Great card..
- Pros: Great card, especially for what they are selling at now days. 448 bit bus and 896mb memory can run 1920x1200 with no problems. In 2d mode the card clocks down to 300mhz gpu and 100mhz ram. Very efficient. Mine idles at 39c with 72% on the fan.
- Cons: Been using the card since December and haven't had a single problem with it.
- Other Thoughts: I have a 55nm GTX 260 in my other rig and honestly there is no difference. The 55nm version uses an all aluminum cooler while this one incorporates copper into it's design. They pretty much nix each other out.
Better get the 55nm instead
- Pros: Good C/P ratio......
- Cons: Consume too much power
Not what I expected
- Pros: Runs games smooth, just not the one I wanted : (
- Cons: Card if very long and may block SATA connections or may not fit in your case!
- Other Thoughts: Well... The entire reason I bought this card was to play Empire Total War and max out the settings. So the fact I cant do that prevents me from saying this card is awsome.
I came from a 9800GT where I could play all settings on high. The 260gtx STILL couldnt handle it and shows little performance upgrade over the 9800GT playing Empire Total War. (I do know nvidia was having driver compatibility issues with that game, so this may be the problem)
All other games that I have played are sort of old school, so I cant really rate its performance on the newer games. Just the one game I wanted to play, it doesn't do so well on :(
This card will fit in an Antec 900 case, but you will have to take off the rear exhaust fan in the middle drive bays.
I guess the purpose of this review is just for the ones who are looking to upgrade their system like I did for ETW, but understand that there are driver issues, and you still cant get the settings past high, and add the extras such as smoke
