4 out of 5 eggsCan't beat it for the price

Pros: Cheap
Works
Runs cool (50C @ idle)
Plays UT2004 max settings at 1280x1024 windowed (its on my second and third monitors)
Adapter brackets for small cases.

Cons: No fan controller
Shipping cost ($6) was high. The box was 4x6x8 and weights about 1-2 pounds.

Other Thoughts: Using this to drive my second and third monitors.
Whatever person at powercolor made the rebate form needs to be fired because a lot of the fields you need to write in don't have enough spacing. I guess they needed the room for all the whitespace.

Paired with a HD4870 and AMD 6400+.

3 out of 5 eggsThis thing runs hot!

Pros: Inexpensive, works well, HDMI

Cons: I purchased two of these cards to use in HTPCs. The power connector for the first cards cooler was not seated completely so the fan was not running until I reseated it. The second card had the power for the cooler intertwined in the fan blades. This could cause major problems if you just stick the card in without checking the fan. Additionally the cooler on this card does not do a good job of keeping the card cool.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely purchase an after-market cooler for this card if you want it to last more than a few months.

Manufacturer Response:

How hot is your card running? The card doesn't generate a lot of heat, so this cooler is more than sufficient. If you aren't having randomly shut downs, or heavy artifacting (both heat-related symptoms) then the card is doing an adequate job. Even if it runs hot, as long as you're not experiencing issues you'll be okay. GPUs have pretty high heat thresholds. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me. Hugo@powercolor.com. Thanks.

2 out of 5 eggsMemory Errors, No Support

Pros: Great Value if it works.

Cons: The card that I received had memory problems that caused visual corruption in 2D and 3D. I tried contacting PowerColor three times with no response. Ended up buying a different brand that I was more comfortable with.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg was awesome about the RMA.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize about tech support not getting back to you. If you still have this card and would still like to get it working feel free to contact me directly and I'll be more than happy to try and assist you. My e-mail is hugo@powercolor.com, and be sure to reference this review. Thanks.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card for the cash

Pros: Low Profile

Low Power Consumption

Handles HD media, gaming from Solitare to Crysis (full resolution, everything on medium is more than playable)

Cheap

Cons: 64-bit memory is probably the biggest drawback, but I'm not gonna complain for the price.

Runs a bit hot, the fan on it is anemic at best, but this could also be due to my case design

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace integrated graphics on a Dell Dimension E521. This system is an Athlon X2 Dual Core system, so I figured I'd toss in a cheap card and do a bit of gaming. The 64 bit memory slows it down a bit, but it keeps costs down, and does everything I need.

Important System Specs:

Athlon X2 4000+ Dual Core (2.10GHz)
2GB 667Mhz RAM

Everything else, meh... Nobody needs to know how many freakin fans or hard drives you have to judge the performance of a graphics card.

2 out of 5 eggsAvoid your temptation on this one

Pros: I purchased this card mainly because i wanted to have two monitors connected to my computer and possibly connect TV with HDMI. Newegg service and processing was and is top notched and very fast. I have been a long time customer of Newegg. I very much like the way they show each product in detail.

It was a cheap card with $10 rebate.... Now the rebate is $15.....but......

Cons: I am still waiting for the rebate after 3 months and I get excuse that the copy of e-mail invoice that I received from Newegg and sent with the form is not valid!.....
Card is OK but the Catalyst software did not work on my computer.

Other Thoughts: Poor service judging from the rebate related e-mails i have got so far.

I would avoid this card purchase from PowerColor.

Manufacturer Response:

It's usually 8-12 weeks before rebates checks get processed and sent back out. If it's been 3 months then you should be receiving it any day now. Either way, feel free to e-mail me at hugo@powercolor.com and I'll get you in contact with the correct department to inquire about your rebate. Thanks.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk - Dont buy(M/c keep crashing)

Pros: Really nothing so far.

Cons: I bought it because it has HDMI slot that I wanted for connecting it to my TV. My Window XP (SP3) keep crashing. The only way I bring up my machine is through uninstalling the ATI Driver 4660(came with CD), and putting the old graphics card with that driver. Has crashed more than q10 times in last 2 days. I will be returning it to Newegg soon.

Manufacturer Response:

It's quite possible that your card might be experiencing problems, but the card is definitely XP and Media Center certified. If you still have the card feel free to e-mail me and I'll be more than happy to help you try and figure out what's causing your problems. My e-mail hugo@powercolor.com, and be sure to reference this review please. Thanks.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent gaming performance and HDMI out, a win win situation.

Cons: Nothing really, works and does what I brought it for.

Other Thoughts: This card should be more than enough for media-pc applications or for non-gamers. Had an issue with TV display not being full screen, was easily fixed with over scan controls in ATi's CCC.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Card

Pros: I purchased this card mainly because i wanted to dual my monitor with my 50 Inch Panasonic. And when i got it i was thrilled and when it finally started to work i almost passed out on how clear everything was using the HDMI ports compared to S-Video, VGA Etc.

Cons: Since i have this small o'l HP Slimline PC i was worried on the fact that i would not fit. So i checked if it was low profile but i got HIGHLY CONFUZZLED when it came to switching it to low profile until i took a good look at it and noticed i had to unscrew the prone screw pieces. they should have mentioned that in the manual. the CD is somewhat useless but other than that it i had no other problems. one thing though your old VGA output to monitor that was on your motherboard is completely disabled

Other Thoughts: This is a nice little cheap Card if you simply wanna have dual monitors such has DVI > Typical Monitor and HDMI > TV. The graphics are swell but i think its the hdmi technology doing all of the work when it comes to the sharp clearness on my tv and monitor anyways always better than typical motherboard graphics.

2 out of 5 eggsWell, it's cheap enough with the rebate

Pros: Cheap with rebate and low profile. Fan is quiet. Came with the low profile bracket.

Cons: Nothing in the box except instructions and driver disc. Missed the part about 64 bit, otherwise I wouldn't be writing about this card. Another 4650 I have bought in low profile from Newegg had twice the memory at 128 bit in a low profile format for only a few dollars more. This one isn't even close to achieving the equivelent performance of the 9500GT it replaces (frame rates in the games I play on line dropped from mid-70's to high 50's)).

Other Thoughts: I'll go back to the previous brands I've purchased. And I'll be spending more money at Newegg this week to replace this card.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's OK, should be $29.95 every day.

Pros: It's cheap, it comes with low profile brackets for low profile cases, it's better than a 1GB PNY 9500GT card it replaces, driver installation was flawless. HDMI has audio output, which is a plus but I doubt I'll ever use it. Came much quicker than I expected from Newegg.

Cons: Bare bones, it comes with NO adaptors or any other goodies. 'Bump Top' software on installation disc is absurd and unnecessary, and it tries to sell you 'pro' version. Really sneaky on Powercolor's part. For a $45 card, it just seams cheaply made and needs something.

Other Thoughts: I had purchased an ASUS EAH4650/DI/1GD2/A(LP) Radeon HD 4650 1GB a few months ago for another true low profile system and that card is not only nicer looking, it is better constructed, 1GB memory, and has a better accessories package. And it was only a few dollars more, but now unavailable from Newegg (darn). Buy that one instead when it comes back in stock.
