5 out of 5 eggsJust right

Pros: Used in a home theater machine and works great. Just what I wanted.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Have another machine with a better card for games so this one doesn't get stressed. It's for DVD's, Blu-Ray and streaming and it does fine at that.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA 01G-P3-1523-KR

Pros: Fast, quiet, compact size, inexpensive (eVGA had a $15 rebate offer when I bought it), installs easily and doesn't block the slot next to it.

Cons: Non so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to put in my HP ML110 G6 server running WHS 2011. The server fans make more noise than the fan on the video card, so it's a non-issue. Most media streaming software I've tried needs to run with in 32-bit color. This was not possible with the on-board video. CUDA useful when running BOINC projects when the system is idle.

2 out of 5 eggsVery unimpressed.

Pros: -Nice compact size, so it fits into my crowded case rather easily.
-Easy installation
-Affordable price

Cons: -When I bought this card, I didn't realize there was no 4, 6 or 8 pin connector that would allow me to connect it to my power supply, like most other cards have. Needless to say, this card can't get nearly enough power from the PCI Express slot it's connected to alone and my experience with it has thus suffered significantly.

Other Thoughts: If I'd known about what I'd specified in the "Cons" field above, I would have shelled out the extra cash for a card that actually worked.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I do apologize for any confusion. The card does not require additional power as it is not meant to be a gaming card. This card was designed for home theater PC use to allow for you to watch movies, blurays, and streaming content in a higher resolution than your on-board graphics card allows.

5 out of 5 eggsPlays Deus Ex:Human Revolution extremely well

Pros: Small card, fit into tight spot in my dell demension desktop. Despite what the other reviewers have said about the fan, Its very quiet. I had to upgrade my NVIDIA GE Force 8600GT graphics card to be able to play Deus EX. The game is a little jerky at times but that probably because I have a dual core and not a quad core processor as the game recommends. All in all this card is a great card and i am using the hdmi connection for my screen too and its the best my screen has ever looked. I highly recommend this card.

Cons: None that I have encountered yet and honestly I don't think I will have any complaints about this great card. I love NVIDIA.

5 out of 5 eggseVGA GeForce GT 520 1GB DDR3

Pros: It's fast. I can play Starcraft 2 on medium at 1280*1024.

Cons: Man this fan is loud. Usually, the smaller the fan, the louder it is. It's also a little expensive ($10 cheaper would've been nicer)

Other Thoughts: Windows 7 Experience index ranks the gaming graphics as 6.5 and aero as 5.2. I got this card because my power supply only gets 19amps on the +12V rail and it only has 300watts. I could've gotten a GT 240 but they ran out.

3 out of 5 eggsA Unique Configuration

Pros: Works in laptop advanced docking stations.
Small card footprint to fit in small spaces.
Possibily very low power specification requirements.

Cons: Very loud fan.
Fan powers on at random intervals even when not performing graphic intensive functions.
No Low Profile Bracket provided (but in my current configuration it's not needed).
Difficult to install full Mfrg. Utiity package. During driver and utility package installation Winodws 7 will performe hardware autodetect and search for drivers which will cause EVGA disc or download installation to fail. Cannot perform 100% installation. But drivers install and allows card to function normally. Just can't use all of EVGA tools to possibly optimize. My environment is specific though and may not be a problem for everyone. See Other Thoughts.

Other Thoughts: My configuration and requirements are unique. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T61p and just purchased a Lenovo Advanced Docking station for it. The docking station can accomodate a small footprint PCI Express video card. Looking for power specs on the docking station I could not find what the total output was and was discouraged in finding many cards that require 300W power supply output. This card did not show any specifications on requirements and I took a chance. Installed the card and it works with the the docking station and I can now use 2 external monitors plus the laptop LCD for a 3 screen extended desktop. Currently can't find detail information on my docking station to verify power output but I do not believe it's 300W so card can function correctly with lower specs. May need to test how functional with higher graphics functions such as gaming. Main purpose is or multi-screen use and photo editing so may not need more than what is currently working. Will update if necessary

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice cheap low power HTPC card. Plays all 1080p content smoothly. Stress tested it with the 1080p Planet Earth bird scene.

It definitely beats the iGPU in my i3-2100T.

Cons: No low profile bracket included. This is especially annoying considering the fact that the hdmi port on this card is inverted as compared to the cutouts in most brackets you can find.

Other Thoughts: Considering that it is not easy to find an appropriate bracket, major fail points go to EVGA for not including a cheap bracket which would save pain and money on shipping a separate item.

This card is currently sitting in my HTPC without a bracket.

I did not test 3D acceleration as its main purpose is to be an HTPC card.
