5 out of 5 eggsDOES Support 720P

Pros: Unlike others beliefs here, official 720p is 1280x720. This card displays that resolution just fine. it also displays 1366x768, which is what I use. Also displays 1360x768, so all resolutions are supported

Card also doesn't require additional power connector. Yes, it can be powered off the x16 slot.

Cons: I was a little disappointed to see the lack of single-slot variations that newegg used to have, but no longer does. This card fits in cases where i only had 1.5 x slot height.

Other Thoughts: Great card. I wasn't disappointed by performance, because I knew what I was getting. It's not a screamer, but it does fit into a Shuttle XPC case, as well as a Dell Optiplex mid tower (740/745/750/760)

3 out of 5 eggsWARNING DOES NOT SUPPORT 720P

Pros: Good Price. Sufficient for the job. (Basic Graphics and Less Demanding Games etc...)

Cons: BIG CON HERE: This con is one agaist ATI(AMD) This card and most others made by ATI(AMD) does not support True 720P Standard. Which for displays is 1366 x 768. Do not buy it you use a 720P Large screen for your monitor. In fact do not but any ATI until they address this issue. There is little information out there on this issue and AMD will not address it or make a software fix so that this hardware, and others will work under 1366 x 768. I really don't understand what they were thinking when they created a product that doesn't support probably the second most common screen resolution. Just plain dumb! Do not buy this if you intend to use it with a 720P LCD or Plasma Screen. It is a real pain in the backside. I bought it in part for the crossfire feature but I would have changed my entire system had I known I would have this many problems. I can only watch videos in 4:3 ratio and best comp resoution is 1024 x 768 which is also 4:3. You can use 1280 x 720 but it leaves black bars.

Other Thoughts: Overall ATI(AMD) is a HUGE disappointment. I would have bought SLI supported MB and a GeForce card had I known. This IS A BIG ISSUE and very common once you start looking. AMD has totally neglected to address it. Newegg has been great to deal with. Powercolor has done their job well. Everything else is as I expected but for me this one issue dominates and reduces my overall use and enjoyment of this product.

1 out of 5 eggsAn expensive disappointment

Pros: slightly better than nothing

Cons: Not even capable of handing 720p video.

Other Thoughts: No matter how cheap it seems, a product is a useless expense if it fails to do what it promises.

I installed this on my system to be able to play and edit HD video. I have a 3ghz dual core system with 3.25GB of fast RAM. I had to invest $80 in a new power supply to power this beast. While it is an improvement of my previous card, it STILL is unable to smoothly play back 720P video. Frame freezes, jerky jagged movements.

I'm very disappointed... My system should be plenty speedy enough, this card specifically advertises HD capability, and yet it's just not up to the task.

Look elsewhere, don't throw away your money like I just did.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

This card is very much capable of running HD video. Please give our tech support a call at 909.468.5100 and we'll help you to find out if it is a video card issue or something else in your system.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive, upconverts DVD picture

Pros: Very quiet, low wattage usage, uses 4870's chipset (so it says) to upconvert DVDs nicely, inexpensive, no required 6 pin power cable, upconvert means you don't need to spend another $100 or so for the software equivelant every year.

Cons: Not really a gamer's card, price, onboard HDMI sound prevents my Sound Blaster X-Fi gamer card from being detected (but that's not an issue).

Other Thoughts: DO download and use drivers from web site, very nice for quiet machines, docked a star because there are cards from competition that I have used that equal or exceed this card's gaming performance and cost a few dollars less, I believe the 4870's chipset for DVDs is different but I'm not positive, I haven't physically compared the 2 cards.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card! No Rebate :(

Pros: The card is fantastic. It runs Age fo Conan DX10 Version at full setting without problems. I get around 32 FPS steady in combat. On CoD4 I get 60+ FPS on medium settings, when maxed I get 30, but I like it higher for my FPS and could care less about graphics on that game. (not Crossfired for accurate specs)

Cons: I did not get any rebate information. I e-mailed about it and never got a response, so I got ripped off there!

No Con on the card. No Crashes, no heating issues, no sound problems.

Other Thoughts: It would have a 5 star if I got my rebate. Otherwise I would have gotten a 4830 for the 256bit memory.

If you get any 4670 you may as well get 2 and utilize crossfire. For teh price you cannot beat the card's performance, and it is amazing in Crossfire.

Also the above is on an AMD 5000 BE @ 3.2 a better CPU could get better Frame rates paired with this card, but that is great for the CPU I'm using.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the money

Pros: Will run crysis on high settings. exceeded my expectations for a card this price.

Cons: running vista 64 bit, so I had to download drivers from ati, but other than that, no cons I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Definitely recommend this video card to anyone building a system on a budget.
