HOT HOT HOT, high 80C
- Pros: NO fan,..look nice, very fast.
- Cons: Dual slot, 6pin power, and super hot. Don't touch after long usage.
PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND
- Pros: Everyone that has high temps on fanless cards please consider this properly: If your PC case does not have ample ventilation, you will have problems with fanless cards running hot. For example, my PC case is an Enermax Chakra, and has the big but very quiet 250mm side fan. Using a fanless video card in that case never gives me higher idle temps than 30 to 34 degrees Celsius. Under load it gets up to 55 Celsius tops. I have a fanless card in another case that does not have ample airflow, and that one runs at 50 Celsius idle. So there you have it, if you do gaming or 3D stuff with your card and it is fanless, you HAVE to have proper airflow in your case. Final.
- Cons: Remember that you can buy and/or rig very silent fans that you can mount on the fins of your fanless cards if you don't want to install inhale & exhaust fans in your PC case, or don't want to install a sidefan or get another case. Arctic Cooling sells a little dual-fan video card cooler system that works wells too and mounts right on the fins of your card. So there are easy options if you already have a fanless card but are not up to par where it comes to ventilation in your case.
- Pros: Good graphics for a good price.
- Cons: First of all, installing it without bending the fins in the back is just a pain. Because of other issues, I've had to take it out and replace it four or five times, and those fins get caught every time. Also, mine has temperature issues. When I first put it in, it ran 50c, no matter what I did to it, at idle, at load, didn't matter. Then I took it out and put it back in, and I guess it didn't seat properly, and it started at 50c, then climbed up to 70, at idle, before I shut down and reseated it. Ever since it idles at 50, and ranges between 60 and 70c under load, despite reseating.
Also, no easy way to handle it. Everything is either flimsy heatsink or fragile capacitor or plug. There's just nowhere to grip it.
- Other Thoughts: I hope I didn't burn it out.
