2 out of 5 eggsburned

Pros: worked like a dream...

Cons: but it stopped working....

Other Thoughts: well...i guess im one of the unlucky to get a faulty card. Worked great for 2 weeks or so, then tanked. RMA, wasted cash, etc. Dont touch these less your feeling lucky.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Amazing card high frames, low temps if you have the right cooling, stock cooler is OK if your case is good you'll be fine, no artifacting, no over heating good deal.

Cons: none...SLI would be overkill

Other Thoughts: I play mostly bf2, it averages around 70-80+ fps most of the time with only 1gb ram and still no lag w/ a little overclock on my cpu and another gig of ram it'll be set, hitman game also looks great and is a nice bundle, quake 4 also runs super smooth 4xaa 8xaf high maxfps=60 I never dipped below 60 :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: This is a great card. I removed the fan and set a 7900 waterblock on there. Have not played with it to much yet, but plan on it very soon. Greatn bang for the buck! Oh Yea, NE rox!

Cons: None that I can think of, price of course, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I would say if you have to $$ buy 2 of these, rather then one 7950. Just a thought. I will b buying a second one soom!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent buy for the money!

Pros: I got the card about 2 months ago, put it in my ASUS A8N5X mobo (1 gig DRR 400 3200, athlon 3500), runs Oblivion at Ultra High all details, Bloom lighting 4x AA, 1024x768 at 20 outdoors 60 indoors.
Prey runs at Max settings, 8x AA, 16X Anisopteric, and 1600x1200 with like 40-60 FPS!!! On multiplayer I hardly lose quality!

Cons: None that I can think of, mine doesn't run hot like you hear other people's have.

Other Thoughts: Be sure you plug a PSU's six pin cable (or 2 4 pin molexes connected to the six pin) into the additional power adapter. I had a brain fart, forgot to do it. Took me a while to figure out. :D

4 out of 5 eggsFast, loud

Pros: Powerful enough for today's games at a good price/performance ratio. I've been playing Oblivion at 1024 resolution with settings turned up and it looks great and silky smooth. I haven't even bothered to tweak the resolution or settings for max performance.

Cons: As I expecteed, the fan was by far the loudest component in my new PC. I immediately replaced the heatsink with a Zalman VF9000-CU and its now the second quietest fan.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Video Card.

Pros: This card works excellent and I have had no problems what so ever. Popped it into my machine, it worked and then I installed a Zalman aftermarket cooler. Works great together and temp is at a constant 40C degrees and sometimes 45C degrees under heavy load.

All games play great and at max settings. System is 3500+ AMD6 2 gigs XMS corisar RAM, on an ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe motherboard. highly recommend this card in conjunction with a Zalman aftermarket cooler.

Cons: The fact that there are no cons to mention is a con.

Other Thoughts: The cheese is old and moldy.

5 out of 5 eggsWas yours bad?

Pros: Many of these cards did work, and well I might add! For those that didn't, EvGA has adressed the faulty Samsung memory problem and switched to a new SKU with their 7900gt's, the AR line. If you have a 7900gt that artifacts, eVga will RMA your old faulty board for one with the new memory chips. Check eVGA's site to see what boards are covereed.I think it'ssupposed to be RUSH Shipping, but I'll see when I send mine out this week.

Cons: If it's broke, you have to send it out. But stuff happens and at least their doing the honorable thing and making things right. READING FROM EVGA:

EVGA has been working out the new SKUs to resolve the issues that some users are experiencing with artifacting during 3DMark06 and random games; we have been manufacturing new cards based on a new AVL list.

Here are the details on the new 7900 cards:

* "New" AVL Memory (Approved Vendor List)
* RoHS compliant
* Test results are extremely positive

If you are an EVGA user that is experiencing artifacting with your 7900 Series products we ask that you submit for an advanced replacement through our website directly. If you are not experiencing artifacting then there is no need for you to submit for an RMA, the number of cards that are having this issue is very low in comparison to the number of 7900 Series of cards that have shipped.

Please allow 2 business days your card to ship once you have submitted for a replac

Other Thoughts: So there you have it, proof that mistakes happen and good copanies are there to make right! I know I'll be sending my GT in for fixin. Big ups to eVGA for catching this and doing the right thing! If i got it from the egg, and not a step-up I would have returned it to them.

3 out of 5 eggsGood bang for buck, but loud!

Pros: Great FPS and OC potential for your dollar

Cons: Fan is extremely loud and THERE IS NO FAN THROTTLE/CONTROL! Even a registry hack that has worked to unlock fan control on other cards doesn't work on this cause the fan is simply fed power w/o any kind of physical chip to control it's speed.

Other Thoughts: Not eVGA or nVidias fault but, Arctic Cooling doesn't make a cooler for this card and as they're the only manufacturer that I've found to make VGA coolers that don't overlap your other PCI slots, I'm basically left with two choices: Stick with the stock fan, or get a huge overlaping Zxxxan or something similar.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast, surprisingly power efficient, supports all of the features games require today and all of the OpenGL extensions I develop with personally.

Cons: The stock fan is annoying. It is not hugely loud, but none-the-less very noticable over other fan and HDD noise.

Other Thoughts: EVGA's warranty still applies in full after installing an aftermarket HSF and/or RAM heatsinks, which I have done: resulting in a massive 16 degrees Celcius core temperature decrease.

I would highly recommend installing the newest drivers avialable if this isn't completely obvious already.
