5 out of 5 eggsTwo Slots, Two Cents

Pros: jczz123, the pictures above answer your question quite clearly. It is indeed two slots, but to play devil's advocate, I did notice that the extra slot in question is 80% vent holes and 20% Upper DVI connector! Thus, the gist of your inquiry being a single card (the body and guts) does hold some validity, if only by a hair.

Cons: Would it be possible to revamp this card in the future to a single slot solution? Even at the cost of an extra DVI connector?

5 out of 5 eggstake up two slots?

Pros: this is not a single slot card? I think it should be, because my 580s hydro only takes up one slot. But can someone please confirm this.

Thanks

JC

5 out of 5 eggsSimply great

Pros: This card is fast, quick and cool, if you're considering don't hesitate, get this card and EVGA is the best, IMO. Great customer support strong forum base as well as the EGVA employees are active members of the form so you get a lot of help. This card idles at 26C for me. My previous GTX 580 SCs idled at 38C on air. Under load, I can't get it over 37C. That's sick. :)

Cons: Limited availability at the moment. Still won't fold, but that's a immature driver issue. I expect to be resolved soon.

Other Thoughts: Someone mentioned that this is a reference card, that is incorrect, it is a reference "PCB". The card runs at a speed of 1150 MHz out of the box, the reference is 1006 MHz. I've been able to OC mine to 1350 without problems. Currently, the benchmarks put it "just" behind my SLI'd GTX 580SC cards and WAY ahead of a single 580. Personally, I can't wait for a second one to hit the wild so I can add it to my system.

Manufacturer Response:

Also it has an 8+6pin power connector and 5 power phases for the memory. (Standard is 6+6pin power and 4 power phases)

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Overall, this card is a fantastic buy. I was able to clock to over 1300MHz easy and the Precision software is easy to use. Looks great and works amazingly.

Cons: Wish it was a single slot card.

5 out of 5 eggsOne thing to note...

Pros: The first pre-installed waterblock on a GTX 680. EVGA's constantly pushing the limits of Nvidia's cards and this is yet another example.

Cons: Keep in mind this card is still a dual-slot card. Until a manufacturer uses a custom PCB or uses the separate solder points for the 2nd 6-pin connector, the GTX 680 will still use the reference "stacked" 6-pin design. This card is also still rocking the reference dual-slot PCI bracket. It'll take a custom PCB from a manufacturer to use a combo of Mini-DVI, Mini-HDMI, and/or Mini-DisplayPort to be able to fit all 4 video outputs on a single-slot design for a watercooled GTX 680.

Pre-installed waterblocks will always cost a small premium. This card is a reference design and would cost $499 with the stock air cooler on it. It'd cost around $125 to get a proper full-cover waterblock for it. So you're looking at around $75 more to retain the warranty from EVGA. Quite reasonable and not worth taking any eggs off for.

Other Thoughts: Great initial showing from EVGA and I'm excited to see what options begin to show for this killer GPU.

Manufacturer Response:

Don't forget that this card is a custom design with 5 phase PWM and an 8+6pin power connector stack!
