5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: - Been running strong for over 3 years
- Runs games, movies and everything else in 1920 x 1080
- Only requires 1x 6 pin PSU connector.
- Cool looking shroud design, however, it's face down so you can't see it
- 1 GB of GDDR3
- Dual slot
- Dual DVI
- S/video out

Cons: None, that I can really think of.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card because the 4/5 series were just coming out (or not yet at all) and VERY expensive. It has served me well over the 3 years I have owned it. However, the cooling fan has stopped working. Thank goodness my NZXT Apollo case has a 120mm fan right where the card sits, so that's been cooling the GPU! I will soon replace this card with a GT430 for now until I build my next Beast.

5 out of 5 eggsDefinitely Good card

Pros: This card rocks on all but the most demanding video games, and even then, with slightly lower settings it still rocks. This card has handled every game I've played and done so admirably. I play on a 21" CRT so ultra hi resolutions aren't needed, but definitely possible. It's a great card for the money, and you wont be disappointed unless you can't handle the thought of playing WOW at less than 60fps or so. Seriously though. If you need a budget card, that packs a lot of power, I recommend this card whole heartedly. Just be sure, it's not going to block your sata ports on your mother board ^_^

Cons: Not a con, but goes into other thoughts

Other Thoughts: The length of the card may be a problem if you have a micro atx motherboard. It wasn't a problem with my old motherboard, but when I upgraded I didn't pay attention to where the sata ports are, and now I can't use two of them. This is my desktop workstation so blocking those ports is not an option. I've had to downgrade to a lower class vid card, that would fit length wise.

Basically, if your sata ports are directly in line with your PCI-E 16x slot, and it's a MicroATX, this card will probably get in the way. If no ports are lined up with the PCI-E 16x, this card should work beautifully for you.

5 out of 5 eggsThis Video card is awesome

Pros: 1GB video card for a decent price. I bought this video card for my girlfriends computer and it increased her gaming performace tremedously.

Cons: LONG!!! A lot of the cards now a days are long so you expect it... so it's not really a con just an annoyance luckily her case is a full tower so it fits fine.

Other Thoughts: I have this same card in my desktop that is why I bought it again for her computer. I'd definately recommend this to people who want to buy a decent 1gig video card without spending a bunch.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for Dell 4700!

Pros: The Dell 4700 is a very good work horse of a computer, but its cooling system is weak in that it's fan (in the back toward the top, right under the power supply) blows inward instead of out. Fans near the top should blow out (hot air rises), and fans near the bottom should blow in (cool air input, to work with the natural conventionary flow). This makes it a bad idea to install a major heat making device inside of a Dell 4700.
This EVO card was the only NVIDIA 9000 series, PCI-e and dual monitor that vented its hot air outside of the computer through its "double wide" configuration and internal cover and fan.
The other thing I was concerned about after reading other reviews was whether the 4700's power supply would be adequate.
Two months later, there have been no problems with heat or power, with hours of use per day running Adobe CS4 for on line college courses and a dual monitor set up, one of them Full HD capable.
This card couldn't have been more perfect for the situation!

Cons: Haven't seen any yet.

Other Thoughts: If I couldn't have found this card with this set of features, I would have to have compromized in some other way. Other cards didn't vent to the outside of the case, like this one, and their heat would have just risen right up to the 4700's processor and added heat to the oven inside. Since the 4700 makes its hot air flow against it's natural forces by drawing cool air in at the top, this EVO card cooperates by drawing hot air out at the bottom (its own hot air, plus more from the inside of the computer with it's large fan). The Dell 4700 is hard on hard drives with its poor cooling. This video card seems to help keep the case cool inside rather than adding heat. It couldn't have been more perfect for the challenging situation. I highly recommend this card for a Dell 4700 or any other case with a backwards cooling system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great card-runs Flight Simulator with no issues (paired with a quad-core Q8400 and 8GB of RAM)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Takes up a lot of room in the case. Don't forget about the supplemental power connection (I did but was reminded by Vista)

3 out of 5 eggsRebate - shemate ?????

Pros: Card is fine but I don' see a real benefit to a Gb vs 512mg of memory

Cons: Rebate is a joke - Invalid UPC # ##?? - I take the time to jump thru the hoops, do the paper work then nada. For the $$ would have bought a better card if the rebates won't be honored.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Please contact us at rebates@evga.com to correct this.

Thanks,
Jacob

5 out of 5 eggsDavid

Pros: Its a great video card. For the price it works quite well.
The fan on the video card is very quiet.

Cons: None in my opinion. It may not play some of the newer games at max settings but its not a big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid performance!

Pros: Great image quality for picture and video editing. I have also tried some games with it such as Half-life 2, Bioshock, and Company of Heroes - all perform excellent at max graphics settings.

Cons: A little big - not an issue for me, but perhaps for someone that needs the space in their box.

Other Thoughts: Great value.

3 out of 5 eggsWait and see game

Pros: EVGA?

Cons: Bad out of the box, the board looked reworked out of the box, aka a "problem child from day one. I was a LINE repair tech for many years and a big tech company and when you remove a board from a new unsealed box it should not be covered in solder flux and finger prints.

Other Thoughts: have 4 other EVGA cards the work flawlessly
