5 out of 5 eggsStill going

Pros: It's been 2 yrs and this card is still going strong. Handled many photoshop files over 3gb. It manages some online games like WOT and STWOR. But isn't the greatest. Still all in all a very good purchase

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsSad

Pros: Non

Cons: I recently got this card. Plugged it in and my computer went completely black right when I turn it on. When I take it off its fine.

Other Thoughts: I don't even know why this is happening Maybe defective

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for what it is.

Pros: Works well with Windows 7 and 8.

Cons: None really if you're looking for a simple upgrade for an older system.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to install on my son's 5 year old EMachine so he could play his online games like Wiazards101, Clone Wars, etc. Nothing too intense, he's only 9. Problem was the onboard graphics and memory were being overburdened. By installing this card and taking the video rendering away from the motherboard, it's like running a whole new machine for him. Well worth the price to keep an older machine around for a few more years before absolutely needing to upgrade to a bigger, faster system.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good Card

Pros: Does the job if you need something simple and cheap, also it plays games at 30 FPS, and it runs 2 monitors, no problems.

Cons: If you want performance, consider getting a more expensive card. If you put too much strain on the card it can easily overheat.

Other Thoughts: While playing Garry's Mod, I could run it on the highest settings in the game but the card got to 106C, so don't do that

2 out of 5 eggsWouldn't honor my rebate

Pros: Cheap - two DVI ports

Cons: Slow

Other Thoughts: I just bought this on the cheap for a server. The reason I chose to buy it was a rebate -- which they didn't offer.

We've all gone through the rebate process and looked at the checklist. I sent everything they asked for, well within the rebate time period. But, they denied my claim. Won't be doing any more business with them for this reason.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

If you have any questions or issues regarding rebates, please contact rebates@evga.com

Thank you,
Brandon B

5 out of 5 eggsReally helped Video Performance

Pros: Greatly improved online game performance over the onboard video. Easy to install.

Cons: No VGA Output, May require new Power Supply if installing on lower end PC( see other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I installed this into my Son's 4 year old EMachine hoping to fix an issue with his online gaming when playing some of the kid level games like Clone Wars Adventures, Wizards, etc. The on board video was poor at best. Video would Stutter, lag, making it completely unplayable. Installed the new Video card and it runs like a new machine now that video is controlled by the card and not taking up memory from the motherboard.
Only issue was, I needed to install a bigger power supply since the factory system only had a 250W PS. Luckily, I had a 400W PS that I'd taken off one of my other systems. It recommended at least a 350w supply for this card.

So for a minor, relatively cheap upgrade on an older system I really recommend this card.

3 out of 5 eggsnot an improvment

Pros: Affordable and easy to install.

Cons: Bought this several months ago to replace a Zotac GT420 that was failing. I ran the Windows Experience test with it & it scored significantly lower than what it replaced. I only use it for simple graphics tasks, no gaming or any hard gruntwork. After upgrading to a new MSI motherboard & Samsung SSD this past weekend, I'm getting display errors with it, have removed/reinstalled most current drivers, but it is still flickering & even when on standby it pops up display error message when brought out. Guess I'll chuck it in the bin & get another GT420...

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

The WEI is unfortunately not an accurate ranking of system perfomance. However, the other issues you are describing would be a problem. This product should be under warranty. Please contact us at 888-881-3842 so we can work with you on this matter.

Thank you,
Brandon B

3 out of 5 eggsPoor documentation

Pros: Cheap, dual link DVI, supports 2560x1600 resolutions, It can be made to work.

Cons: Poor documentation, Drivers on disk would not install on XP, Downloaded drivers caused blue screen on XP when dual link DVI monitor was plugged into single link DVI port. Has 3 outputs, can only drive two monitors at a time. does not come with a mini HDMI to HDMI adaptor.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because the company provided monitors & video cards do not have enough resolution to propely display a schematic or PDF data sheet. I bought a 2560x1440 monitor from *elsewhere* to go with it. Nowhere in the documentation, or labeling on the board itself does it mention which port supports dual link DVI. This is a problem since the monitor I bought only works with dual link DVI, and the video card driver bluescreens XP if you plug the monitor in the wrong port. Also nowhere in the manual does it state that this video card only supports 3 DVI links. I think it may support 3 monitors if none of them is using dual link DVI but I could not test this as I only had two single link DVI monitors. In any case with a dual link DVI 2560x1440 monitor, and two single link 1920x1200 monitors connected, only two of these monitors could be enabled at a time.
When installing the drivers, the drivers on the disk failed to install.
The downloaded drivers installed but bluescreend windows. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to move the dual link DVI cable from the middle DVI connector to the end DVI connector to avoid the bluescreen. I also had to keep the original video card installed to be able to drive all three monitors.

5 out of 5 eggsFine bottom-end card

Pros: If you just need to connect a display to a computer, with no heavy video demands, no gaming, etc., this is a great choice. EVGA quality is legendary, and this little card won't take much power to do its job.

Cons: None really.
