8800 Series
- Pros: love the card, the way it looks, and the way it handles the games.
- Cons: too big, too hot.
- Other Thoughts: 8800 GT (S or X)’s owner should know, your video card is built in PPU / Physx (Physics Processing Unit) already; there’s no need to buy another Physx card to maximize your game. With 8800 series, it called Quantum Effects Technology (just a difference name here guys instead used to call PPU or Physx). I read a lot of your reviews in here (almost all of them), some you guys are using single 8800 or SLI and bought extra physx card, you wasted your money and even might slow down your comp due to unbalance transfer rate on your video card and your physx card that installed on PCI slot, espically with SLI, and will create a bottlneck (PCI = 266.66 MB/s; PCI–e = 8 GB/s; GPU and PPU need to be at almost same speed and bandwidth, just like your CPU and memory). And one more thing, when you put another physx card in, and yeah, in PCI slot, you will disable your physx on your main video card, do the research and math here.
Excellent Card!
- Pros: Very satisfied with this card. I knew what to expect when I bought it, but to see it in action is still breathtaking. I used to run Company of Heroes with all settings High, shadows medium, resolution 1280x1024 at an average fps of 41 on my 7800GT. With this 8800GTS, I now run the game on Ultra settings, shadows high, 1280x1024 resolution with an average fps of 77!!!! That is nearly double the performance of my 7800GT with more eye-candy....So yeah, I'm a satisfied customer :)
- Cons: No complaints at all!
- Other Thoughts: I would consider putting an aftermarket cooling assembly on it that is lower-profile than the stock HS/F.

Get the GT or the 512 g92
- Pros: Will run newer games at decent frame rates. DX10 Ready.
- Cons: Heat issues, this card runs hot even with the bulky cooling system it has on it.
Dont get this card if you plan on running 22" widescreen moniter. It will kill your FPS.
I ended up stepping up (thank you evga) to the 512 8800GTS and its running my dual 22" widescreens without losing FPS.
PRICE- this price is so high when the better g92 cards are our there for the same or lower.
- Other Thoughts: DONT DO IT, get the other models.
beautiful picture
- Pros: The picture is a lot better than my older card. It has decent fps.
- Cons: the gt has better fps than the gts.
- Other Thoughts: cant wait until they make a card that can play crysis at very high setings
Few Pros when it comes to the Cons
- Pros: High desktop resolutions, dual screen ability, relatively quiet for its size. RAM size is odd, but fair for what it can do.
- Cons: Frequent problems with framerate issues with most games. They seem to start up just fine before they graphically degrade to the point of being unplayable. The only support I have gotten has responded that these were problems with the drivers. I cant tell you how many times I've removed files and reinstalled them back again, sometimes even in safe mode. I still havent resolved the problem so currently I have been trying to refrain from games and high graphical useage for the time being. If you think you can handle this better than me be my guest.
- Other Thoughts: EVGA uses an E-mail system to resolve problems, so if you do find a problem get ready to wait for that answer.
