NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together for best-in-class performance. The 9800GTX is a balanced solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date systems. The 9800 supports Quad SLI to really crank your performance by using up to four graphics cards.
The card's core clock has been boosted to run at 700MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 128 stream processors which are fed by 512MB of 256-bit 2200MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.0 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are also built in to render even the most intense environmental effects, heavy shading, multiple light sources, or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.
Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with rock solid performance that will keep you in the thick of the action.

Ge-Force 9800GTX
- Pros: Good performances in almost all the most demanding games besides Crysis. It runs smoothly and quiet at idle, and gets the job done. Not impressive in terms of 3D-Mark06 scores but my mb is not a gaming one. Needs two 6-pin connectors and at least 500W in your power supply.
- Cons: This is a good upgrade if you own a series 7 or older nVidia graphic card, it will be a good step up from a 8600GT/S but if you own a 8800GT/S/X you will not be WOWED by this card performances.
The fan is too slow in auto mode, and nTune fails to fix this. Riva tuner does the job. Waiting for EVGA precision.
- Other Thoughts: I am not impressed by this card, being an owner of an EVGA Ge-Force 8800GT.
Good upgrade
- Pros: Awesome gaming card. I upgraded from a 8600 gts and this card blows that one out of the water. Playing all games on max settings and all are running great. Gears of War looks even better on my computer then it does for my xbox 360.
- Cons: A little big, but, i made it fit inside :D.
- Other Thoughts: My friend has a 8800 GT and my card has about 10-15 fps advantage on it. But, this card does come with dx 10.1, which is nice for vista users.

A beast, nuff said.
- Pros: A complete beast of a card, for the price this thing is a g-o-d... I'd be willing to pay $500 for the performance out of this thing, my PC no longer lags AT ALL with this and a Q6600! If you want a stable PC for cheap that could still out perform half of the gamer PC's out there, get this with a Q6600!
- Cons: Runs at 60 Celsius idle, 66 Celsius full load. Good in terms of heat increase under load, but 140 degrees Fahrenheit is a bit too much for comfort... Even when merely idling...
- Other Thoughts: In-game specs coupled with 4 GB's DDR2 800 RAM and a Q6600 2.4 GHz stock and max graphics set: 120-150 FPS in Unreal Tournament 2004, 60 FPS in Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour (Possibly capped? Dips down to 10 FPS when the game is being heavily bogged down with maximum players), 64 FPS (Capped) in Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, 30-100 in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (But down to 5-15 when a huge coaster is being placed). Sorry for not installing Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, and Command and Conquer 3 yet, I've been rather busy with messing with my G15 LCD screen ;D.
Awesome!
- Pros: This thing kicks complete rear-end. I've had it a month now, I don't know what the bench markings are on it for me but it's running Crysis and Age of Conan on max resolution and graphics with virtually no problems. I'm coming from a Radeon 9800 PRO so this was a big upgrade.
- Cons: It's relatively large fitting into the case but goes in fine.
GREAT -
- Pros: built a 9800 gtx / quad 6600 / ps & c 610watt psu
make sure u have good enough psu for this, its also HUGE cod4 250 FPS 1024 graphics on
- Cons: HUGE card, takes up 2 pci slots thick wise, and about a FOOT long
gets hot, change fan to 100 % and keep the control panel open, other wise it will reset on reboots and when u close out the program, they have fixed this yet
- Other Thoughts: its just SUPER BIG, get a big case
