5 out of 5 eggsWish List #1

Pros: My desktop only has room for a single slot. I am saving my money to purchase this card. I can't wait!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have researched all the available single slot cards on the market. This is by far the most powerful. For only 200 buck too! Oh thank heaven for New Egg!

5 out of 5 eggsBEST Single-Slot GPU currently on the market!!

Pros: *Easy Installation
*1GB video ram coupled with GDDR5 speeds (Fast)
*SINGLE-SLOT (which means able to be x4 Crossfired)

Cons: None at the moment, but it does have it's quirks. I'll mention some of them here..the noise made from the GPU can be heard if you don't have a headset on (the sound of the fan, but to be honest its very powerful gpu, so its actually kind of necessary). Also, it does disperse a good amount of heat (stays between 50 and 68 degrees Celsius in GPU-Z when playing Crysis 2 and Binary Domain 1080p). So if possible, try to make adequate space or cooling inside of rig for keeping this GPU cool under load.

Other Thoughts: The price IS NOT A CON. for all those who think this video card is overpriced, I will explain: It is SINGLE-SLOT and there is not a big market out for people who want single-slot only cards; only those who need to utilize a single slot card for space. Therefore this card is accurately priced since there is a small market. Also when you couple this with the amount of performance this thing gives, it is well worth the 200+ dollar tag.

I run this with Antec 430w Green and does just fine. My mobo underclocks this GPU to x16 1.1 speeds but it still well over exceeds my expectations. Great card for those with old computers with PCI-E slots.

BTW, purchased from eb ay site. Same shipping, same delivery time (3 days tops).

Runs everything 1080p just fine even though my CPU bottlenecks me. I can get an even 20-30 upwards to 50 FPS in games like Crysis 2 all the way down to Quake 3 and UT. Best single-slot card out there!!

Will update with future review.

4 out of 5 eggsNo competition

Pros: This is the most powerful single-slot GPU on the market. Great if, like me, you're a crazy person and like building gaming PCs in tiny Mini-ITX cases.

Cons: The 6850 is normally among the best-bang-for-buck video cards that you can buy; this card is an almost 50% markup from the average price. Unfortunately, it has no competition for what it is.

5 out of 5 eggsCAN RUN QUAD FIRE

Pros: this goes to rand, notice that you can run 4 cards. the other 6850's you can only run 2 cards. that may be part of the reason for the price. the power color 6770 single slot can also run 4. that's cool.i have the power color 6870.(glad to see it back on the egg, so i can get another) it can only have 2 cards. but these cards are in my future, at least 3 of them.

Cons: don't own it yet.

Other Thoughts: keep these in stock please. also the 6970 power color isn't on the egg any more. the 5 eggs is based on power color quality.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful single slot solution for small cases

Pros: Nice and hefty single slot card with a fairly powerful GPU (Win 7 rates it 7.7 and 7.7). Pretty much every game I play at high settings at 1080p runs smoothly; at least 40fps (Starcraft 2, Borderlands, L4D2, Crysis, NBA2K11). Runs pretty cool for me 45C idle and 68C under load, IIRC. Uses only one 6-pin PCIe connector and it's a good thing it was mounted at the back since my case cover wouldn't close if it was one of those vertical ones. I like that I can drive four monitors with this single slot card. It just looks cool. I gave a 5 egg rating because it performs exactly as I expected.

Cons: Costs a lot more than a normal 6850, so you're paying for the single slotted-ness. At idle, the fan is pretty quiet, and while the fan can get a bit loud under load, it doesn't bug me that much. Maybe because it's a smooth sound or maybe because my CPU fan is even louder under load. I've been waiting for this card and emailed PowerColor a couple times a while back asking about the release date and card length and they NEVER replied at all so boo to you PowerColor.

Other Thoughts: Installed this into a ThermalTake Element Q mini-ITX case with a Core i5 2500K. I'm normally a silent PC guy, but I wanted the most power possible in this tiny case. There aren't many powerful single slot cards and I think the only one more powerful than this is the Sparkle's ridiculously long GTX 570. Not the card's fault, but my HDMI cable will not push in all the way due to how the case's card slot has a metal fold, although it would help if the HDMI port was a bit higher. FYI: This card is about 9.25" long so I had about 1.75" to spare.

3 out of 5 eggsNice but Loud

Pros: Thin, single slot, looks shiny and solid.

Cons: Very loud. I got Catalyst 11.5 Overdrive fan to 30-35% and it is still loud. I guess that's the drawback of having thin fins.

Other Thoughts: Really wanted to get this once I heard of it because I have an ASUS Rampage 3 Gene (Micro-ATX). A standard dual slot crossfire was just out of the question. The noise is bearable when I game but when I do light load work it gets annoying.
