Pros: Replaced a factory card that burn up.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Worked when I put it in. I replaced it on a costumers pc.

3 out of 5 eggsAnother one bites the dust...

Pros: Great while it worked. I was using this card in my Hackintosh HTPC.

Cons: Died after a few days with vertical green stripes in BIOS screens. Just filled out the RMA.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for an inexpensive low profile card. This card worked great while it lasted. Hope that the replacement lasts longer.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete Garbage

Pros: It didn't destroy my motherboard.

Cons: DOA. Tried in 3 systems. The card's BIOS screen is garbled prior to system POST in all three. Card almost works in 800x600 with weird stripes and glitches prior to driver installation. Driver installation causes BSOD or full lock-up in XP Pro SP3 every time. Have tried several variations of the driver.

Other Thoughts: I've been professionally building systems since the 80386 days. EVGA generally makes quality cards (especially for the money), but evidently their QC has declined. Lost 2 hours of labor, travel, and must ship back. This card has now cost me over $200 is lost time and wages. Out of $50k+ biz between me and NewEgg over the last 4 years, this is the FIRST DOA product I have ever received. What a waste of time!

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,
We apologize for the issue you have experienced. Unfortunately a faulty product is possible. We do stand behind our product and would like to replace it. You can contact me at nickm@evga.com if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you,

Nick

4 out of 5 eggsgf9400gt 512mb

Pros: Card ships with a low-profile mounting bracket. Excellent Newegg service, as usual.

Cons: See thoughts, might be non-issue with the card.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card as a budget solution for installation in a Dell Optiplex GX755 small form factor. It fits in the chassis perfectly, albeit a little tight on space between the bottom panel and the card's fan.. It works perfectly for the intended application; low-profile mounting with a CUDA gpu.

The system mentioned above only has PCIe1.x capability, and so the card does not perform as expected in CUDA applications (BOINC specifically, it crunches at about 90MFLOPs). Does not run overly hot and has not failed after several months of 24/7 100% load crunching.

4 out of 5 eggsOk for daily tasks

Pros: -Low power consumption (It went into a build with a 350w PSU)
-Runs cool
-Runs most MMos stable, albeit lowest settings

Great for just watching videos and surfing the net

Cons: Gaming ability is absolutely terrible, HL2, even on lowest settings, would artifact and hang.

Other Thoughts: If you're on a budget and need something for a slim case or just don't plan on gaming, great card for you. Gamers stay away, most games will barely run it, unless you're building a budget WoW or Eve machine.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat price and decent brand name

Pros: Unreal Tournament 3 looks superb. A big step up from a 7300 LE.
Fit my 2006 Dell XPS 410 perfectly (PCIe x16 1.1 slot, vid card was backwards compat).
Comes with adaptor cables and a dual-slot bracket housing!

Cons: Huge fan on card is louder than my processor fan.
OpenGL 2.1 (not 3.0 as advertised).

Other Thoughts: Check the Wikipedia article on "NVIDIA card comparisons". It really helped.
