I love it .. very powerful.
- Pros: I started with two 8800 GTS in SLI and went to this one video card since my particular application couldn't take advantage of SLI. For interest sake, I ran 3dMark06 on one 8800 GTS, two 8800 GTS in SLI and this card. My results were 9422, 14918 and 13667 respectively. This implies that the advantage of the NX8800Ultra over one GTS card is on the order of 45% but also has a 56% increase in price.
If you divide each one of the 3dmark06 scores by the price of each video set up, you can get an idea of the value of each card (the higher the value the more bang for the buck). In this case my values were 25.5 for one GTS, 20.5 for two GTS in sli and 23.0 for one NX8800 Ultra.
In short, the one GTS has the best value but if you want top end performance that all applications can take advantage of, the NX8800Ultra is the way to go hands down.
- Cons: The only thing I would want from this card is a lifetime warrantee instead of 3 years. The manufacturer is pushing this card fairly hard and it could possibly sorten its life. I didn't subtract any eggs for this.
- Other Thoughts: On default settings the card idles at 64c and at full load will go up to 84c (fan hovers around 50% speed at this temp). Using a third party tool to max the fan speed to 100%, the card will idle at 50c and will stay at 74c under full load.
When upping the fan speed, the increase in sound is very noticeable but since I wear headphones this does not bother me. Imho, small price to pay for extending the life of the card.

- Other Thoughts: it's Cheaper than regular 8800Ultra's, and it's Factory OC'd
it's more expensive than the 8800GTX's, but it overclocks A LOT higher

WoW What to say about it?
- Pros: Well I got today and it can run Crysis where my 2 8600 GTS in SLI had some lag issue with it. Put this guy in and wow!! Got 10,292 a 1,000 point difference in 3DMark06. Can't wait for the price to drop so I can SLI these.
- Cons: Price maybe. And in CoD4 I get 91FPS like I did with my 2 8600 GTS. And make sure you have case room. But other that it's a high quality card.
- Other Thoughts: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000, 2GB DDR2 Ram, 250GB HHD, 600 Watt PSU,8800 Ultra.
Some say this GPU is hot well to tell you all that it Idles for me at least at 60c. The Temp of my 8600 GTS in SLI. I do plan on getting watter cooling in the future. NEWEGG you ROCK. Good Job guys on the products
Pay Attention
- Pros: OK Listen I Bought this card and I was Play it and it Froze so I reboot my PC and start playing again for like 1 hour all good after the hour froze again,so I deal like that for like a month (u know trying to find the problem)put more fans nothing I under clock my CPU nothing,my RAM ,nothing so I send it to MSI.
- Cons: The RMA was slow (about 2 weeks)but for a gamer like me its too much,looks like I was unlucky with this card i got a faily one.
- Other Thoughts: I got the replacement and its working like charm I LOVE IT I LL GET ANOTHER ONE ASAP the rma will cost MSI 1 score down to 4 over all good.
Bang for the Buck
- Pros: You can't currently beat this card for the money. Ultras, even overclocked, provide almost no performance advantage over the GTX but... if an Ultra is the same price as a GTX... why not??
- Cons: First one came DOA. Second worked great. This card runs HOT! 86c according to ATItool. Also, the default overclock is NOT stable. 660MHz is a bit over zealous. The card artifacts minorly at this speed. Most games/people wont care about minor glitches. Underclock it if you must.
- Other Thoughts: Still an expensive card even if it's cheapest of the line. Expect 10-14K in 3dMark06 depending on your CPU and 60+ FPS in Unreal3 demo at 1600x1200 full eye candy.
