1 out of 5 eggsTerrible drivers

Pros: Really fast - on paper.

Cons: Unusable with Server 2008 x64. It works, but Crossfire is disabled and framerates are very poor with some games (Medieval 2, Fallout 3). HL2 works, but is slower than my old card. DX10 unavailable with current drivers. Windows itself is choppy when scrolling.

My 8800GTS was faster with the same OS and software.

Other Thoughts: It'd be a very nice card if it worked right.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works pretty good, high framerate on highest detail settings on UT3, CSS, and WoW.

Cons: When I alt-tab out of some games the screen from the game transparently overlays my desktop making it kinda hard to see. Assume this is the graphics card, its the most likely culprit. Some games won't come back after alt-tabbing, this may or may not be a graphics card issue.

Other Thoughts: Its quite big, not sure if I could put 2 in Asus P6T unless it lets me use first and third slot (havn't tried and not sure I intend to).

1 out of 5 eggsoh well

Pros: didnt get to see :(

Cons: 1. DOA, well not really, it loads windows, then the fan goes to 100% and my screen goes blank.

2. i ended up spending what i saved from the cheaper brand in return shipping :(

Other Thoughts: isnt neweggs fault, i got this for less than 400 with the rebate, hopefully the new one they send wont be broken, no problems and the next one is on its way,

MAKE SURE, you test this card out for a few days before you go snipping the UPC off the box, because you cant exchange a card with a missing UPC!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome performer!

Pros: I love Age of Conan so much that I built an entire new system just to run it properly. It just so happens that ATi dominates Nvidia in Age of Conan so the decision to purchase this card was a no brainer especially given the fact that Age of Conan scales so darn well with Crossfire. I am basically getting twice the frames of a single 4870 1GB videocard in Age of Conan and I am LOVING IT!!!

Cons: So long as I get my rebate.. I will have no Cons to mention.

Other Thoughts: If you enjoy MMO's, you owe it to yourself to give Age of Conan a try! With this graphics card I am able to enjoy the game with High Settings and 8X AA and 16 AF! While raiding and having all the spells going boom boom, I never dip below 35 FPS. Most of the time I am over 100 FPS while running around the game world. LOVE THIS CARD!!!

5 out of 5 eggsPower!

Pros: Can run anything, blazing fast performance.

Cons: Powercooler is about 5 rev's behind on their website for drivers, I guess the cheaper one comes with the con of having a company who appears to not give a darn, they did have a link to ati's driver page though.

Other Thoughts: Very large, fan is not as loud as I expected considering the whining, get a good case maybe?

2 out of 5 eggsProblematic

Pros: It's fast.

Cons: Every time I use Windows Media or go to a flash web site the card produces a high pitched whine. This is distinct from the fan noise and does not come from the fan.

Other Thoughts: Would be five stars without that incessant whine.

1 out of 5 eggsCross your fingers that you don't need to RMA this card

Pros: 4870x2 cards are nice when they work properly.....

Cons: My card has been sitting in there RMA shop for 2 weeks and after repeated emails asking for the status I've yet to get a response that was helpful. The only response that has been sent I had to read three times since it was so poorly written and didn't offer anything useful. I took a risk going with Powercolor over Sapphire and I guess this is what I get....

Other Thoughts: At least I'm not stuck without a graphics card since I have a Sapphire 4870x2 that has been rock solid since day one.

5 out of 5 eggsPOWERCOLOR AX4870X2 is Awesome

Pros: Amazing Power, runs all apps with ease also in general the fan is low noise for the most part. This is the best card I have every owned - it is simply OUTSTANDING

Cons: None really, however it is abit hot but that's normal so you better have a nice case with lots of fans and you must a large power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat upgrade

Pros: Great Graphics card. Went from a high 6k score to a high 11k score on 3D Mark Vantage.

Cons: Driver software hick-up on first attempt to install it. Runs hot if you don't manually set the fan speed (75C on with the fan under automatic control while idling, 44-47C under load with the fan manually set to 50%). All temps according to the Catalyst software though.
Price.

Other Thoughts: Fan is relatively quiet, but you need to bump up the fan through the Catalyst Control Center (Overdrive turned on, turn on manual fan control, and set it). I have two PCI slot fans as well, and 4 other fans blowing on it as well. It might be overkill tho. Fast enough without overclocking, but the software lets you set everything yourself.
Great colors as well. I went from 12-20fps on HIgh Performance (EQ2), to 30-50 on High Performance during raid fights. ATI has won me back!
Download the Driver Software before installing, because it needs to be put on ASAP, or your card will sit at 75C or higher until you set the fan speed. Or just install liquid cooling to it.

2 out of 5 eggsnot so fast

Pros: Just one 4870 gpu is fast

Cons: Still can't get this thing to run BOTH gpus. Really rediculous. Drivers, bios, chipset updates - you name it. a week of internet searches and bulls---t.
With CCC AI disabled it will run but thats only one GPU ! With both Gpus enabled in games it crashes everytime.

Other Thoughts: Never will I buy ATI again.
