2 out of 5 eggsDecent Card Performance, Bad Cooling Engineering

Pros: Decent card performance, no crashes, seems to run applications like it should.

Cons: Loud Fan!!!! can deal with it but does bug me. where is my rebate?!?! been over 4 months and nothing yet. On MSI web site, said to be accepted. also was a pain to fill out like always, but thats rebates and i knew that so not really a con.

Other Thoughts: temps: 42-45 idle 60-65 loud. fine temps but for how loud the fan is... the temps should be ice cold. as i was checking it out, i noticed that the fan spins at a high rpm but still doesn't move as much air as it should. that’s just bad engineer. I know there is better ways of moving the same amount of air with lower rpms, thus less noise.

4 out of 5 eggsVery pleased so far

Pros: Very fast and very easy to use. I have only owned this for a week, but I am already impressed. I am running it in an old Dell XPS 400 which was overdue for this update, so maybe the sheer difference between the stock card and this one plays a part here. I don't play any of the real graphic-heavy games, so I cannot comment on that kind of performance need, but for RTS and RPG, I have been very pleased.

Cons: The fan is a little loud.

Other Thoughts: Newegg again outdoes itself on ease of ordering and shipping. Nearly every time I order through Newegg, I get my shipment a day earlier than planned. Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsFast/Powerfull

Pros: Great card for the $, 30 after MIR, this card is not for your hardcore gamer, but it will do for the casual gamer who need alot of performance for the buck

Cons: Covers one of my PCI-X slots, 256MB/128-bit, but what do you expect for the $

Other Thoughts: LED lights would really make this card awesome, maybe in the future i will replace stock HS/FAN and do that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Plays CSS, Call of Duty 4 (the only 2 I have tested so far) on all high without an issue. Stays cool around 44 c

Cons: The fan is loud for my liking, and you cant control it even though the Dual Core Center utility has the "fan speed control" section...

Other Thoughts: I got this card at the perfect time, free game and $50 rebate. Cant beat that

4 out of 5 eggsGood card for single, bad for SLI

Pros: Great value with MIR. Thats 30 clams for 32 shaders... with DDR3 (but only 256M at 128 bit).

Cons: 30+ clams for one, 60+ clams for two to do SLI... don't do it. I see some others below thinking about it, but trust me;There are great deals right now with better cards.

For instance, you can get 96 shaders, 384M DDR3 192-bit for 55+ clams (Item#:N82E16814121251 - and you get a free game to boot; as of this posting date anyways).

Heck, for a few more bucks, you can get 112 shaders (9800s). Keep in mind also this card is dual slot cooling, so make sure you have the room if you plan on going SLI with this card despite the better deals that are available.

Other Thoughts: These low end cards usually don't come wtih the SLI bridge. You usually get that with your SLI mobo... else you can buy one here for under 10 clams. BTW- this is not a forum... but to review the products.

5 out of 5 eggsstill a great card

Pros: been a month now and the card still impresses me! OCs like crazy, runs cool, even plays the crysis demo on high at 1024x768. for the money i can't find anything better! and can't find anywhere better to purchase one! thanks newegg!!

Cons: didn't buy 2!

Other Thoughts: bi4290.... SLI bridges are usually supplied with the SLI capable motherboard. not sure how to get one otherwise. maybe check your mobo's manufacturer.

Kriston.... i am achieving the clock speeds stated in my earlier review useing the latest nvidia drivers. u need to download nvidia tools to accesss the tweaking tools. not sure what the deal is with the digital vibrance though. i find the display optimization wizard sets it up pretty good though maybe try that.

2 out of 5 eggsFast but needs MSI drivers

Pros: The card is very fast and has the faster memory bus, plus overlclocking options are useful.

Cons: Unfortunately you must install the horribly bad MSI drivers to get Digital Vibrance to work. The card is an "almost" nVidia card in that the official nVidia drivers will not fully drive this card. The MSI drivers are required for any overclocking or setting up Digital Vibrance (which is the reason I always choose nVidia). I'm trading this in for something that works 100% with just the nVidia drivers.

Other Thoughts: It appears to me that MSI did not fully make their nVidia cards to the specifications. The Digital Vibrance and other functions just do not work at all with official nVidia drivers.
It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, to remove these MSI drivers from your system, too.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Runs TrackMania Nations and Sunrise at 60fps on Ultra High, runs Kingdom Hearts on PCSX2 at 45fps, and runs pretty much everything else at good playable speeds.

Cons: Takes up 2 slots.

Other Thoughts: Gets 5.6 on the Aero test and 5.5 on the gaming test on the Windows Experience Index in Vista. That's out of 5.9, btw. :)
