Great Card
- Pros: Puts my old but still highly capable 7900GTO to shame. If you're willing to OC, these cards can achieve amazing numbers. I'm at 600/900 with a 3DMark06 score of 9900. No need to push it any more for now but I've tested 650/1000 for awhile without problems.
- Cons: Buggy drivers but hasn't been a big deal for me yet. Needs other software to OC and check temps (ntune for example) Hotter than most other cards. You can adjust the GPU fan speed with ntune if desired though.
- Other Thoughts: With my Antec 900 case (5 120mm fans and a 200mm fan) this card idles at 48C and hits high 60's under load. With more modest case cooling expect to hit 80C+ under load, this is normal for the 8800's however.
Much better than the 320MB version
- Pros: 640MB of video memory! Overclocks to (almost) 8800GTX performance and is a solid match for the 2900XT when overclocked.
- Cons: Size. Heat, but to a lesser extent than the 320MB card (see below).
- Other Thoughts: I upgraded to this after 3 months with my 320MB 8800GTS and boy am I happy. Oblivion ran well before, but now it runs amazingly smooth on higher settings. Surprisingly, this runs 5 or 6 degrees Celsius cooler than my 320MB version. That, I figure, is due to the lower clock and memory settings. This makes me happy since I'm not even overclocking it and getting better performance. However, I did test it overclocked and the temps did get upwards of 70 degrees Celsius.
For the price, can't beat the results. Drivers are finally coming around and I'm definitely seeing better performance. Who knows what it does in DX10, but, frankly, at this point, I don't care.

Good card
- Pros: I did a lot of research before deciding on this card. EVGA is a solid company, and this card is evidence of that. I'm an avid gamer..I log several hours a week fraggin noobs, and this card has handled everything I've thrown at it with style. If you're looking at the GTX, take a look at the two cards side by side and ask yourself if the small difference is worth all that extra money.
- Cons: When I bought this card, it was pretty costly, but then again it was the second best card on the market at the time. WIth the 9 series cards out now, this is a GREAT buy for someone who wants the best, but doesn't want to pay 500 dollars for a card.
- Other Thoughts: I wish had I gotten 2 and SLI'd them
Ok card
- Pros: I bought this card for a build for my friend. We paired it up with a E6750 and a Evga 680i motherboard. The good thing about this card is with the stock cooler it can still be overclocked to about 600mhz core.
- Cons: this may not be the card or the cpu is bottle necking it but in FSX its is quite etchy on high setting when my X1950xt isnt etchy at all. Oh and i does seem to run a little bit hot but you can still oc the core and memory with a stock cooler just fine.
Great Video card
- Pros: Fast, Fast, Fast. DX10, HDCP, works great with Vista
- Cons: A little warm, big, costly
- Other Thoughts: I hope the A3 works with the AR for SLI... gotta save up some $$$ before i can get SLI
