5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card

Pros: Works great with all my games, including COD4, with high video settings. No problems with temperature or fan noise. Best card I've ever owned.

Cons: I didn't know about the power requirements and didn't have enough power connectors for it. It comes with an adapter for the two plugs that need to be attached. I had to buy another power supply because I had no available connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsSLI with 2 MSI

Pros: Bought this same card about 2 months ago and it was running 43/58 idle/load OCed to 700Mhz core clock and 2000Mhz bus on stock cooler turned all the way up. So I bought a second one to go SLI!

Cons: None if you're not an idiot.

Other Thoughts: Just boosted the resale value of my computer and future proofed myself for $250. Now I can hold out for the GeForce 9 series GTX and still have excellent frames without selling my right leg for an Ultra or GTX.

5 out of 5 eggs@@@@@@ really fast... really HOT. READ THIS @@@@@@

Pros: 660/1900 MHz factory clock; when paired with a Q6600 @ 3.5 GHz, I could get 15,000 3dmark06's with this. I installed a Accelero (highly recommended) and now it idles at 34C. I did overclock this videocard to 710/2000 Mhz. Is able to play Crysis at high settings on everything smoothly. So far no game can make this videocard sweat besides crysis. (when paired with a good CPU of course)

Cons: stock single slot cooler isn't powerful enough to keep this at cool temperatures; idles at 58C and loads over 78C with stock cooler. This card doesn't benefit much from overclocking, nor does it overclock far. It stops being stable at around 720-725 Mhz core. A 3dmark06 difference between a 660Mhz and a 710Mhz core was only around 300-600 points.

Other Thoughts: System: Q6600 @ 3.5 GHz (Arctic Freezer 7 Pro); Crucial DDR2 800 Ballistix; MSI 8800GT 710/2000; P5K Deluxe motherboard; SoundBlaster 2 ZS

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card if you adjust fan setting

Pros: Outstanding performance for price.
Factory Overclocked.

Cons: Needs Fan Adjustment. This cards fan will run at 29% unless you use riva tuner to adjust it.
Instructions can be found here:

Other Thoughts: After fan adjustment this card rocks as does NEWEGG

1 out of 5 eggsGreat until you have a problem

Pros: just as good as any brand. until you have trouble

Cons: got a bad card. sent it back 10 days later i got the same old card back.with the same problem

Other Thoughts: i have owned and ran a computer busniess for 10 years. the hardest part of this busniess is finding companys that back up there product. i would buy xfx, BFG, OR ASUS. MSI is a joke

5 out of 5 eggsway better than 8600 gt oc

Pros: Core clock at 660 Mhz? Higher than 8800 ultra's wow! Shader is at 1650 and memory at 1900. By far the most bang for its buck. The video card runs very cool in my antec case. No liquid cooling in my system, but very well ventilated. I went from having 6600 score on 3dmark06 with bfg 8600 gt to having over 13K with MSI 8800 GT thats a big improvement!. Runs crysis on high over 30 FPS!

Cons: Fan needs to be set higher than stock 29% and you will be fine. Set it at 50% through nvidia's ntune and you will run crysis on high or for those who know how to tweak xp on very high :)

Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.0Ghz) EVGA nForce 680i Lt Sli, 4 GB (2.8 Usable by XP) Patriot PC 6400 800 Mhz FSB, MSI 8800 GT OC, Antec 900 with 3 front 120mm fans, 1 side 120mm fan, 1 rear 120mm fan, 1 200mm fan on top, 2 (250GB) WD Cavier SE 16 mb buffer 3.0gb/sec on raid stripped (for game install) and 1 (500GB) WD cavier se 16mb buffer 3.0gb/sec for Operating System, Coolermaster 650 watt power supply sli ready

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!!

Pros: Amazing card wow...where do i start? I used to have a 7600GS and i was doing some benchmarking with 3dmark06 as well as the orange box...Dont remember how much i got in 3dmark06 with that thing, but i know it was about somewhere in 4000's . After i got this card my orange box frames went up from 15-20 highest settings 0AA to about 300 FPS constant :O! My 3dmark06 went up from somewhere in 4000 to 11,500. The software it came with was really helpful especially the dual core center in which you can select modes for you card to operate such as game, or cool...etc, and the software will automatically set the right clock speeds for that mode or task. Handles Crysis on high no problem :D

Cons: Big and hot, but not a problem as long as you have a roomy and ventilated case

Other Thoughts: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ @3.03Ghz, XFX 590SLI, 2GB DDR2 800 A-data (@864mhz), MSI Overclocked 8800gt, Western Digital 80GB HDD SATA

5 out of 5 eggsbig improvement over 8600gts

Pros: runs crysis(for me) at 1440x900 all settings on high and 2xAA at 25-30fps....swapped out an MSI 8600gts OC for this and its a vast improvement....

Cons: no cons seems ok so far

Other Thoughts: dunno if it was just me or what but when i installed the new nvidia driver for linux 169.07 seemed to make the fan on this thing rev up for a few minuted then it calmed down...hasnt happened since...oh well....very good product

3 out of 5 eggsDefective Unit

Pros: Great frame rates. Ran Crysis at 1280x1024 with all the eye candy turned up to the highest settings plus 2x AA and 2x Aniso. The cooling fan was pretty quiet as well. Much quieter than my 7900GS card.

Cons: The card became unstable after 3 weeks. It caused my PC to lockup even if I wasn't running any games.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's RMA process was easy. My only complaint was the shipping option they gave took 5 business days to arrive at their warehouse. Once the return was received Newegg took 1 day to process it. No product is perfect which is why I like shopping at Newegg. The the return policy and easy RMA process help protect the consumer.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as good as It should be

Pros: Plays games awesome and made my opteron 185 a bottleneck

Cons: DVI Doesn't work... This issue seems to be floating around NVIDIA's cards dating back to 2005 and probably earlier and nobody seems to have a fix for it. Google "8800GT DVI" to see what i'm talking about.

Other Thoughts: killed a 500watt psu. I think i'm going with ATI next time as nvidia isn't what it used to be IMO
