4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price paid

Pros: > An amazing card for the price that I paid for it. I HUGE upgrade from the 9800GT
> For the time that it was healthy it stayed strong and performed very, very well under pressure. And it kept up with my older parts very nicely (4GB of DDR2 and a 2.4ghz cpu)
> I always try and recommend the strength and durability of EVGA

Cons: > The card seriously starts to show its age after about a year and a half. It's been giving constant VGA errors and drive-crashing. I have to look into an upgrade now (which is about standard is the card is sitting at about two years old now) to replace it, but that's fine

Other Thoughts: > This really was a great card for the price that I had paid for it (roughly 80 bucks or so) and I will always recommend EVGA as a brand. They make parts that have a decent life span and work fantastically under pressure.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card when it was new

Pros: Great looking, not too loud even at 70% fan where I kept it. Performed well at most current gen games @ High settings, not Ultra @ 1920x1080. I ran 2 of these in SLI and they performed very well together. Scaling was excellent.

Cons: I've had to RMA both these cards at least once. One of them twice. They are OC'd from the factory and I think you pay a cost against the longevity of the card. However EVGA support is phenomenal and has replaced them every time without giving me grief.

Other Thoughts: I won't personally buy any other brand name other than EVGA. Their prices and performance are excellent and their support is top notch and worth every penny spent above the cheapest cards you can buy in each category.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product

Pros: Cheap because I bought it on sale. I bought it at 130 after rebate which was the same price as the superclocked version, so why not get the "Super-SuperClocked" version. Runs Starcraft II smoothly on Ultra(or whichever is the highest setting). Im on dual monitors(24" LCD 720p and 19" LCD some old monitor). Comes with miniHDMI-to-HDMI adapter and DVI-VGA adapter which was important for me because my 19" piece of manure only has VGA input. factory (super-)superclocked which is a plus for people like me who are too scared to overclock GPU's. Has not failed so far after owning it for about a month.

Cons: Currently out of stock. I NEED ANOTHER ONE for SLI!!!

Other Thoughts: I have not really tried benchmarks on this, but I am half scared, half lazy, half undoubtful that EVGA has done a good job.

1 out of 5 eggsI will never shop at newegg again.

Pros: I like how it looks.

Cons: Like other recent newegg patrons, I was sent a defective 1380 gpu. Card fails at about 81-82 degrees celsius, very odd. If you look around at the other models, they all seem to be plagued by a similar high failure rate as the 1380, confirmed by EVGA rep by email and a quick look at this sites feedback for the other versions of this card. EVGA response to this phenomena is "Do not stress these cards to this point... if the card is stable with programs that are less graphically intense... it is probably good enough." Internet search for "Roundup: 14 geforce gtx 460" before purchasing a 400 line, especially before buying evga.

I asked newegg for an exchange with same or similar product, best they would agree too is for me to pay $20 dollars more for an inferior model. Hilarious. Will never shop here again. That is just wrong. Bait and switch tactics.

Other Thoughts: Matt, "the manufacturer rep from evga" responded to my email request for evga to honor the original deal I purchased from newegg, he basically said, "tough luck- take it up with newegg." Then he stopped responding to my emails. If he pops up under me saying something different... he is lying. Cheers.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize but I do not work on weekends. I responded to your e-mail earlier this morning (7/25/2011), I will re-send my e-mail to ensure it gets to you.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for $, but so-so QC

Pros: Good looking
Fast
Fairly Quiet
HUGE step-up from the 6800GS it tried replacing

Cons: Dead shortly after arrival:
Played Just Cause 2 for about 1.5 hours, after that the driver started crashing (game minimizes and refuses to come back and/or screen goes blank). Testing with FurMark revealed instability, driver crashes after just a couple of minutes, requiring reboot or even reinstall. Downclocking the card to reference clocks did NOT help.
Sent back to Newegg hoping the replacement will be more reliable.

Other Thoughts: AMD x6 1090
16G G.Skill 1333
Gigabyte 870a
OCZ Agility 60Gb + 1.5Tb WD

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsPotentially flawed design

Pros: Works well when not overly stressed. I played WoW & Borderlands without any issues. Chip and memory have great OC potential if the board is designed to cope with the greatly increased power demands that comes along with the OC'd speeds.

Newegg alway pulls through though, with price, shipping, customer service, etc.

Cons: There appears to be a potential flaw in the design of significantly overclocked GTX 460s using the reference board design. Using Furmark (or OCCT, EVGA OC Scanner, etc.), with a reference design card clocked at 850/975 (like this one) the power consumption is approx 44% higher than a card running at reference clocks (675/900). The components on a reference design board are not built to withstand these greatly increased power requirements, so they tend to overheat to an extreme degree. If you search for a roundup of 14 GTX 460s, you will read what I'm talking about. I believe this issue is partially addressed with the GTX 560. Also, not all GTX 460s are built using the reference board design, so these cards are less likely to have these issues.

The card I had continually locked up my computer (black screen, monitor going to stand by, had to turn off computer, then back on) when it hit approx 82C using OCCT GPU stress test. This happened numerous times with no remedy to be found

Other Thoughts: I really love EVGA customer support. 24/7 telephone tech support is unbeatable. After troubleshooting my issue with 3 different techs, we concluded the card is likely bad and I'm currently waiting for final RMA approval. I hope it's just my card, and not something I will experience again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear your card is not working properly for you. If you run into any further issues please contact me directly, matth@evga.com so I can work with you on this personally.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card for the money!

Pros: Great price with MIR, great performance (not absolutely the best by any means but for the MMORPG's I play like Rift it is great), can run 1080P sized resolution at Medium to High settings on Rift without any major loss in FPS. I can even completely max out every setting at 1680x1050 and still achieve 30 to 40 FPS. Haven't tried any crazy overclocking but did try small bumps just to see if it would work as previous card wouldn't do anything at all. Didn't have any issues getting EVGA's software to overclock. Currently running at stock clocks though since I'm not too comfortable with OCing yet.

Cons: Runs a little hotter than I'd like but I put a Du-Orb on my previous card so its a bit of an unfair comparison. Stock vs stock with my last card, it runs about the same temps but is quite a bit more powerful so cooling is adequate. Would still like to get an aftermarket cooling assembly down the line as cooler is always better.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a budget card that still has great performance, I definitely recommend this card. I'm extremely happy with its performance. Maybe one of these days I can go SLI can see how much further I can go. For all I play I bet this card in SLI would be perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsGood performance, affordable card

Pros: Simple design, clean, backplate (see Other Comments), bonus software at time of my purchase, works the way it should.

Cons: Needs 2x 6pin power connectors (be sure your PSU has a 24amp+ rail rating or is certified SLI - they're sure to have the correct amperage). Comes with molex-6pin adapters(x2).

Other Thoughts: Back plate looks great, attached at processor base with 4 screws - a little loose (moves a mm or two horizontally) nothing to really worry about, just expect it. The fan face protrudes from the fan shroud -so be careful not to set the card down on the fan side while working on your rig - back plate is good for that. The fan is a bit light, so try not to handle the blades if possible.
