4 out of 5 eggsits good for the money

Pros: Worked well on BF3 Hawx and a few other games. It was good bang for the buck for sure. I would recommend this card for most generic gamers.

Cons: Its loud and runs hot but did not overheat. only lasted for 1 1/2 years. Although it could be do to user error I doubt it tho.

4 out of 5 eggsSome reviewers need to lower their tech level, see other thoughts

Pros: great card, fast, beats the 5870, liquid cooling makes this thing beast.

Cons: runs hot. i dont care what people say about getting a better case, i have a haf x, and with two of these in sli, i can easily hit 90 c when running synthetic torture tests like furmark.

Other Thoughts: investing in liquid cooling made this card run a LOT cooler. i used the koolance vid-nx480 water block on my 480 and it literally almost halved the idle/load temps i was getting. for those who dont know, a 570 is the equivalent of a 480 due to differences in the new architecture. if you have enough money to get 2 of these in sli, you might as well get a single 590 because it runs cooler and performs slightly better than 480s in sli for about the same price.

one reviewer (with a "high" tech level) also mentioned that a gtx 460 he got ran a lot cooler than a 480. of course it runs cooler, if he knew anything about a gtx 460, its that they run very cool and quiet. this is why i dont pay attention to tech levels on newegg reviews anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsPowerfull Card, but runs hot!

Pros: Really powerfull, performs well on every game out there.

Cons: This card gets really really hot. My airflow in my case is perfect but this card can still get up to 80 degrees in certain games with my fan running 70-80%.

Other Thoughts: Knocked an egg off for the heat, but everything else about this card is just perfect.Lifetime warranty and EVGA support is amazing.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Fast And Very Hot

Pros: Blows thru any game with ease.

Cons: Very hot running card. Reference cooler is a joke. I have great airflow and cooling in my case and i reach 80-100c with ease. The tiny fan on the reference cooler is a insult.

Other Thoughts: I removed the reference cooler and installed a ZALMAN VF3000F. It made a world of difference. The card now idle's at 29-40c and i've yet to see it over 55c durring game play. And that's on heavy games like crysis. The card is fast enough to not need a overclock. But only with aftermarket cooling do you have piece of mind. I dont think the card would last as long with the reference cooler. I feel companies like evga should realize the reference cooler is not something they should feel they have to use. I got my daughter a MSI N460GTX Twin Frozr II SOC GeForce GTX 460. It idles at 30c. EVGA is perhaps the biggest card company out there. They should try a bit harder to make a better product. Alot of blame would go to Nvidia. Who makes a card that can not be cooler reasonably by a reference cooler of any kind.

5 out of 5 eggsGTX 480 = WIN

Pros: I am very happy with this card. Frame rates are through the roof! Sleek style makes it impossible to hate. My previous card wasn't a power house but I know it doubled the frames of the GTX 285 in Crysis, NFS Shift, L4D, and BC2 and every other game I tried. Yes it eats power, so I assume if you buy this card you don't have a weak power supply in mind. It does dissipate alot of heat but having the fan on the card at 50% to 80% power will greatly ease that problem. All this graphical processing power backed by EVGA lifetime warranty. You can't say no to that!

Cons: Can't fry an egg

Other Thoughts: Planning on getting a second one and putting them in SLI to get 60+ FPS on 3D monitors and it will totally blow away the 580 at that point :)

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Card, Fast Rebate Turnaround!

Pros: Extremely fast card!! Yes, the 580's are out now, but I already had two of these bad boy's and Im not about to sell them on e-B-a-y for nothing for a 10% increase in performance and a bit cooler running. I love these cards, they are still very much considered high end and top of the line! Great Job Nvidia and EVGA!

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: For those of you complaining about rebates, READ!! It clearly states that you have 30 days to do the paperwork, and YES, you have to cut out the UPC sticker and mail it in! It really bugs me seeing people bash EVGA for their own stupidity because they didn't read! Especially the guy who states " I will never buy another EVGA product again" just because he didn't read, Grow up!

5 out of 5 eggsSave your money on the 580

Pros: I have this paired with Asus Sabertooth X58, I7-950, 12GB GSkill 1600, Coolermaster V6GT, Antec CP850 PSU, WD Raptor 320. My card idles at 35-37 celcius. At load it barely breaks over 50 celcius. For $80 less than a 580 what is not too like. BFBC2 on steroids.

Cons: For those who want a super powerful card I highly recommend a HAF 932, 942 X or an Antec 1200 to match up with any high performance card. Especially in SLI.

Other Thoughts: I set up policies for raisning the fan in ntools to 75% if th temp goes over 50 celcius. On boot it is in auto for quietness. My case fans are louder than the fans the card. The high flow bracket and pcb backing make for a practical and attractive card. It is gorgeous to look at.

5 out of 5 eggsI Like it a LOT!

Pros: This is a really, really, nice video card. I'm using it to run a 1600x1200 NEC monitor, under Debian Linux with KDE 4.5. It is fast and sharp and responsive. Color me a happy camper.

Cons: nada

Other Thoughts: I may be missing out on something by not running two GPUs in SLI, but I don't know what. Asus P6X58D-E, i7-950@4.2GHz, 6GHz G-Skill Ripjaws.
