5 out of 5 eggsFantastic deal

Pros: Great card for 50 dollars. Was building a budget computer for a friend of mine and he wanted a card that could handle playing games without lag. I heard some good reviews about this card so I figured I might as well try it out and we both couldn't be happier. It was able to run all the games he played at medium+ detail without any lag and I ended up getting another one for myself to run my second monitor. If you want a nice card that won't give you issues and will run games on decent graphics look no further.

Cons: Not one

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Minecraft at high settings 90+ frames per second.
Skyrim high settings 20+ frames per second.
TF2 highest settings, never saw any lag at all.
Really cheap, quiet, low power consumption. Every game I tried ran perfectly, high settings, and I am an average gamer, but not totally into gaming 100%. Also, for you non computer people, it is registered as a 6.7 on the WEI scale.

Cons: The metal piece between the card kept getting loose when I would pull it out, but it is easily tightened. This isnt really a con, but something that annoyed me when i put it in other older computers.

Other Thoughts: I custom built my own computer, all parts from newegg,
Quad-core i5 @ 2.8 ghz 2300k
12gb ddr3 1600mhz
2x 1tb 7200rpm hard drive
500w PSU

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Install and install went well. Runs Wow at 50-120fps running around in town. good price for the card. Don't recommend high settings for about anything though.

Cons: Had to get the updated drivers on the site no biggy though. Already had it shut off on me with a few things i ran it threw.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for. Good card for the price which is awesome for a cheapie like me.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent card

Pros: Runs well in an HTPC
Low power usage
3D Support

Cons: Fan died after 6 months
Not as sharp as a Radeon HD 4250 when connected to a Mitsubishi WD-73C10

Other Thoughts: The chintzy fan on this died after about 6 months of use. Kindof disappointing but not unexpected. Fans as small as these usually die quickly in my experience.

I bought this card for use in a HTPC that has an integrated Radeon HD 4250 GPU. Using the same HDMI cable, the picture quality is noticeably worse when using this card when hooked to my Mitsubishi WD-73C10 television. This is most noticeable when trying to read text on a web page. The text is out of focus and hard to read. For movie usage, there is no discernible difference.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Please contact our 24/7 technical support so we can setup a replacement for a card with a working fan (888)-881-3842

5 out of 5 eggsGood additional

Pros: Cost me $50, may have even had a rebate.

Using it as a 3rd card to run a second monitor, more below...

Cons: Prob not too powerful, i dont run games on it, so who knows.

Other Thoughts: Running Crossfire (yes ATI) for my 27" monitor, and running this card to power my 24" - 1920x1200 res second monitor. Its a smart setup, and kinda sweet because im using ATI and Nvidia in one rig

5 out of 5 eggsadding on to my previews review

Pros: This is a very good graphics card for the price. Here is a list of games I was able to play on this card:

- Skyrim: High
- Diablo 3: High
- Guild Wars 2: Medium
- Alliance of Valiant Arms- Max settings

Cons: A bit noisy when gaming but nothing too big.

Other Thoughts: Overall good Graphics Card for the price. If you're wondering what my rig was here it is:

Intel Celeron E3300
Geforce GT 430
2gb ddr2 RAM 667 MHz
350GB HDD

5 out of 5 eggsLess is More

Pros: Higher memory bandwidth, 128-bit memory and more CUDA cores than the similarly-priced GeForce 520.

Cons: Lack of GDDR5, but it's entry level. What can you do?

Other Thoughts: Bought this as a second monitor driver for a live streaming/video editing rig. Works wonderfully, and a much better value than the 520. Don't waste money on a higher number.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card so Far

Pros: The card does not make any noise so far, Handles Diablo 3 pretty well w/ almost no lag considering that I'm running on a 1.6 GHz processor

Cons: None Yet

Other Thoughts: Well I guess NVIDIA Cards are good, I'm new to using graphics cards tho

1 out of 5 eggsFailed After One Day

Pros: Quiet.

Cons: Failed after one day. I installed it as I have been installing PC hardware for 20 years using routine anti-static precautions. Installed latest nvidia driver. Launched XBMC and watched a couple hours of video over the HDMI on plasma TV. All was well. Next day I booted up the PC and had no video. Checked for output through HDMI, DVI, and VGA. No joy. Replaced GT 430 with my old GTX 7800 and all was well with the video. I'll be requesting an RMA for this card. This is my first bad experience with EVGA. They are my go-to company for video cards. I have had at least 6 EVGA video cards.

Other Thoughts: The fan is still running on the card and I don't see or smell any burned components. And the card was not overclocked. I was only using it for my HTPC.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I am sorry to hear your card is no longer giving any video, if another card works without issue it does indicate the card needs to be replaced. Please contact our 24/7 technical support (888)-881-3842 so we can assist you with a replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Card - Fan too loud for HTPC

Pros: Handles all video thrown to it - I tested mostly all formats and so far no hiccups

Cons: Although it's a low hum, I'd prefer to not hear the fan at all.
