5 out of 5 eggsgreat video card

Pros: MSI factory OC = awesome! i abuse the cr@p out of this card and it always shines! runs oblivion on maximum settings and gets 60+ fps (running on msi mobo with e2200 and 2 gb g.skill 800mhz mem)

Cons: i should have bought 2 of these while they were in stock!!

Other Thoughts: this card beats any other 8600gt out there!

2 out of 5 eggsNot So Good

Pros: This card has good graphics and overall good performance.

Cons: Had it just about a year and the fan has gone bad. Not happy about it at all!

Other Thoughts: Mounted horizontally in a desktop tower.

5 out of 5 eggs4 thumbs up!

Pros: The graphics are great - easily compares to a much more expensive card. The cooling fan is very quiet, and the card provides a temperature sensor that can be monitored by most freeware programs. My card runs at about 24C.

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Everyone

Pros: Had it for a month: works great, setup dual display and S-vide projection. Works great, quet enought.

Cons: little combersom, since only two devices can be active at one time have dual monitor and projection, have to disable one monitore to watch the projection

Other Thoughts: very affordable runs great.

2 out of 5 eggsFix For Great Heater

Pros: Great Card for Everything, Newegg

Cons: Went to apply AS5 and found the tape had not been removed from the factory!!! Now I know why it idled at 70c!! Plastic between GPU and TIM, not a very good conductor of heat. W/AS5 idles at 49c

Other Thoughts: Well MSI has lost any and all business from me and everyone I know!!!!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsSilent

Pros: Card has a good price-to-performance ratio. The unit remains quiet and appears to be fairly well-featured but I rarely use extra "features".

DX10 support is a plus if you can tolerate Vista.

Cons: Standard sub-par English user guide - Which I don't need anyhow.

Notably cheap GPU fan that will probably die in a year or so. I wouldn't dare overclock this with the stock fan and heatsink.

Peculiar that this unit doesn't have auxilliary power connectors for advertising the ability to overclock. That should be a concern. Non-OC use appears to be fine, however.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on how hot my GPU runs. However, other users have commented how hot this card can get.

I've seen 3 GPU fans die in the last 3 years from 3 different manufacturers and abysmally cheap stock fans are becoming far more common.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet budget card

Pros: Very nice card for any budget gamer,,,bought this as a fillin after my Asus 6800gt finaly smoked,,so I could save up for the 7800gt , but I run this card 8 to 10 hours at a time on ultra high graphics in DDO , and it never skips a beat,,think Ill just grab another for sli and skip the 7800gt.

Cons: None so far..

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Heater

Pros: Runs Everything Great, While it is cool.

Cons: Could be used as a small space heater or stove! Runs idle 65c load 120+ quick!!!!

Other Thoughts: Something needs to be done about cooling this card!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: Great video card - runs everything I play beautifully at max settings. COD4, HL2: Episode 2, Prey.... One of the cheapest DirectX 10 capable cards out there with DDR3 RAM. Great buy.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: A point of interest - I upgraded from an MSI GeForce 8600GT 256MB to this card, which was a bit of a debacle. If anyone else does this, just make sure to delete all the old drivers before putting the new card into the system, or you'll have a lot of headaches getting the new one to work.

5 out of 5 eggsDont use the MSI drivers....

Pros: Very nice card... I run all my games on High res with out any issues or noticeable lag. All setting on Crysis on High. I would recommend this Video Card.

Cons: MSI drivers and OC settings seemed to make the system unstable; as well as the latest Nvidia driver... I installed v163.75 Nvidia driver and the card is working great...

Other Thoughts: It even seems to stay much cooler with the older 163.75 driver. While playing Crysis the most the card gets is about 61c. With the latest Nvidia driver the card would get between 65-70c.
