Being the first Radeon HD6850-based graphic card supporting triple over-voltage functions, the MSI R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition equips a 6+1 Phase power system to improve overclocking capability and stability. Also, the critically acclaimed Cyclone thermal solution can reduce the GPU temperature by up to 14-degrees and lower noise by 4dB versus the reference design under full-speed operations. The exclusive P/S Switch allows you to easily adjust fan speed between the Performance Mode and Silent Mode. What’s more, the R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition is built with the latest MSI Military Class II materials to ensure the best power supply quality, stability and lifespan. Overall, the R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition is one of the most powerful Radeon HD6850-based graphic cards with the most functions and highest quality.

  • newegg Triple Over-voltage and 6+1 Phase Power System Supporting triple over-voltage function, the R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition graphic card enables you to easily adjust the voltage of the GPU, RAM and VDDCI for more overclocking potential using the MSI-exclusive Afterburner utility. Additionally, a more robust, 6+1 phase power system can enhance OC stability and unleash the full potential of the graphic card, when compared with the reference design.
  • newegg MSI-exclusive Cyclone Thermal Solution The R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition is equipped with the MSI-exclusive Cyclone thermal solution. With the nickel-plated pure copper heat-sink, the heat generated by the GPU is efficiently transported to the fins on both sides via the heatpipes. The 9cm diameter temperature-controlled fan generates powerful airflow that dissipates heat effectively off the GPU. When compared with the reference design, the Cyclone can effectively reduce the GPU temperature by 14-degrees and noise level by 4dB. Maintaining a balance between cooling efficiency and quietness, the Cyclone brings power you a low-temperature and quiet work environment.
  • newegg Performance/Silent Modes MSI-exclusive P/S Switch function on the R6850 Cyclone 1GD5 Power Edition was developed with two fan speed profiles: Performance Mode and Silent Mode. The former emphasizes an enhanced cooling power that can significantly reduce GPU temperature to keep the graphic card at the optimal working condition, while the latter stresses on quiet operations for users to keep noise minimal while playing games or watching a movie. As both modes deliver excellent cooling performance, even the pickiest power users can always keep the environment under control according to their needs.
  • newegg Quality Advancement: Military Class II Materials MSI Military Class II components include the Hi-C tantalum caps with lifespan 8 times longer than solid caps, the SFC high-performance choke which supplies 30% more power, and the all solid caps with a lifespan up to 10 years. With such components, the quality and stability of graphic cards are maximized.
  • newegg Microsoft DirectX 11 The very latest in high-speed, high-fidelity gaming and computing, Microsoft DirectX 11 featuring new technologies like Compute Shaders, Direct2D, Multi-threaded Rendering and Tessellation enables not just more visually stunning games, but significant performance improvements in some of your favorite websites and everyday applications.
  • newegg AMD Eyefinity Technology Supporting multiple independent display outputs simultaneously, AMD Eyefinity technology delivers innovative graphics display capabilities enabling massive desktop workspaces and ultra-immersive visual environments for the ultimate panoramic computing experience. The new display interface DisplayPort 1.2 boasts features such as 2560x1600 max resolution per display, 21.6 Gbps bandwidth, multi-stream transport and high bit-rate audio, enabling simple, affordable and flexible multi-display configurations.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, cool, looks great, low power drain, compact

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: Previously wrote a review accusing this card of BSODing my computer. Turns out it was a bad combination of my MB with this card. Replaced the MB and now everything is stable.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet, beautiful card. No problems with it so far. I'm really falling in love with MSI.

Cons: Newegg made me type something here.

Other Thoughts: Haven't overclocked it, but was thinking about picking up a second one. It seems the OC version has been deactivated, but the regular one is still on here.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card.

Pros: - No issues in a year
- Looks nice
- Very cool temperature under load
- Quiet
- Runs BF3 on all high at 40fps @ 1920 x 1080 res

Cons: - It can not run BF3 smoothly on ultra at max resolution, but it is a 6850, what do you expect.

Other Thoughts: I have had this card since January of 2011 and I have not had an issue with it once. Not even any minor flickers or anything. This card has performed at top notch and I saw everything I could have expected from it.

3 out of 5 eggsCaused Crashes on an MSI MB, where my old MSI 5830 runs still with no issues.

Pros: Seemed to work for many, good specs and nice cooling.

Cons: I'd assume compatibility issues with some hardware still, makes little sense that my far more quirky MSI 5830 would never have a problem but this card caused black screens after an hour, and every 20 minutes or so gaming.

Other Thoughts: Works for most I'd still say this card is worth trying, my RMA went through flawlessly, thanks Newegg!

1 out of 5 eggsSystem Crashing

Pros: Fast card for the price. Quiet. Cool.

Cons: This card causes my graphics drivers to crash. After that it eventually causes the entire system to crash. Put in my old card, no crashes.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps you will have more luck than I.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Greatest bang for buck card out in the market, easily OCable at relatively low temperatures, great performance, MSI is a great company.

Cons: None. Doesn't look the nicest, but that's a fair trade for performance and cooling.

3 out of 5 eggsRMA in Progress

Pros: Crossfire's well. Overclocks easily to 1ghz with updated drivers and overclocking makes a huge difference in real world gaming performance for me. Afterburner works well and can be set to start up with windows and always be OCd if you want. First one has given me no trouble after a year and a half. Second one died after 3 weeks. Almost never micro stutters with crossfire and looks cool. Overclocks to 1ghz with no voltage increase but my settings for stable 1ghz gaming is 1220cv 1000Mhz, and 1130mem. By itself one of these cards plays skyrim and crysis 2 at max res/max settings but frame rate on those is low until its overclocked. With two cards this card will play BF3 Metro ect on max no problem. Reviews I have seen of the 69xx suggest those cards do not perform as well as this card has for me for games .

Cons: Purchased a second one for crossfire and put my new card as primary and aparantly it couldnt take it. RMA in progress with MSI and it has been almost a month and they are now shipping it :( If you can go through NewEgg for RMA do that since they took about a week last time I did one with them.

5 out of 5 eggsROCKING IT OUT! GO AMD!

Pros: Overclocked already to a stable speed on the gpu and ram! NICE gpu cooler, SILENT and effective! Only requires 1 6-pin power connection. Runs WOW in ultra mode just fine with my crossfired 2 of these! Loving the upgrade from crossfire 5770s! BIG difference in games, less fram lag and better details in game!

Cons: Not a single one!

Other Thoughts: If you want a VERY NICE video card upgrade go with one of these or 2 crossfired! Low cost for a BANGING video card!

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Card runs great. Not too experienced went from an Nvidia Geforce 6200 to this. Runs everything i have maxed with great results. especially for the price.

Cons: I noticed that the FPS rates are dropping. The first day i ran a test on all my games, on minecraft the first day(i let the world finish rendering) and the FPS was100+ now i get maybe 80 at best. I updatedall drivers but i think use wears it down. Other than this the card still runs great.

Other Thoughts: I haven't played any new game. I'veplayed Minecraft, Starcraft 2 and Call of Duty 4. It eaily maxs all games with minecraft at80+, starcraft 2 at 80 at beginning of gameand never below 20 even when maxed out army. Call of Duty 4 never below 230.
