1 out of 5 eggsWas nice "while it lasted"

Pros: Paid $350 for mine with sleeping dogs

Cons: Warranty Page is so stupid and I doubt they will honor the 3-year warranty////the card crashes my box now i cannot play any games without windows freezing. tried drivers and still a no go. *sigh*

3 out of 5 eggsHot Headed

Pros: Good performance, good price, visually appealing.

Cons: They run real hot, and the temps are all over the place. Under 100% load, one card runs 68C at 1100Mhz while another runs 86C at 890Mhz, and everything in between. I've had to re-apply thermal paste on a few of them because they were getting up over 100C after only a few minutes. I also clipped the backs off the shrouds, as they were blocking air from the chassis fans. None of this has really been of tremendous help, as I only have two cards that stay relatively cool at stock clocks.

Other Thoughts: I bought eight of these at once. One arrived DOA, and Newegg was good about providing a timely replacement.

Several of the cards had dramatically bent brackets out of the box; I had to use pliers to bend them back.

All eight cards are running in a TYAN B7015F72V2R GPU server chassis, which provides amazing airflow and has become the industry standard for large compute servers. Cooling should not be a problem in this chassis.

5 out of 5 eggsSmooth, like silk on skin

Pros: Runs everything I've thrown at it at a rock solid 60 fps, except WoW. With everything maxed out I'm only pulling about 40-55fps in the new zones; lowering shadows fixes it. I've read that this is an issue with wows coding though.

BF3, Borderlands 2, Diablo 3 all maxed out with only minor OC'ing through MSI Afterburner. Would probably do the exact same left completely stock. Runs cool under standard gaming loads.

Cons: Memory is underclocked by 75mhz compared to the reference AMD GHz Edition card, so its not meeting the standards to be called a GHz Edition card. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker. Also, it squeals. Or maybe its more of a whine? I don't know, its hard to describe, it just makes this strange variable pitched tone. Its not coming from the fans, so I have no idea what it is.

Other Thoughts: Got it when it was on a borderline unbelievable sale. For sub $360, it was a complete and total steal, I feel like I have somehow taken advantage of Newegg and VisionTek. The card is awesome, and easily worth the full retail. Wishing I had the funds available to get two when the sale was still going on.

5 out of 5 eggsGhz edition 7970

Pros: stays cool, no artifacts. with new drivers, scores 10300 in 3dmark 11 with stock clocks. no coil whine, very quite!
plays everything at 60+ frames. overclocks very well too!

Cons: the red cover on fan is low quality plastic. card looks really good in pictures but its kinda ugly (my personal opinion)

Other Thoughts: i7 3770k @ 4.6ghz
VisionTek 7970 ghz edition (stock)
Mushkin 2133mhz 8gb ddr3
OCZ sata 3 ssd.
Cougar 1kw
Switch 810

5 out of 5 eggsquieter than expected

Pros: Had been reading about this card being loud, but its quieter and cooler than my gtx570. Im guessing it was all the stock 7970 cooling was a major culprit. No driver issues at all. The new cat 12.11 beta driver runs battlefield 3/ guildwars flawless(actually it did before the patch).

Cons: Nothing negative that I have seen so far.

Other Thoughts: Better than I expected honestly. Was expecting a little more noise and its been a pleasant surprise.

3 out of 5 eggsDrivers as always

Pros: Well made, powerful video card.

Cons: I could not stablize this video card. Got a blue screen way too often.

Other Thoughts: I will not buy an AMD video card again until they come up with stable drivers.

5 out of 5 eggsAs expected

Pros: Noticeable improvement over my crossfire 6850's. Guild wars 2 bounced +40-45 FPS on average. Can turn on all the eye candy now for a small performance hit.

Much quieter than my CF setup was.

Cooling seems sufficient. Have not seen temps over 65c

Cons: Very tight fit in my case. Had to move a hard drive down just to squeeze this in.

No more lifetime warranty from Visiontek. (my 4th card from them all problem free)

Other Thoughts: Like others have said, I have had this running at 1100/1500 heavy gaming for hours and has been rock solid. Overall a great card and was a steal when on sale. I'll continue purchasing Visiontek cards in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsIt is not lifetime warranty

Pros: This card runs perfectly smooth 1920x1080 ultra with all the games I threw at it. Battlefield 3, Metro 2033, Crysis Warhead. Whats more it overclocks fine. I'm currently running at 1100/1500 and have encountered not even the slightest unstability yet.

Cons: Not life time warranty as originally posted. By the time I check the details tag again, they had been changed to 3-years warranty. I registered on Visiontek. And after I made sure they confirmed my registration, I asked them via email what kind of warranty it is. They said it is 3-year not life time.

Other Thoughts: The card and the cooler does not look as fancy as the other GHz cards do. But the cooler does its job.

4 out of 5 eggsFast but drivers stink!

Pros: I liker this video card but it was unstable. Tried several drivers before RMAing it. Sticking to Nvidia from now on

Cons: drivers, unstable
