Capable GPU for a Great Price!
- Pros: A reasonable HD2600 128-bit card for an unbeatable price (particularly with rebate)!
Lots of memory!
PCI-E.
Low wattage.
- Cons: Unfortunately, the memory (though abundant) seems relatively slow.
Average performance, for this class of GPU.
FHS provides adequate cooling but appears to be of relatively low quality.
- Other Thoughts: Bought for the kids' new computer, a Compaq SR5510 (X2 5000, 2GB, 500GB, Vista Home Prem) purchased elsewhere. With this card it's now a Vista experience 5.0 machine, with the toal price (including GPU) of under 300 dollars. Note 3D benchmark score (using a popular benchmark) went from 1700 with the onboard graphics to a reasonable 7200 with the new video card. Thanks New Egg.
Great for non-gaming computer
- Pros: Very cheap, runs Vista Aero quite smoothly. It can play WoW on medium-ish settings.
- Cons: Not powerful enough for more graphics-intensive games.
- Other Thoughts: This is a brilliant card for any non-gaming desktop. It was an upgrade from integrated graphics for me, and it is obviously a ridiculous improvement. My desktop is now a legitimate Vista machine.
Download the up-to-date drivers from ATI, the disc does not work with Vista.
Great Little Card
- Pros: Inexpensive. Under 10 bones after rebate! Works well. I can play most games at high settings at 1024x768 resolution. This is the default resolution my wife and daughter play their games (Spore, Guitar Hero, etc). Beats any motherboard built-in video solution.
- Cons: At this price point, none.
- Other Thoughts: Make sure to download the LATEST drivers from atitech. The drivers were a cinch to install. You still need the install CD for the direct ati audio.
