3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent specs, reasonably priced budget card. Good for games that aren't too demanding.

Cons: Drivers. Having owned this card since December I've noticed a great increase in stability and performance when upgrading drivers; however, I was disappointed by AMD's slow (monthly) updates of beta drivers and much longer development/certification cycles on final driver implementations. Beta's are quite stable at present but in December '13 and January '14 stability was nil and performance was terrible.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to play DayZ at a high resolution you'll need something far more powerful than this card.

3 out of 5 eggsGood card, until...

Pros: I got this card with one of the DIY PC Combo kits, item #1531829. This card ran BF4 on ultra, 1600x900 with ease, averaging, I would say, 40+FPS. Every game I have that I threw at it ran like a charm, Skyrim was a steady 60FPS, since that is what it seems to be locked at. Nice and quiet, barely knew it was there until....

Cons: The bearings in one of the fans were shot. It sounded like an old hard drive booting up or working. It was making a really loud rattling noise under load. I took the fan out and spun the second fan with my fingers and could here the bearings inside. Went to reinstall it the next day to for sure know it was the fan, the card was dead. Also driver issues but that was solved with a reinstall of them. Also, the thing is HUGE.

Other Thoughts: All in all, good card. Would recommend for a friend. Currently RMA with Newegg.

2 out of 5 eggsPower issues

Pros: affordale price, good specs, runs really cool and quiet

Cons: Does not turn back on from sleep

Other Thoughts: I had similar issues to Derek P. It won't restart after the computer has been in low power mode. Mobo beep code indicates a video card problem. After reseating the card it will work the next time I boot up. Rather frustrating to do every time though. I just put my old Radeon 6770 back into my rig until i figure out what to do.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat looking but...

Pros: Silent, extremely good at handling temperatures...but thats where it ends.

Cons: FPS issues on multiple games. When i first fired this card up, I noticed counter-strike go was getting less fps than my old 5700 series card. So i tried out BF3 and Rust and averaged about 12 fps with these games. Tried different drivers no luck. not sure what the issue is to be fair.

1. Be sure the power supply unit is at least 450watt.

2. Make sure to clear the old graphics driver before installing the new card in order to avoid driver conflicts.

3. Are you running the latest driver from AMD?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price!

Pros: Only needs one 6-pin power
Great performance for price
HDMI/Display Port/2 DVI ports
Great cooling fan (Doesn't seem to get above 40 C)

As this seems to be the best card you can get for only using one 6-pin I'm very happy with this card and glad that my graphics card is no longer the bottleneck of performance in my aging system. Can play many games at max or near max. =)

Cons: Bulky (I realize in today's world graphic cards are giant but this thing is the size of my ATX board across)

Other Thoughts: I didn't receive the AMD silver reward with the package and it seems Newegg is shipping one to replace the missing reward.
I've had issues with sleep mode as well but I've just stopped using sleep mode, I'm not totally sure this is a problem with the card however as it also happened with another card and could very well just be a failing memory stick.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bargain for Budget PCs

Pros: For the price, the GPU works brilliantly
Twin Fans really do keep the GPU at a cool temp
OC edition for higher clock speeds
2 free games!

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: So when I was first making my build, I was going to go with the r9 270x, but due to budget constraints I had to find a cheaper card. After looking at other cards in the sub $150 range and comparing the price for power, this card fit the bill. First of all, the card is the OC edition so the core clock is higher out of the box, which is a nice addition to have when gaming. Second, it is playing all of my games at the highest settings and has never dipped under 30fps (I haven't tried BF4 yet), such as Borderlands 2 and L4D2. Also, the twin fans are great at keeping the GPU at a nice temperature, but take up some space to jut make sure you measure accordingly. And it comes with 2 free games you can select from AMD, a nice bonus.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this card to anyone looking for a GPU in the sub $150 range for a budget build.

Specs:

AMD FX 6300
Gigabyte r7 260x
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
G.Skill Ares 8gb (2 x 4gb)
Western Digital Blue 1TB

2 out of 5 eggsPower problems

Pros: OK price, good specs, competitive in the price range

Cons: Does not wake up from sleep or a long time with the monitor turned off.

Other Thoughts: There is a bug in the driver or firmware and the card does not properly turn back on. I don't know when it will be fixed. Others are experiencing this same issue with current and last gen cards. An unplug and replug will bring it back up but its too much of an annoyance. Sticking with NVIDIA on all builds until this is resolved
