2 out of 5 eggsAlmost made it a year!

Pros: Nice card for what I paid for it almost a year ago! Handled just about every game with medium to high settings turned on!

Cons: While playing a game, everything locked up, blank screen. Then cool wisps of smoke comes pouring out of the card. Cool special effect, but interrupted my game playing as well as anything I do with my pc. Had to thrown in an old junk pci video card in the meantime.

Other Thoughts: I've always had ati based cards, not much of a problem with them. This was disappointing. Hopefully I can rma it to the Visiontek. I sent them email, must wait until Monday to hear back. I would have gave the card 4 stars, but it melting on me convinced me to give it just a 2. Barely.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for slim cases

Pros: Biggest thing is its low profile. I have a very slim case, so I need low profile graphics cards. This is a very good card. My computer can run programs now that I only dreamed of before. Also, it is not very expensive. So, if you need a low-profile card, this is one of the best choices.

Cons: This is a general con for all low profile cards, they are not as good as the regular ones. They cant hold as much memory, and are smaller so they cant put all the good stuff on them. However, as I said before, this is a very good card for low profile computers.

4 out of 5 eggsThe good and the bad...

Pros: Solid 3d performance given that this card is low-profile. Pair it up with a solid CPU (dual core) and enough RAM (2+GB) and you'll get adequate gaming performance. The HDMI->DVI adapter works as it should. Comes with low profile brackets and an HDMI cable which is a big convenience.

Cons: The fan noise. As others have reported the fan is loud, and runs at 100% at all times. Keep in mind that "loud" is relative. For a HTPC that is kept close to where you're sitting, it may be too loud. For regular PC use, it's probably going to be louder than all of your stock fans. I find it bearable, but it's pushing the limits of what I would consider acceptable.

Other Thoughts: My understanding is that you CANNOT control the fan speed using tray tools like many video cards because it uses a 2-pin power lead. I would say this: if you're running stock fans, and you think you're computer is already too loud, avoid this card. If you're looking for a quiet PC, avoid this card. If you don't mind some fan noise, then this is a card with some positives.

1 out of 5 eggspoor product, even worse product support

Pros: It worked fine for about 60 days.

Cons: Not only did this card have one of the loudest non-variable fans in all of video card history, it only lasted about 60 days before it failed completely. System will not even power on with this device installed; works fine with XFX low-profile card I replaced it with.
Furthermore, upon contacting VisionTek support to RMA the defective product, they had the audacity to try and charge me for restocking and shipping and handling of the replacement.
No thank you VisionTek; you can keep your poor quality products and I'll keep the rest of my money. I'll just write off the cost of this card as a bad investment.

3 out of 5 eggsno HDMI sound.

Pros: HDMI to HDMI, HDMI to DVI Adapter, S-Video to SPIF.

Cons: No HDMI audio support.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's part was perfect. Shipping was on mark, I got everything shown in the pictures and everything works. The part I don't like is that my HDTV (Sharp Aquos 32D42U) does not support 1:1 pixel mapping via HDMI. Luckily newegg includes a HDMI to DVI converter and it works perfect. I just wish I could of done audio and video with 1 cable.

2 out of 5 eggsDoes not do HDMI sound..

Pros: Great video quality

Cons: Passive audio doesn't work. Called Visiontek for support and they thought this card actually processes sound. I used all the adaptors in the world like they tell me and still no sound.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best half height card

Pros: HDMI, TV out (S-video) w/ Composite adapter, sped up every one of my games, best half height solution on the market, ATI wise.
Works in my Dell Dimension C521 very well without any extra power

SUPER FAST SHIPPING!! I ordered on a holiday Monday, and recieved my card on WEDNESDAY THE SAME WEEK!!!!!! Nice job Newegg!!

Cons: VGA output doesn't work (extension won't fit in my slots), composite adapter won't work with my TV (actually it's the TV that won't work w/ the computer), HDMI adapter didn't work right out of the box, but easily fixed!

Other Thoughts: When I got this card, I installed it, turned on the computer, and everything was green & pink! Luckly, it was just the HDMI to DVI adapter. Bought another from here for $4.99, and has worked ever since!

I played Need For Speed Carbon on my C521 and 128 MB X1300 with 800x600 resolution & everything at medium detail, and I got a little jumpy performance. I got this card, and now I play at 1280-x1024 with everything at perfect detail, and performance is better than before!

The closest NVidia competitor is the 8600GT slim version, but they are almost exactly the same in performance! At $64.99 for this, and almost $100 (or more) for the 8600GT, of course I'm going to get this, and I will never regret it!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsold is better ?

Pros: its ati ...motherboards make you choose 1 video chipset vendor if you desire more than 1 video card...what a *****

Cons: my old nvidia 6600 gets 5.5 for aero and 4.7 for gaming...but will not work(x2) on my ati crossfire supported board....really tempted to try

Other Thoughts: hate that to even get a card that rates good , you gotta start at the $150 range****(start)***....where you end up from there is in the cardmakers back pocket , or driveway , in the form of a bmw....wish ida got a board with onboard video so i could boycott....all this being said , im buying 2 of these ati cards in the upcoming weeks...i want to see crossfire in my case next to the shiny new 600 watt power supply and driven by the new intel e8400 on this rockin asus blitz motherboard...(2 x 80-90 bux )(hmmm) or (2 x 150+) ..2 midway cheap cards should do halfway decent , right ? havent seen much reviewing to give me an idea on this....i have always liked both ati and nvidia....didnt used to have to choose while buying a motherboard

3 out of 5 eggshdmi works

Pros: hdmi works well. both external and internal digital audio connection works

Cons: noisy. the reason for buying an hdmi video card is mainly for connecting your pc to a hdtv. the noise generated by this card is very annoy while watching movies.

Other Thoughts: for the price, I guess the you have to give up something. but from the design point of view, it's important to consider the user environment to make a product valuable and usable.
