Awsome
- Pros: This card is simply amazing. I was running an old 6200 card from nvidia and this is MUCH better. GDDR4 memory. CROSSFIREX, and next I'm gonna get the MSI k9a2 platinum and get some more of these guys. better than 8600gts and I only have PCIE x4 mode on my old 4coredual-vsta board so the 40fps i get in Lostplanet Extreme Conditions and the 80-somethin i get in HL2 Lostcoast makes it look pretty good.
- Cons: ATI makes bad drivers. Im sorry to say this but it is true. I have had this card for a while and i waited about 4 months to get good drivers, but i still love all things ATI. Huge card, but still fits in my rosewill case. VERY HOT at som points. Considered O.C. this thing but for 20 more mhz in the core clock jumped to 26c idle, and is usually 15-17c idle. When I play for more than 4hours it overheats, but that is is MAX. everything. Oh well, i want to get an ACCELERO S1 REV.2 with turbo mod. to cool it down
- Other Thoughts: I want to get 3 more and put them in a k9a2 platinum and have quad CROSSFIREX. that would be cool, heck i might even trade in this card for its 2.0 msi counterpart, the 3650, or get some more money and get a 3870x2, but those seem too expensive, oh well. I think I will stay with these. NEWEGG AND ATI ROCK!!!!!!
Great Card - Crossfire too!
- Pros: The first pro is the price. Simply amazing price for the performance that this card delievers to PC gamers. I was very impressed. I am a system builder and have used a few of these cards in systems for customers that want to play the latest games, but don't have thousands to drop into a system. I would highly reccomend this card to anyone. I have witnessed the card play Crysis, Witcher, Lord of the Rings, and other games. All played perfectly with no lag and great frame rates. Recently I setup two of these cards in Crossfire Mode for a customer, talk about nice... WOW!
- Cons: The size of the card is a bit large, as are most high perfomance cards, but to rate size efficency, I would have to give this card a C or D. Think about the size of the Nvida 8800GT. It will fit in a single slot, making SLI mode easy, and not take up any extra PCI slots. All and the 8800GT is far more powerful.... granted $100 more too. Crossfire mode is hard to setup because of the size of the coolers, depending on motherbaord specs you may need more then one slot between the two cards, or after market coolers may be required.
- Other Thoughts: Don't let the small con of the size deter you from purchasing this card. I have these cards installed in mid-tower atx cases, and they fit fine, and stay well cooled. If your budget is low, definatly buy this card, if this card is still a bit high in price, they make a similar 256MB version for about $40 less, that works just a good.
