5 out of 5 eggsNot too bad of a card

Pros: Extremely cheap video card and puts out a bit more than you pay for. Plays crysis on low, 800x600 at about 45 fps after a little overclocking and doesnt make any noise since its fanless.

Cons: Greatly limited by the 64 bit bandwidth and the GDDR2 memory. The fanless heatsink also makes the card run a little hot but with no overclocking, it should run 60 degrees on load. I couldnt find a way to turn turbocache off so be prepared to lose 256MB of your system memory.

Other Thoughts: I greatly regret getting this card because if the other options out there. If you dont do any gaming above games running on the source engine, this card is a perfect match for you, but if you do, get something better than this because there are video cards not much more expensive that put out a lot more.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Good for the price, it is cheap and it will run basically everything out there but the high graphic games.

Cons: Gets pretty hot, the heat spread does not do much to cool it down.

5 out of 5 eggsRippin!

Pros: It was very easy to Install, Grapics are crisp and well defined, this card has made my day, I was impressed at how It came out jumping out of the screen right from the get-go.

Cons: As usual, MIcrosoft Vista wanted to run the show, so it kept trying to compete with the CD-ROM install, It made it crash a couple of times, but recovery was fast.

Other Thoughts: I would like to add that computer build (Newbees) like me will find this an easy one, never mind the fact that I'm a prof tech by trade, it was an easy Install.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns Very Hot!

Pros: This is a very nice functioning card with great graphics and is fairly fast for normal use.

Cons: The heat sink is too large and inefficient for cooling the chip. The card occupies one slot, the heat sink takes an additional two slots (space wise).

Other Thoughts: A heat sink and a VGA fan would make it excellent.

5 out of 5 eggsgood card for htpc

Pros: Good card, great price. New mobo, new graphics card. Works will with Vista ultimate.

Cons: This is a good thing, somewhat. With my old apg 8x card, I used a rca adapter to 75ohm coaxial to rca adapter to connect my computer and tv. With this video card, I had to get a s-video cable. Also, with the old card, tv shows off the network websites showed full screen fine on my tv. With the new card, the network tv is much bigger. I haven't found a way to resize it so that full screen fits in the screen yet. Will have to get an hd tv next year though, so no big deal really.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the money

4 out of 5 eggsGS stands for Good Stuff

Pros: It is what it is - a very good, fairly powerful DX10 video card. You can NOT beat it for the cost. It is more powerful than a 6800GTX, at least that's what I've had to compare it to. That card cost almost 20 times more 4 years ago. As a tester, I use a virgin install of HL2, and with everything maxed out on a FX55 cpu, I'm seeing 70fps at the water level.

Cons: Yes, it gets hot. But not as hot as my 8800GTS with the fan at 80%... so while fanless, all things are relative. The 8400 chipset doesnt get as hot as a 8800, especially at this clock speed. There is one big con however - the rattling MSI tag! I removed it ASAP, it does not leave a mark when removed.

Other Thoughts: I've had bad luck with MSI stuff in the past, but this seems to be a rock solid card. Now let's see if the rebate ever pays off and if it does - I will once again be a MSI happy customer!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Audio Workstation

Pros: Silent, Dual Monitor Capable, Extremely Inexpensive. Doesn't eat up multiple slots like some cards do. No extra pwr connectors needed.

Cons: Not fast enough for newer 3d games - who cares for this price?

2nd output is digital so you need an adapter if you want to run 2 CRT monitors.

Other Thoughts: Purchased for use in a DAW running Sonar under WinXP SP2. 2 CRT monitors at 1280x1024 resolution. Fanless is great, no annoying noise from card. Plenty powerful for normal operations. Would probably run older 3d games without too much trouble, haven't tried myself. Uses standard Nvidia drivers which are updated regularly. Never installed the bundled software CD.

5 out of 5 eggsOpenGL Linux good

Pros: Works great for running OpenGL on Linux. bzflag=dreamy.

Cons: Gets very hot... not hot enough to lockup, but I worry. I rather not have a bunch of fan noise, that's why I bought fanless. But I may have to add a large low rpm fan to case, the slow smaller one doesn't seem to keep 2 of these 8400 very cool.
