and they are great. I downloaded ATI's newest drivers and everything went smoothly. Bioshock, WoW and Crysis all run perfectly. I didn't find these cards to be particularly noisy.

Cons: These cards are huge. I ended up buying a new case with the power supply at the bottom and a 120mm side case fan blowing on the cards.

5 out of 5 eggsworking good

Pros: affordable and reliable brand.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: would have liked direct x 11 support but this saved me a good deal of money and was better then buying a cheaply made brand

5 out of 5 eggsCools.

Pros: Works perfectly.
Super cool compared to my 8800 that caught on fire last month.
No problems with gaming so far. High settings.

Cons: Refused to engage in sensual relations despite many advances on my part.

Other Thoughts: Worth it, so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, didn't get all that was advertised

Pros: Good company, high quality parts, it is working flawlessly in crossfire with a 4850 i bought 1.5 years ago

Cons: The supplied images show this video card coming with a crossfire cable. There wasn't one in the box I ordered, and had to spend more money buying one.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value!

Pros: This card is fast and fairly quiet. Seems well made, with an aftermarket heatsink fan combo that looks nice.

Cons: It is looooooong. Even in my midtower, the card was touching the sata cables coming out of the back of my hard drives. I could not unplug a cable without having to remove the card.

Other Thoughts: This is a good price for performance, however, with the latest 5xxx series cards supporting new directx, it might be better to wait for their prices to come down a bit.
