Other Thoughts: while this really is not the place for it... but here is how you install an NVIDIA unbuntu linux driver. also if the desktop does not appear (because of of a 'kernal') just follow...



installing nvidia drivers on unbuntu linux is easy... BUT there are things that most be done that aren't obvious...

1 get to tty1 (ctrl-alt-f1). login;
2 IMPORTANT!... sudo service lightdm stop
3 get to the driver file directory... sudo ./NV (press tab to complete name)
4 answer questions....!
5 restart (crtl-alt-del)

easy!!... aren't you glad that you NEWEGG'ed it?...

Pros: It a great card for the price I haven't had one problem with it yet , I bought it to play skyrim and it run better than i though I could play it on ultra setting.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Pros: This is a good card for people that do light gaming if your wanting to play LOL wiith your buds then this would be a good card for you.

Cons: Well about 2 and a half weeks after i got this card i think i overclocked it to much and the fps of my games was cut about in half looking at previous msi afterburner bench marks i had about 18 fps avg. no overclock and was able to get it up to 22 fps avg stable. but one day it just dropped down to 10 fps avg and so i'm a bit disappointing to say the least. but all the games i have i can still run

Other Thoughts: so here are some benchmarks of some games i play *note read the cons i put and take that into concideration that your fps will be higher

Minecraft- maxed out on far and fancy 60fps

saints row- AA x2 lowest settings 40fps max lowest dip 23 1280X720

call of duty bo2- medium settings 40 fps lowest 30 1920X1080

League of legends- chrarecter v-high and every thing else high at 1920X1080 70 fps

Pros: low price, quiet, doesn't require additional power. Bought it for my media center to play 3D MKV files, and to take advantage of the nVidia drivers for doing so. Works great for that.

Cons: None, if you know what you're getting. This is not really a gaming card. It does fairly well on games, but it's not really intended as a gaming card. Don't buy this card expecting to run BF3 on ultra at 1920x1080.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this card expecting to run BF3 on ultra at 1920x1080, but it's a great media center card, and for some light gaming.

Pros: It has 2Gigs of memory...

It's a 600 chipset...

Cons: My GTX285 runs circles around this card and has double the memory pipeline than this 630.

Only good for grandmas that open emails and watch kittens on youtoob <sic>

Other Thoughts: Unless it's for some sorry sap that wants to play simple games and watch online content, don't buy this card.

It's not for steam games or higher end visual applications.

Don't let the size of the memory and chipset series fool you.

Pros: Quick install, able to run games like Skyrim on ultra. Fan is quiet and works great running my two monitors off of it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Inexpensive for a nice upgrade to what I had.

Pros: Great card for the price. Excellent performance. Great for old hardware making a solid alternate computer.

Runs Multiforcer @ ~265M/s.

Pros: So far a great card, it was inexpensive (39.99) when I needed a new card for my HTPC. A few issues with Linux drivers, but great processing video and audio. Also from a great company.

Cons: None to date.

Pros: I basically bought this card for playing SBS movies on a DLP projector. If i am not wrong this is the entry level for Nvidia 3D supported cards and for the price the card does a great job. I am not a big gamer but I have played Crysis 2 on all high settings and there was no stutter. My config:
AMD 6300, overclocked to 3.94GHz
MSI 970A-G46 Mobo

Cons: I tried this card with 3 Mobos, finally setting for MSI 970. This card made whining sound with AS Rock 970, and there were other issues with Gigabyte 990FX Mobo like RAM not detected and card FAN used to stop.
So I think the card is not suited for all Mobos. The combination that worked best for me was MSI 970A-G46 + 16Gb GSkill RAM.
I also have Ubuntu Linux installed on my system. Although the card gets detected and the Noveau drivers that come with Ubuntu 12.10 are upgradable, I could not get 3D to work on this card in Linux. Probably needs more tweaking
