- Pros: Nice replacement for my 8800GT. CPU speed up 25MHz with Overdrive; probably will go higher when I have the time. Runs at 48C at idle.
- Cons: Lack of DX11 support? If that's even a con at this point in time...
Great Card
- Pros: Great Card, Plays anything
- Cons: None
Going...going...
- Pros: Solid 4890. This blows away the other 4800 series cards as it should. Wish I could afford a Crossfire set. It would be the steal of the year. I thought about 2 HD4850's but glad I got this instead. Mild overclock is right up the alley for this card...in fact for the first time, I'm not going to even try to OC. The Zalman cooler puts out a lot of heat, but that just means it's doing its job keeping the GPU cool and the measured temps confirm.
- Cons: Wish there was someway that cooler could vent outside the case. Have plenty of fans and a huge case...Cooler Master Sniper...with fans galore so airflow is not an issue but could be with a small case and/or running two cards.
Wish they'd go to a lifetime warranty like XFX. A good product should have their manufacturer stand behind it.
- Other Thoughts: Very satisfied. This is the first video card I've had that gave me a perfect picture in Microsoft Flight Simulator...ya, ya, not a gamer, but after 20 yrs, wanted a rig to allow all sliders to be maxed out. With the AMD Phenom II x4 955BE. Dream come true.
There were, last I looked only 3 brands of 4890 cards still marketed on Newegg. Grab this one while you can. It beats the stats of the other two and am now convinced that Gigabyte makes some of the best video cards and motherboards...have both, such that my old favorites have been retired.
