5 out of 5 eggsA real trooper

Pros: -Great budget card (from it day)

-Plays games such as TF2 on maximum settings without breaking a sweat

-Solid construction

-Despite what some people say, the card is relatively small.

Cons: -2 weeks before my 1 year warranty expired, the card started to give me artifacts in game, most likely due to overheating. I blew dust out of my case and card but it didn't help. Sent it back to EVGA and they replaced it with a working card. Still works 3 years later.

-Can get a bit noisey when running demanding games

-Won't play the newest titles on high. In BF3, i get 15 fps on ultra, and 30-40 with everything on low. Not playable.

Other Thoughts: I am really satisfied with what this card brought to the table from its day. I just ordered an MSI R9 270x gaming edition graphics card from newegg to upgrade this beast. I'm considering mounting this card on the wall because of it's good service.

5 out of 5 eggsToo much performance? Nah. Too big of a card...maybe.

Pros: Works awesome! I went from the lowest possible settings and getting 15fps if i was lucky to having +60fps on the highest settings on a bad day. Run WoW flawlessly along with CODMW2 and all my other low tech games w/o problems. I can even multibox on WoW with four accounts on full settings without a hiccup. A MUST BUY FOR ALL GAMERS!

Cons: This card is huge! it is the width of my ATX board and them some. Be sure to have space for this so you don't have to disconnect your SATA (or anything else!) to your DVD drive like i did just to get it in the slot.

Other Thoughts: Is the card quite large, yes it is. Could EVGA put this card on a diet? Most diffidently. But i would recommend this card to anyone who is looking for an affordable card that outperforms it's expectations.

3 out of 5 eggsgood tech, bad service

Pros: Does all the usual stuff.

Plays sc2 on full HD ultra

The performance of this card is 5 star.

Cons: Made obsolete by the 460, no point in buying this @ this price anymore.

I misread the warranty regarding the step-up program. I had intended to only keep this card for a couple of months and trade in for a 4xx series card. It turns out you can only do that with cards with a lifetime warranty, which this card does not have.

Although the error was on my part, the details of the program are NOT outlined very clearly, and require some digging to find.

Other Thoughts: I normally spend the few extra $ for evga, but considering the very unhelpful attitude of the person I spoke with at their customer service, I doubt I will again.

-2 star for bad service

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Took it out of the box, put it straight into my motherboard, turned on the computer, downloaded the drivers from the nvidia website, and I was on my way. I bought this card to upgrade form my previous 8800 GTS that had went south after 4-5 years. Literally took me 5 mins from opening the box until I was back in business playing games on my PC.

Cons: Fan can be a little loud on boot up (as others have said), but it isn't bad.

Other Thoughts: Great shipping from newegg (as usual). Can play all of my steam games (TF2, CS:S, Dod:S, etc...) on Very High settings. Can also play Starcraft 2 on all ultra settings with not a single issue. EVGA/Invidia make great products. Definitely recommend this card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality! Great Price!!

Pros: I purchased this video card for a new multimedia computer. I wanted a video card with good performance at a reasonable price. After using this video card for about a month I realize I made a very good choice. This is an outstanding video card for the price. Playing Blue Ray movies the video card doesnt skip or jerk.
My only complaint about this video card is that it runs very hot, stays about 135 Deg F. I added more cooling fans to my system and brought the temp down to 125 deg F. The cooling fan is very quiet. I would be ok with a louder cooling fan to bring down the temp.
Overall this is an outstanding video card for the price well worth the money!!

Cons: Runs hot!

Other Thoughts: Add a better cooling fan.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing proformance

Pros: Very nice unit. Runs most games on their highest video settings, as well and most design programs such as Photoshop and 3DS Max without flaw. It's quiet, sturdy, and definitely should last me a few years if I don't get another wild hair to upgrade again. Runs at an expected temperature under moderate stress (around 60-70C).

Cons: This thing is ginormous! Fits in a medium sized case, however.

Other Thoughts: Extremely good model for it's price.

5 out of 5 eggsGTS 250

Pros: decent card. ran games good. never had any problems with it.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: replaced a 8800 GTS with this, and now have a GTS 460. 460 was much improved over this card, verses 250 over the 8800, I needed it to run. my 8800 died. happy with the 250.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad card

Pros: Good card. It has plenty of juice to run on my PC and handles Borderlands no problem on full detail.

Cons: It's big, but that isn't really a problem.

This card confuses me as it appears to have been constructed upside down. The DVI ports are literally inverted compared to my old 8600GT. I don't understand.

Other Thoughts: I took an egg off because I wasn't WOWED by this card really. It does what it should for the price. I haven't encountered any problems yet, but then again I haven't had it terribly long. Only time will tell.

BTW, as with any video card, make sure your drivers are up to date as soon as possible. Just my advice. Didn't have any problems with this but it is just good practice.

1 out of 5 eggsDrivers crash all the time

Pros: When the card doesnt crash my computer it works ok. Considering the price vs. performance, I have to say that I am not impressed.

Cons: The drivers frequently crash and recover when I open WOW or SC II, or they crash and do not recover, in which case I get a blue screen saying that physical memory is being dumped and the computer restarts. The most updated drivers do not solve this problem.

Other Thoughts: I have windows 7 64-bit, Intel(R) Celeron(R) D CPU 3.33GHz 3.33 Ghz, 3.00 GB of installed memory (RAM), and a 500w Orion power supply.
