NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards combines cutting edge technology, and advanced capabilities for best-in-class performance. The 9800GX2 is the solution for your most demanding graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the latest system. The 9800 supports Quad SLI to seriously ramp your performance options with up to four graphics cards for insane flow rates.
The card's core clock runs at 675MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 256 stream processors which are fed by 1GB of 512-bit 2100MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.1 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD technologies render even the most intense environmental effects or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.
Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors or output via the HDMI port. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with solid performance. If you are serious about your graphics – and if your motherboard can take it, the 9800GX2 can dish it out.

Completly Awsome
- Pros: This card plays Bf2 like I have never seen before, Oh the details in the sky and bricks and people. I can shoot better because I can see better. This card is worth every penny the colors and details are very vivid. The colors are so brite I have never seen the likes of. Even on this old Cathoid Ray 17 inch its unbelieveable. I have the reslolution turned up to the Maxwell House. I get 100 frames all of the time everything Maxed out. It dont run hot either I dont know what some people are talking about they probaly don't have a big enough power supply for this bad boy I'm using a 1200 watt xigma with all the amps you need.
- Cons: no way
- Other Thoughts: Get one, even if you dont got the money. Its a gift from The Almighty somebody else said. I'm just using one card havent got enough credit left to get another one for my sli but who needs it anyway. Someday I hope to get a high def board but Asus needs to make one for AMD because I dont need a Intel chip this 5000 black works good enough.
amazing card
- Pros: all around amazing card, it even supports audio on the hdmi via an audio pass through cable (but i beleave all 9800 gx2's do that)
- Cons: you need a large power supply, but still less than you would if you were running dual 8800 ultras in sli ... and it did get rather hot (now i've got a good pci slot fan under it so i don't have any problems with that now)
- Other Thoughts: extremetech ran a 9800 gx2 through a few tests against an 8800 ultra, dual 8800 ultras, dual 8800 gts, and the best ati card ... they used the asus 9800 gx2 and it trailed slightly behind the dual 8800 ultras in most of the graphics tests, and was roughly even with the ati card and dual 8800 gts ... but in the power test the 9800 gx2 used less power in idle than any of the except one ... this card is slightly faster than the asus 9800 gx2 so it might do better, altho i can't say for sure
