5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Card

Pros: Love the 3gb's for my big monitor
When it hits 70c the fans kick in and bring it back down to about 60c and it stays there.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsLOVE LOVE LOVE

Pros: Fast, DX11, great cooling, great speed for single gpu card.
Temps stay well within 30-35c idle, 48c under load. Granted I have loads of fans on my CM Storm Trooper Tower.
i7 - 860 - 2.8ghz, 16g ddr3 1600mhz, gigabyte ga-p55a-ud6 mobo.

Went from a crossfired 4890s running at pcie x8, to single 16x.

stopped a jittering/lag problem.
Quiet too.

Cons: None yet, but if that changes, ill amend.

Other Thoughts: Just remember, large heatsink, large footprint.
3gig of ram nice.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect except for the noise

Pros: I purchased three of these for a surround setup and it is simply amazing. Plows threw everything in 5760x1080 with everything turned up.

Cons: About a week ago I noticed this extremely loud noise coming from my computer. It sounds like a swarm of hissing insects are trapped in my case. I figured out that one of the video cards' fan shroud is vibrating against the heat sink.

5 out of 5 eggsit's great

Pros: It's a 580 with two scoops of ram. The heat sink does a great job of keeping it cool, so there will be room for overclocking. I haven't had a chance to try and overclock it yet.

Cons: The plastic cover isn't sufficiently mounted to the heat sink; one must be careful not to break it when handling.

Other Thoughts: My goal was to run Skyrim with all the fancy textures and mods that are coming. This card runs it on ultra utilizing less than half its ram so there's plenty of headroom for future mods and ini tweaks to make the game look even better. I'm a Bethesda freak and have been plagued with stuttering for years, and this card finally fixed that. My fully modded install of New Vegas is running without a hitch. My setup:

ASRock z68 Extreme4 Gen3
core i7 sandybridge 2600k, stock 3.4GHz @ 4.6GHz
Thermaltake Frio cooler
G.Skill Ripjaws X series (2x4GB) @ 2133MHz
crucial C300 64GB SSD x 2 in RAID0
GIGABYTE GTX 580 3GB

Bf3 ultra settings 4xmsaa 47-60fps 1920x1080
bfbc2 highest settings with cs32xaa 70-90fps 1920x1080
lost planet 2 benchmark dx11 highest settings cs32xaa 62 fps average
crysis 16xq aa very high 40-50 fps 1920x1080
left 4 dead 2 highest settings 16xaa 150-250 fps 1920x1080

Other Thoughts: will buy another for sli when more gpu power is needed. I went with this card even though I love amd cards but I need better driver support which nvidia has.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: - As other reviewers have mentioned, great cooling management. People would normally expect a card this powerful to reach pretty high temperature but under gaming with quiet a heavy load, I have never went past 58 degrees celcius.
* Note that I have a very basic airflow set up with my mid-tower case desktop.

- While idle or during basic usage load (web browsing with multiple tabs while watching videos etc.) the fan is quiet.

- Have yet to reach below 60fps (on maximum frame counts) on ultra settings at 1080p on modern games to this date.

- Sturdy built, you can feel it the moment you touch the card.

Cons: - Under heavy load, such as playing a very demanding game the fan becomes audible but nothing you won't expect from a high-end GPU.

Other Thoughts: - The card dimension shown on the the description tab is wrong along with what is shown on Gigabyte's official product website. I've personally measured the card myself when I got it delivered. Expect the length to be about 1/4 inch shorter and the width to be about an inch less.

- I've been using Radeon HD 6970 for about a month but have encountered couple of issues with various games that have been released recently due to poor driver support so I decided to cash in some extra bucks and grabbed this card. I am very pleased with the result, especially the fact that I can even play RAGE on my PC now and Skyrim no longer suffers stuttering while running on ultra.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning a pair of these in SLI - so far so good

Pros: - Look well built
- at idle or moderate loads very quiet
- Under load - you can definitely hear them-but they stay relatively cool
- no issues so far.

Cons: -you have to be carefull handling them and avoid the fan shrouds
-other than that none

Other Thoughts: - using A Half X case on an ASUS P8Z68 Gen3 Deluxe with external H80 CPU cooler venting to the outside
-- Am using these in SLI to play BF3. Using current NVidia beta drivers with maxed out Ultra settings @ 1080p
-Top card runs at 70C -
-Bottom card runs at 63C
-Getting well over 100fps in most scenes.
-am going to use this in a surround mode once more monitors arrive for xmas ;)
