5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Bought to replace my integrated HD 3200 and couldn't be happier. I can run Source games at the highest settings at around 60 FPS online when used with my 8GB/quad-core computer, and games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion look great and run smooth. Reasonably quiet when not in-game and about average in-game. Very good price.

Cons: It could be just a little quieter, but no real complaints.

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA 9600 GT Low Power

Pros: I love this card. I got the video power I expected without having to upgrade my power supply. I don't game so I don't need the newest video card. This card, along with a Phenom II X2 550BE processor, allows me to edit photos and SD video on the Adobe Elements platform with no problems or lag.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Research before purchase keeps me happy with New Egg and products I purchase!

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice

Pros: Great card. I wanted something well under $100 and I found this around 65 bucks! Can't beat the price.

Cons: Hot! It comes with a sweet overclocker and temp program. When I opened it up the fan was on auto and around 35% but the gpu was running at 76C! Thats too warm for my liking with no load what so ever. I turned auto off and put that fan onto 95%. Major difference, dropped it to 48C. Same sound (none over a stock intel cpu heatsink) at both speeds so might as well leave it near max.

Other Thoughts: Great card for the price. If you want to get something a little nicer and future protected I'd suggest something in the 260+ range, the 250's are just 9800s renamed. They are nearly double the price however and this card was just for an old pc for dual monitoring.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card works great, I'm not a gamer so I don't know how it would do at that. Vista's performance test was a 5.9.

Cons: None for what I use it for.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Low power is why I bought this card, as well as the fact that it took up much less real estate on my micro ATX board. The add on utilities work well with the card and I have made use of them.

Cons: None that I know of. I don't feel it runs hot compared to any other 9 series Nvidia board. So far, it's as cool as other cards I have had.

Other Thoughts: Thanks to NewEgg as Always.

4 out of 5 eggsLow Power GPU

Pros: -Recognized without any problems in Win7 and Ubuntu.
-Low power is always nice
-Good price
-Dual DVI-out

Cons: -Runs a little warm, like others have stated.
-Again, like was said before, the fan does have a slight buzzing to it, but that became less noticable once the case sides were back on.
-It was hard to tell but it seems to be that the fan blows into the heatsink, so toward the front of the case. If you have intake fans in the front like me, that may not be the best arrangement for airflow, although I don't anticipate too many problems. I just wish they would have directed the airflow out the back.

Other Thoughts: -Haven't tested it under a heavy gaming load yet, but I'm not a heavy gamer. It should be able to run games pretty well, unless it's the latest on highest settigns (but then what are you looking in this price-range for?)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for upgrade from integrated video

Pros: Low Power: Saved my upgrade of an older desktop since I didn't need a new power supply.

Good Performance: WAY better than my integrated video, plenty for high res and high frame rates on most games

Narrow Profile: Fit well in my somewhat crowded pci-e slot without blocking any other slots.

Price: Great deal, perfect for a mid-life upgrade

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Performance at Low Power

Pros: Nice performance for low power stock machines. Nice price at less than $75. I placed the 9600GT into my new Gateway DX4200-09 (Quad Core AMD 1.8Mhz / 4GB RAM) which had poor performing ATI 3200 Integrated Graphics. Since I spent less than $400 on this computer, I wanted the best card I could find that would operate on the 300W power supply. This card worked great.

I can run many older games and some newer games at full 1080p (1900x1080) with very playable performance (Bioshock, HL2, TF2, COD4, TR:Underworld, L4D) and many of the newer games are very playable at approx 1300x800 with AAx4 (FarCry2, Crysis, Assassins Creed, GTA4, 007QS, COD:WaW). I was very impressed. NewEgg shipment arrived within a week (as usual).

Cons: Some video tearing on some games, which is usually fixed with VSYNC ON options. As usual for graphic card updates, don't use drivers on disk because they are pretty old.

Other Thoughts: Almost went for the ATI 4670 (had great performance on my old system with ATI 2600 PRO), which is also a low power solution in the same price range. However, after much online searching, and some conflicting reviews, it appeared that the 9600GT was a better performing chip. I am very pleased with its performance.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Definite bang for the buck. Bought this at a price that was comparable to the 9500 GT.

Cons: Don't think I would use in a gaming system, but that depends on your budget. Heatsink is kind of wimpy compared to non-low voltage 9600 GTs. I don't think I would try to overclock with the stock heatsink.

Other Thoughts: Bought two of these to replace two eVga 7600 GTs that were in two non-gaming systems. One of the 7600 GTs failed, and upon inspection had popped capacitors. Inspected the second 7600 GT and it also had popped capacitors, but was still functioning (but who knows for how much longer). These 7600 GTs probably contained capacitors from that bad batch in the mid 2000s.

On a Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 system running at stock speed (2.13 GHz), running Windows XP Pro, the 3D Mark 06 score went from 3324 with the 7600 GT to 8529 with the 9600 GT. A sizable jump and I expect them to do a good job with the Windows 7 Aero interface when it is released.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck!

Pros: Easy install, no PS upgrade needed, HUGE improvement in video performance

Cons: fan can be a little buzzy at times

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to get a little more life out of your rig without having to buy a new PS, this is the card. Its not too long, doesn't require a separate power connection and the performance gain is amazing.

I play WoW, and I went from terrible frame rates (2-18)with Fair settings to 30-50 FPS in Ultra setting mode, and at 8x sampling. Everything just looks SO good!

I'll write a follow-up if anything comes up.
