Here's a video card for the gamer, engineer or artist with high standards. Using a GeForce 7950GT processor clocked at 600 MHz with 24 pixel pipelines, 512MB GDDR3 memory (with memory bandwidth of 46.4 GB/sec), you're not talking "slow display" here!

It has dual DVI connectors (with adapters so they can be used on VGA-style monitors), and an integrated TV encoder putting out HDTV, S-Video or Composite Video. SLI-ready (so make certain your power supply can handle it!), it features HDR (High Dynamic Range) for ever more realistic lighting and display effects. PCI Express support to keep up with that fast GPU, it's Vista ready and can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600 on two simultaneous displays.

The next generation of games and hi-res HDR applications is here already, so update to a card that knows how to talk to them.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performer

Pros: Great performance for its price range.

Factory-overclocked and cooled accordingly, temperatures stay moderate even under heavy usage.

Quiet; cooler never "screams" even at 100% fan-speed. It is definitely audible, but not jarring or irritating.

Easily installed.

Cons: Quickly outpaced by more current GPUs; during this era, GPU development was so rapid that some cards were moving toward obsolescence by the time they reached retailers' shelves.

Other Thoughts: This card just recently failed after 5 years of hard, daily usage as a gaming card, then later in a photo-processing rig.

No complaints, though, this thing was a champ, and everything wears out eventually. My only regret is that new cards were coming out so fast back then that waiting even 3 or 4 months made a considerable difference in performance for the same price. Things are not quite as rapid these days, as the limits of current GPU technology loom closer and closer.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card... when it lasted

Pros: I've had this card for 8 months and have nothing but great things to say about it until now. I could run any program I wanted on max settings (Oblivion, CS:S, GTA:SA, Dark Messiah). Unfortunately this all came to a sudden ending a few weeks ago.

Cons: As I was saying, my card has broken on me. I haul my PC around to all sorts of LAN Parties and the card couldn't take it as one of the capacitors came lose and fell off the card. It is because of this weakness that I do not give the card a 5.

5 out of 5 eggsBlows away my old 6800gs AGP

Pros: 512MB Gddr3. Pcie 16x. Great affordable price point. Could do 2 of them in SLI for the cost of some single 8800 model cards! Ati tool displays around 600fps average over my old 6800gs which displayed 300fps average. Haven't benchmarked it enough to give more results than that, but it's like night and day now when playing Far Cry and spiderman3. EVGA allows a 90day trade up program. Give back your card and Pay the difference for a higher model one! Cool!

Cons: No dx10 support yet, but there aren't much dx10 games I guess yet anyways. The fan could be considered loud when it is on full. I am NOT a silent pc person myself, I run however many fans I have to and at whatever speeds they need to be at to keep my case cool, because of my investment in these parts, its worth a LITTLE bit of noise pollution from my pc. Anyways, I wanted to put on my old Artic Cooling NV silencer 5 revision 2, and it didn't fit perfectly, Like some people claimed it would. The stock cooling fan seems sufficient enough, but I'd like a nicer fan system that vents air out of the case, rather than recirculating it inside the case. Only gripe so far.

Other Thoughts: I have been using a Geforece 6800GS that was overclocked to the 6800 Ultra specs, as well as unlocking the pipelines from 12 to 16, and I was happy with it for a long time. Now that It's just impossible to find AGP motherboards anymore that are worth anything, I just had to go up to PCI-E. After doing my research, I decided this card is a HUGE performance upgrade from my 6800, and it didn't break my bank! Side by side of the two cards show the improvements in specs, and when you play a game, the visuals speak for themselves.
Great deal here!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Price

Pros: Great price, works hard and stays cool.

Cons: I noticed that my CRT monitor is now getting roll interference. It was only slight before with my old card but now it's very visible. Not to mention annoying. This is not the cards fault, but mine for being late on a monitor upgrade.

Other Thoughts: This was an upgrade from an Radeon 9800 Pro. I tend to only play a few games on my PC. I am not much into overclocking or tweaking. This card worked great right out of the box. Though not the most graphic demanding game I am now able to play CoH/CoV with the graphics set to max without experiencing lag.

5 out of 5 eggs=)

Pros: Handles every game i have at maxed out settings with decent fps. Runs cool. Very slim, it's amazing so much power can come from something not more than 1 inch thick, Fits well in a full atx case but it can be a bit long for mid towers.

Cons: Even though the cooling is very sufficient, i would have liked to see a better cooling solution.

Other Thoughts: I've had this since Christmas and i bought it instead of the 600 dollar 8800 gtx, which i realize now was way overkill for just playing cs source, Replaced thermal paste with artic silver 5 for a 5 degree decrease.

1 out of 5 eggssimply the best

Pros: runs everythig i trow at it with little to no effort, minor hiccups here and there and slow dows but overall im happy with it... runs fear alright in comparison to my old ATI 9600 pro!
i would defenitely get an ugrade to the 8800 series next

Cons: none, it does what it needs to do... somewhat noisy but thats what speakers are for

Other Thoughts: I would buy another product from EVGA in the near future.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Got it overclocked to 682MHz / 1640MHz STABLE without any volt modding at all. Period.

278FPS avg when playin' CS:S at 1600x1200 Max all settings on a 3.6GHz Pressy

Cons: Stock cooling heatsink isnt' that flat, and you can see the grains on the copper where they shaped the heatsink. Lapped it a little w/ some 1000Grit and now the temps are down from 45C Idle to 34C Idle w/ some Arctic silver 5

Other Thoughts: I killed it (cracked a resistor) after doing a volt mod on it.. i was at 702MHz stable, then i tried removing ink and cracked resistor :( lol..

Man i loved that card :(

5 out of 5 eggsrobyterrier

Pros: It yields outstanding graphics! An upgrade worth the price! Got my $15.00 rebate in great time!

Cons: With eVGA's KO & overclocked this baby runs hot...Removed the thermal junk that eVGA uses and am presently experimenting with Zalman's ZM STG1, Artic Silver 5...keeping track of my test results and trying not to be a perfectionist!!! So far I've been able to lower temp about 8 degrees (must await aging process)

Other Thoughts: I'm thankfull that this is the highest video card upgrade that I can make for my system!!!!!!
