2 out of 5 eggsGreat card but dosent last

Pros: amazing card feels heavy duty. when i first got it was stunned to see the difference from my 9500 gt. this card looked cool and i only needed a 500 watt with a 6 pin witch i already had a corsair with a 6 pin.( Amazing card when it lasted)

Cons: well it almost made it a year!! 8 months in the dam thing gave me a bunch of green screens (with lines) and blue error crash screen most gut wrenching feeling ever =*( great card when it worked though also i took it apart to see maybe if some wire popped off or something and and looks like someone put an entire tube of thermal paste on my gpu tried wiping some off and got a flicker of hope last night then a no signal screen once again!!!!

Other Thoughts: 2 eggs ( atleast i got a 8 good months )

5 out of 5 eggsPlays Diablo III on high

Pros: This card does everything that I need. It will play everything I throw at it right now. As I said, it plays Diablo III on high and I can't really see anything wrong with it's function.

Cons: It's been a while since I've done anything with desktops and I have to say that the card is really big. Other than that no issues.

4 out of 5 eggsDual Monitor Support

Pros: Great card for the price, plays most the games I play just fine and dandy. Great card if you're on a budget (like me).

Cons: Lack of Dual DVI makes dual monitors burdensome. I had to buy a MiniDisplay to DVI to use a 2nd monitor since I don't have a monitor that supports HDMI or a TV. Really this is more a design issue, but, I had to go blow an extra $28 on the adapter. Powercolor should include a MiniDisplay to Female DVI adapter instead of the weird Minidisplay to "something I've never seen before" adapter.

Other Thoughts: If you only need one monitor, this card works great...otherwise, probably best to go with the HIS card instead, which is what I should have done.

4 out of 5 eggsRe-Review

Pros: Card works Great, i got what i paid for. Performance per dollar its one of the best.

Cons: When i first read some of the Reviews stating that people had problems with this card as it would reboot there system every now and then, it did that to my system as well, but the Fix was simple, my Motherboard Bios was out of Date, i Updated my ASUS bios and Now it runs great, no more random system reboots and it plays all my games so far^^

As a Friendly Warning To Anyone that buys this card and experiences random system reboots when playing games, please update your Motherboard Bios, its what fixed my issue.

Other Thoughts: As i said, i got what i paid for and going to Buy another one soon.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price!

Pros: Runs everything fantastic. WoW, D3 both run wonderfully! Good Card, Good Price.

Cons: Lack of decent dual monitor support. While it does technically support 3 displays, lack of a 2nd DVI port is a severe weakness. I ended up having to spend an extra 10-$30 for an HDMI - DVI adapter or I'll have to buy a monitor that supports HDMI displays. Sorry Powercolor, but, this card isn't the best for multiple displays. You should include an HDMI to DVI adapter with the card if you don't intend to add a 2nd DVI port to the card. Further, the positioning of the HDMI port in relation to the DVI port makes it exceedingly difficult to find a suitable Male HDMI - Female DVI adapter, as the display plugged into the DVI doesn't leave enough room for HDMI-DVI adapter to fit properly. Good card, bad aesthetic design.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed with this card

Pros: Very pleased with this card! Looks great in my case, can't really hear the fan or anything as it's down under my desk. SpeedFan shows it idles nicely and then when my card is running hot it kicks into gear to cool it down, very much like it's performance in the games I play also!

I get 100+ FPS on Minecraft on max settings, far render distance and the like.

I also got 200+ FPS on Half-Life 2 and Portal.

Wasn't able to test my FPS out on Skyrim, but it played very smoothly on the highest settings(looked much better than my XBox 360 version)

Diablo III runs great, not sure on it's FPS either but it's superb!(I believe Xfire said 70+, but don't quote me on that)

This card is great with a SSD and the FX-6100!

My build:

ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+
AMD FX-6100 6-Core
G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB 1600 DDR
PowerColor Radeon HD 6790 1GB
NZXT GAMMA Classic Series GAMA-001BK
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 120GB SATA III SSD

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Would love to CrossFire this but I honestly don't need that much power. With the proper cooling I'm told you can OC this card to be on par with the 6850, I may try that when my fans get here.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Very quiet, big but not too big. Runs games really well by itself and even better in crossfire mode. Gets about 93 fps in COD black ops single or crossfire, about 50 fps on the witcher 2 on high settings with crossfire, 55 fps on Dirt 3 ultra settings in crossfire, 175 fps on left 4 dead 1 and 2. Performs similar to a Radeon 6970 when in crossfire but costs less.

Cons: Gets close to 70 degrees C when in crossfire, but may be a normal operating temp for it, I'm not really sure.

Other Thoughts: The graphics you get from just running one of these cards alone completely blow away graphics on any of the current gaming consoles. It's worth the money

3 out of 5 eggsgood service

Pros: Good fast service from newegg, they did't put any buts.

Cons: None really other then my card was DoA, but like I said newegg was fast in shipping me a new one, and getting the RAM was a easy.

Other Thoughts: Once I play with this card for a bit I will post a performance review.

Manufacturer Response:

I apologize for the card being DOA. We stand behind all of our products and we want to ensure you have a pleasant experience with our products. Please contact me at if you require the video card to be replaced through us instead of NewEgg.

Thank you,

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb value

Pros: This card is a great value to me. My Radeon HD 4870 served me very well but the fan failed the card was finished. This new card was less expensive and is a superior card to the 4870. I noticed the difference right away while playing SW:TOR. The detail is much improved and the game looks fantastic on the highest settings.

This card also requires less power than others that I have owned. It is a quiet card as well. The big test for me after my fan failed on my previous card was to test the temperature after several hours of gaming. After playing SW:TOR for about three hours on the highest graphic settings the card temperature was 50c. Not bad at all.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: This is totally petty but I would have preferred a rebate or discount instead of a voucher for a $50 game that I will never even use. If you want to give me value then do it directly and not with a free optional game that I would never have heard of had I not bought the card. Again that is no big deal and has nothing to do with the card itself. Just my "other thoughts" as it were. :-)
