NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together to provide best-in-class performance. The 9600GT is the solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready, has a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date system and NVIDIA SLI technology doubles your performance by running two graphics cards in parallel.

Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are also built in. The card's core clock runs at 740MHz, relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9600's 64 stream processors which are fed by 512MB of 256-bit 1950MHz GDDR3 memory.

Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, and imagery can also be output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9600GT delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with brilliant clarity to give you an entertainment experience that is easy on the eyes – as well as on the wallet.

  • newegg PCI Express 2.0 Interface The PCI Express 2.0 interface delivers an ultra-high data rate of up to 16 GB/s, and is backward compatible with PCI Express x16 (PCI-E 1.0), so you can upgrade the graphics of your existing system with the EVGA 512-P3-N862-AR.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Support The DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.

Pros: When its working right this is a very nice card thats hard to beat at this price.

Cons: I got two of these when they first came out earlier this year. I have had to RMA both cards and the ones I have now are starting to go out as well...

Other Thoughts: I'm not saying don't get this gpu just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

Rig: Antec 900, ASUS Striker II Formula, Intel Core 2 Duo E6850, 2 gig Mushkin DDR2 1066, WD Caviar SE16 500gig hd, Antec 550watt psu, and two of there in SLI.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Price/Performance

Pros: Nice price to performance ratio. my MB doesn't do SLI so I can't comment on this. Runs all modern games (crysis, AoC, etc) with high detail.

Cons: To max all settings in modern games you'll have to run 2 of these in SLI

Other Thoughts: Still able to squeeze a little OC.. even though it is factory OC'd.

2 out of 5 eggsnot worth the trouble

Pros: when it works, it works well

Cons: it blacks out under heavy loads. meaning right when you are about to get ambushed in bioshock or right when you get to a boss in world of warcraft, your computer crashes and you have to restart to recover.

3 out of 5 eggsOk* Card

Pros: A few good/great things about this card. Number one being the price. For the card your getting. Its a very cheap. Its runs fairly cool. Never over heats. Even under heavly load and factory over clocking. Speeds are great when its working*

Cons: This would be a great card if it wasn't for the black screening when under a heavy load. Games like World of Warcraft, CoD4, and even Battlefield 2 make this happen. You have to restart your computer when this happens. A big pain.

Other Thoughts: Other than the black screen of death. This is a good card. You can stop the crashing by downloading the Over-Clocking Software from Nvidia. You can slow the card down with this software. I haven't had a problem running the core at 675MHz and the memory at 900. (Factory settings is at: Core- 740, Memory 990)

Pros: Installed, booted up, it works. Replaced 7600 GT KO. Runs 10c cooler @ 39c idle. No blackscreens, no hiccups. Framerates, across the board, up 150%. And the 7600 was a decent card (580 gpu, 1400

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Antec 900 case, Nspire 600 Watt PS,MSI P35 Neo 2 FR mb, 4gig G-Skill 800 mem, e6750 2.66 cpuO.Ced to 2.8. Has any body overclocked this beast? A Friend and I went in together and bought 2 of these. And yes, we got then from Newegg. Always great service all around.

5 out of 5 eggsWas an ATI fan....not anymore

Pros: Maxed out on most of the games I have....plus WOW and Hellgate never looked sooooooo good :)

Cons: None just yet read below.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these and running SLI with no bridge. Don't know how but it still works in SLI. From what I heard, the bridge just makes the preformace even better but all my stuff is working just fine...Weird, someone explain this one :)
