3 out of 5 eggsAwesome card but. . .

Pros: Awesome card for the price, super fast, runs all my games at max settings. I find that the card is very quiet even at 100% fan speed.

Cons: I've had the card for 3 months now, suddenly a wild overheating problem appears! Even with the fans at 100% the card is peaking at 122F. I had to purchase liquid cooling to stabilize this guy, so I didn't save much at all going with the refurbished after getting the cooling system.

Other Thoughts: I would just get Newegg to do an RMA for it but I've already done that twice for two other cards and I'm sick of paying for the Shipping.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

122 F is actually quite cool for the card under load, that is only 50 C, where as these cards are rated up to a maximum of about 97 C which is almost double the heat. If you were experiencing any graphical issues or crashes at that temperature then there would be something other then overheating going on. If have any problems with the card, please contact us at 888-881-3842 so we can assist you.

Thank you,
Brandon B

5 out of 5 eggsbeastly

Pros: really fast at rendering scenes in 3ds max. even faster than Quadro FX4800 that I bought second hand. not to mention this thing has 3gb of vram.

Cons: it can get loud!! but that's because i set the fans to 100% when im rendering. but at 80% the fan noise is drowned by my hyper 212.

Other Thoughts: perfect card for anything you can think of. plays all games in ultra settings and renders superfast.

5 out of 5 eggsBest GPU deal I've ever gotten

Pros: PRICE, it's fast, it's very quiet compared to my GTX280's (3 in 3-way SLI), and it's cool looking to boot.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I've been building / upgrading my gaming PC pretty much yearly since my 1990 386 with a 512K (not MB!) video card. I owned the very first Diamond Stealth card, the Stealth 32 and 64, various ATI cards including a few All In Wonders, the first VooDoo card from 3DFX, and even had the original SLI tech with two 3DFX VooDoo 2 cards in SLI config. (Nvidia bought the tech from them, if not the whole company.) Anyway, lots of other cards between those and this one, including 3 GTX280's in 3-Way SLI when they were $400+ cards. This card at the refurb price is hands-down the best bang for the buck I have ever gotten out of a video card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance For The Price

Pros: A 384 bit bandwidth, plus factory OC @ 900 Mhz, make this card overall the fastest performing card I've ever purchased. Runs surprisingly cool never beyond 40 C. In a few benchmarks, it even outperforms the GTX 680 believe it or not.

Cons: First card was DOA. Cause unknown. Quickly obtained an RMA and within 3 days got a working replacement :-)

Other Thoughts: Just may purchase more of these before the next generation GTX 780 and comparable cards are due out sometime next year.

2 out of 5 eggssmoke

Pros: Not sure what Pros to list. The fan looks fairly heavy duty.

Cons: Opened the package and card had a strong smell of smoked electronics. I didn't plug it into the computer.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsRefurbished but good as new!

Pros: Probably the best card you can put in a PCI-E 2 machine.
This thing SCREAMS! I suspect the reason for the refurb. is that this card is big and may not fit into mid-tower cases so they just take it back.

Cons: Requires one 6 and TWO 8 connectors so check your PS first. No disks, cables or instructions -- be ready for that. The fan can generate a lot of noise when under full load.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a GTX 295 with this mother and my framerates DOUBLED on stock settings and it uses less power than my old card and runs cooler when properly set up. 3GB of DDR5 is more than enough. I've got a full tower Azza with an X58 MB and it was still a chore to fit this card in. Be sure to use EVGA Precision X's cooling curve to keep this puppy nice and cool.
