1 out of 5 eggseh

Pros: Installed easily

Cons: Full screen video streaming went horribly out of sync (non full screen was okay.)

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my Dimension 4600 (with 4GB ram) to replace the 128mb ATI board that died. I figured 4x the video memory would be an improvement, but no.

I tried watching a show from a Network TV website, and as soon as I went full-screen, the video started lagging horribly behind the audio. This is a somewhat basic video demand, not even gaming...

This might be okay if all you want to do is type documents. Needless to say, this is going back, and I'll try to find something else.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey there Heather,
The issues that you described sound as though they could be due to driver conflict from your previous ATI card. If you haven't already, we suggest taking a moment to remove any old drivers and installing the latest drivers from our website to see if it helps resolve your situation. If this doesn't help, please feel free to contact our 24/7 technical support line so that we may help resolve this issue for you. We can be reached at 1-888-881-3842 option 1, or by email at newegg@evga.com.
Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support

4 out of 5 eggsEvga Video Card

Pros: Fast shipment.... easy to install and video was perfect.

Cons: Unfortunately it failed after about 2 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Fortunately, it was still under warranty and still under warranty so maybe I'll get a new video card or mine returned repaired.

4 out of 5 eggsA fine product for older motherboards

Pros: This AGP card should work in just about all AGP slots, including AGP Pro. My thing is to avoid purchasing video cards with fans, because the fan is usually what breaks first and is not terribly replaceable. This card fulfills basic productivity desktop+some basic gaming spec for an older motherboard.

An important gotcha to the motherboard I am using it in: As video memory increases, main system memory must (eventually) decrease. While a chipset-dependent consideration, I cannot use this card on an AMD chipset from the early 2000s if I install more than 2.5 GB of main system memory. Chipset in use:

00:00.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] AMD-760 MP [IGD4-2P] System Controller (rev 11)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] AMD-760 MP [IGD4-2P] AGP Bridge
00:07.0 ISA bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] AMD-768 [Opus] ISA (rev 05)

Older AGP cards, with less than 512 MB video memory, do work in the system with 4 GB main system memory, this one will not: There is a memory overlap here not contemplated when the motherboard/chipset was released.

I'll live with it as I've worn out several AGP/AGP Pro cards on this motherboard (ASUS A7M266-D with ACPI BIOS Revision 1011 Beta 003).

While I might be able to use more main system memory by tweaking BIOS settings, at a certain point over ten years of system age, it's just not worth my time, ya' know?

Cons: none that are the card's fault.

4 out of 5 eggsGood as it gets for AGP

Pros: $10.00 rebate, 512MB, reasonable performance.

Cons: None for what it is.

Other Thoughts: I installed this in a frankencoble put together with an old Intel MB, Pentium 4 Processor, 2 gigs of ram, a couple old HD's found under my desk and an old Hauppauge TV card. This video card the only thing I had to buy outright. Makes a great TV and backup storage system!

I ordered this using free shipping on the 23rd and received it the next day...go figure, LOL.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent AGP card

Pros: Inexpensive (especially when on sale).
Windows 7 compatible.

Cons: 64-bit RAM interface.
Aging AGP card connection.
DirectX 9 compatibility can actually limit some of the Win 7 functionality.

Other Thoughts: I picked up a couple of these to repurpose a couple AGP-based systems.
They work well enough for basic Win 7 uses, but you're not going to do any high-end gaming with them.
Catch 'em on sale for best value.

4 out of 5 eggsOldie but still has value

Pros: AGP works, Still supported drivers from Nvidia

Cons: none if you know this card and your old system

Other Thoughts: I bought this for $89 in 2009, to update my sons pc. it had an AMD athalon 5200 with 2x 512 megs ram. It allowed him to play Crysis and B&W and COD...is now in use with his Mom who watches stream vids and plays some games. Was well woth the money then, and is stiil going well.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video

Pros: Great card, replaced my old FX5500 and the difference is amazing. Graphics are much better and smoother in games. No fan is a quiet plus as well

Cons: None,

Other Thoughts: I know it's an older AGP, but I'll be using this computer a while longer so I might as well enjoy it.

4 out of 5 eggsAGP Graphics Card

Pros: Being an older style graphics card, this was one of the best options available. Supports an older computer running Windows 7, and browsing is fast without any lags. It's not used for gaming.

Cons: a little pricey for such an older piece of equipment.

Other Thoughts: I prefer the fanless graphics card like this for a computer built mainly for internet browsing. This is not a gaming card, but it serves it's intended purpose well.
