5 out of 5 eggsI used to buy only Nvidia cards

Pros: Less $$ than nvidia, less power consuption than comparable nvidia cards. Running warhead on "gamer" (high) settings.

Cons: idles 10c higher than my 9800gtx...Also ATI's control center is little awkward comparing to Nvidia control panel...

Other Thoughts: Get it ! It's worth every penny :)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: Plays all my games well including Crysis -- which is smooth with the major half of the DX10 settings on Very High. Quiet in actual operation. Excellent HDTV video. DX10.1

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Needs good venting -- recommend positive case pressure as negative pressure works against the HD4870 fan. I bought Powercolor because it was the cheapest that day. I also have Powercolor brand HD3870 which worked fine.

My System: ATI HD4870, ATI650 HD Tuner, Athlon 64 6000, 2x2GB OCZ PC8500, ASUS M3A78-T, 5x Seagate 7200.xx = 1.6TB, Plextor DVD, PCP&C S75CF 750W, Enermax Full-Tower, 2xSony CRT (24" 16:10 + 21" 4:3), 5.1 Spkr, Cougar HOTAS +RS/FSSB, Vista HP 64b & XP Pro 32b -- mostly from Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsAX4870

Pros: Fast, Powerful, Affordable Graphics Card.

Cons: Free shipping disappeared just before I purchased it!Price Dropped $10. on the day after I purchased it! I hate when that happens.

Other Thoughts: Comes with Cyberlink Software. Arrived on the 3rd day. Works Flawlessly. You cant win'em all! NewEgg still ROCKS!

3 out of 5 eggsSome issues

Pros: Good price, great features, awesome performance. Totally stable with no issues in game.

Cons: If I leave my computer on for 24-48 hours the output gets all static, fuzzy. This was not an issue with the last 3 videos cards I had in this system

Other Thoughts: I assume the cooling is not good enough for the heat output? I am going to force the fan speed to run a bit faster.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Awesome graphics. It is fairly quiet once the fan switches off wind tunnel mode when its booting up. I have not thrown anything like Crysis or Bioshock at it, but I have Battlefield 2 and Counter Strike: Source completely maxed out. Neither of them even flinches, they both run smooth as silk. I wish I could say I have thrown more at this, but I will in time :)

Cons: Does not come with any power plug adapters. Be sure to buy some, or make sure your PSU has 2 PCI-Express 6-pin power connectors.

Other Thoughts: Powercolor is a new brand for me. But this card looks pretty serious, the cooling on it is monstrous as I would hope to keep this card under control. So far no complaints, no artifacting under stress, no weird behavior *knock on wood*.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Card

Pros: Awsome card, plays all my games at max settings 1680x1050. Runs cool with fan fix... Easily able to flash Bios to run at 815/1145

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Only wish I had a faster processor, My Phenom 9500 bottlenecks this card.

5 out of 5 eggsOUTSTANDING!

Pros: This card ROCKS!! with FSAA & Antistrophic @ 16X im getting mid 30's FPS playing CRYSIS! Plays fluid as can be, turn it down a bit and FPS goes up 50-60 FPS! Great detail in the foilage and water & the water falls looks great!

Cons: New Egg offered a game and a rebate the week after i bought it...

Other Thoughts: Is it loud as everyone keeps whining about?? Yes, for about 3.7 seconds when the computer boots, after that you wont hear it! Gets hot? Yes of course, just dont touch it!! LOL

5 out of 5 eggsDang this thing is nice

Pros: Any game you throw at this thing is no match for it, it is a framethrower!

Cons: It gets much hotter than what I'm used to seeing from a video card but it still runs stable...just, sometimes the temps seem rather alarming.

Other Thoughts: Looks great, runs stable, great price! Add it to your cart and show Newegg and yourself some love!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price/performance ratio is very good. Driver installation was smooth (I'm using 8.8 Beta currently, no problems).

Cons: The stock fan is WAY TOO LOUD. Even at 60% it's extremely irritating. Fortunately I almost always use water, but I always test my cards as they arrive from the factory before I mod them and this thing is just irritating. It does a good job, but it's just too loud.

Other Thoughts: Average overclocker. On water, with stock voltage, 825/1025 is rock solid stable. 850/1050 gives an occasional hard-lock or a hard lock coupled with an automatic restart. I've seen people do 880-900 with a voltmod to the core. I won't be voltmodding this card, but just FYI for those who have it in mind. Current rig: Phenom X4 9850 @ 2.94GHz on water, 4870 @ 825/1025 on water -- full coverage waterblock, 4GB DDR2. 3DM06 - 13,820 as configured.

5 out of 5 eggsOrdered 4870 again.. but this time i went POWERCOLOR

Pros: When i had Visiontek 4870 i played games FINE was a GOOD upgrade 8800gt to 4870... and heck the 8800gt is a medium end card.... and i still notice a huge increase.

especially with aa ,af on... :P plays alot more smoother then my 8800gt

I turned aa ,af off on 4870 i scored 550 in CS:S stress test :D

with aa x8 , x16 scored 355... , while with 8800gt i score 180 ...

YOU don't need 4870x2 if u play at 24" below.

Cons: Visiontek 4870 fried on me... , so i went Powercolor instead , don't care about lifetime warranty cause in 2-3 years this card going to the trash. lol

Other Thoughts: Hoping it will run Stalker clear sky , warhammer online , far cry 2 , Fallout 3 on MAX

spec:

E8400 @ 3.90ghz , 4gb RAM 1066mhz , P35 mobo , I game at 1680x1050.. Love my Samsung LCD :P
