NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together for best-in-class performance. The 9600GT is the solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date system. Its NVIDIA SLI technology doubles your performance range letting you use two graphics cards in parallel.
Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are also built in. The card's core clock runs at 650MHz, relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9600's 64 stream processors fed by 512MB of 256-bit 1800MHz GDDR3 memory. Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors.
Imagery can also be output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9600GT delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with brilliant clarity to give you an entertainment experience that is easy on the eyes – as well as on the wallet.

- Pros: Numbers Speak. Had 8500GT 3DMark06 scrore was 3068. W/9600GT it was 11176. On Crysis bench w/8500GT on GPU Test 13 FPS. W/9600 55FPS. No other changes were made.
I was on a budget so Im very happy.
- Cons: Card is Very long. Like almost twice as long as my 8500GT. Make sure your case has room.
Runs a little hot. It raised my MB Temp from 22C to 29C CPU From 25C to 30C. No changes so the card would have to be the cause of it.
- Other Thoughts: Wish I had an SLI 16X2 board.
May add fan since case has room for one more.
RIG; WinXP Pro 64, Asus M2NE,6gigs DDR2800,AMD 64X2 3.2ghz, WD 7,200rpm HD,9600GT, SB Audigy2, Antech 900
Awesome
- Pros: I had a very tight budget so I couldn't get the 8800GT, but this card is a beast and does well for it
s price. Easily maxes bioshock in dx10, FEAR, COD4, Orange Box (Max settings, very high textures, 8 x csaa 16xaf)Can't wait to get crysis and try it.
- Cons: Fan is loud, runs a bit hot.
- Other Thoughts: Made the sound in bioshock stop working completely after installing this card, yet to find a solution. I upgraded from an x1950pro and completely uninstalled drivers then installed nvidia drivers.
Big improvement from my x1950, this is a good card.

- Pros: Works great with my ASUS P5Q Deluxe mob, Intel E8400 cpu, and G.Skill ddr2 800 ram. Smooth & fast. Call of Duty 4 ROCKS with this card!
- Cons: None so far.
Works great in Dell Inspiron 530
- Pros: I installed this in my new Dell Inspiron 530 system and it works great. The Inspiron 530 case has the hard drives mounted horizontally so getting this card in the PCI-E slot was a little difficult. Also, the Inspiron 530 comes in two varieties. If purchased with a Core 2 Quad it has a 350w power supply. If the system is purchased with any other kind of CPU, it has only a 250w power supply.
- Cons: None yet
- Other Thoughts: I initially forgot to plug in the 6-pin power connector. The card still ran but at a greatly reduced performance. Make sure you plug in the power cable for the video card!
- Pros: HUGE upgrade over integrated chip. Oblivion runs at 50-60 FPS maxed, 1680 x 1050 res (although I did have to up the fan speed).
- Cons: Runs a little hot on stock settings... used EVGA's Precision tuner to up the speed and have had no problems since. Very tight fit in a Dell Inspiron case, but it did fit.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent experience with Newegg!
