Fabricated around the next-generation NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX GPU core, the PNY VCG8800XXPB PCI-E graphic card is nothing but brute power. Designed to appease the most demanding of the pros, this "graphic machine" is ideal for ultra-high end gaming systems. This high-performance card features full DirectX 10 support and Shader Model 4.0 for the ultimate in graphic realism. Boasting of 768 Megabytes of 384-bit GDDR3 onboard memory, it sports a revolutionary new NVIDIA unified architecture with GigaThread technology. This ensures hyper-realistic gaming and movies with ultra-smooth playback. Some of the other noteworthy specs of this card are 575 MHz core clock speed, 1800 MHz memory clock speed, and 1350 MHz Shader clock speed, all of which come together to provide an almost surreal gaming experience.

The NVIDIA Lumenex Engine delivers stunning image quality at ultra-high frame rates. Quantum Effects Technology processes simulated physics right on the GPU and frees up the core CPU unit for superior gaming performance. PureVideo HD Technology offers true high-definition video decoding to yield unparalleled and accurate video and color. OpenGL 2.0 Optimizations and Support ensures that it is compatible with a wide variety of OpenGL applications. The VCG8800XXPB is SLI ready, and hence you can pair two of these super-GPUs in one gaming system, and set the benchmark for pro gaming.

  • newegg NVIDIA Unified Architecture with UltraThread Technology The fully-unified shader core dynamically allocates processing power to geometry, vertex, physics and pixel shading operations, delivering incredibly true-to-life 3D graphics. In addition, the massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs.
  • newegg Full Microsoft DirectX 10 Support The world's first DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects.

The must-have feature for PCI Express graphics, NVIDIA SLI technology allows two graphics cards to run in parallel and dramatically scales performance on today's hottest games.
  • newegg NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology The combination of high-definition video decoding acceleration and post-processing delivers unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color and precise image scaling for all video content, especially movies.

5 out of 5 eggsThis beast will not die

Pros: Will handle everything thrown its way. Although still a [G80] core it will perform as well a any [G92] core currently marketed.
When first released I could not justify the price~599...give or take a few. All I can say sometimes newer [G92] is not always better. However this is subjective to users needs and rest of the hardware in computer.

Cons: Huge, comes with handle that I needed to remove so it will fit in case. Heat, excellent airflow is a must as good aftermarket H/S/F. Originally price was a major factor, now it is not. Newer versions have great price point too.

Other Thoughts: Specs:X3210 Quad@3.65ghz/AC Freezer Pro
P5K Premium/WiFi/4x1Gb GSkill F2-6400CL5-1GBNQ
EVGA 8800GTX 768mb
2x36Gb WD Raptors Raid0/WD 80gb sata
Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality Extreme Gamer
Lian Li Pc-7B plusII/PC Power and Cooling 850 SSI Turbo
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker system

I had a MSI NX8800 GT OC 512mb [G92 core] that came with excellent aftermarket cooling I purchased here at the egg which is a great card but the GTX blows it away, not just benching but in real world use. I purchased the GTX for less than the MSI expecting similar performance with the new die shrink and newer Ddr and PCB revisions but alas the GTX more than held its own. I see some new cards released newer GTX but I personally have not tested any. All the newer cards look great on paper but real world performance is well real world performance. The new ones are 448 bit or 512 bit which will make the difference providing newer up to date hardware is used. Prices are real competitive too.

5 out of 5 eggsShe's a champ.

Pros: This card is a brute. From the moment you get the box until you are running Crysis at very high settings you know you have something special.

Cons: It only comes with drivers fro Windows XP Pro and Windows XP Pro 64 bit. No vista drivers included, but they're easily downloadable from the nVidia site. So do yourself a favor and update to the latest drivers right away. Course, thats pretty much any video card. Obviously with the high quality this card is very fragile, and if you dropped it you would be out of luck.

5 out of 5 eggsTons Of POWER

Pros: This card takes anything you can throw at it. If you want to be able to cut down the North Koreans in Crysis at very high settings, than this puppy is for you. From the moment you open the box until you're doing it, you know you are looking at something high end and special. Also runs Vista Ultimate with no lag lol.

Cons: When you pick this card up it's obvious it's not just very complicated but also very fragile, and if you bumped it, nicked it, or dropped it, you'd be out of luck. Handle with care.

Other Thoughts: If you can spare the cash, it's the latest and greatest, and considering what it can do, I don't see why you'd even want to try SLI-'ing them because I don't see the bang for the buck.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT VIDEO CARD, BUT NOT FOR THE PRICE!

Pros: IVE OWNED THE 8800GT, 8800GTS 640MB AND 512MB AND NOW THE 8800GTX(HAD 2 IN SLI-->NOT WORTH THE PRICE FOR PERFORMANCE FOR SLI), AND THE 8800GTX IS THE STRONGEST CARD IVE OWNED THUS FAR.

Cons: HOT!! RUNS 53C-55C ON IDLE EVEN WITH THE FAN CRANKED UP TO 85%!!, AND 68C+ ON LOAD. I RECOMMEND YOU BUY THE Thermalright HR-03 Plus VGA Cooler FOR THIS CARD. BROUGHT THE TEMP DOWN 12-13C. DID I MENTION THAT THIS CARD IS LOOOOOONNNG!! HAD TO MOVE SOME WIRES AROUND TO GET THIS MONSTER IN PLACE.

Other Thoughts: COMPARED TO THE 512MB 8800GTS I WOULD GO WITH THE GTS INSTEAD. ONLY REASON IS THE PRICE. I GOT THIS CARD FOR A SUPER GOOD DEAL AND COULDNT PASS IT UP.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Solid amazing card. Easy install, pretty much plug and go.

Cons: The card takes up two slots, and is also very long. Can have problems fitting in Midsize Tower or smaller.

Other Thoughts: A great card and worth the money, (as long as you can fit it in your case)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Graphics card well worth the money

Pros: Excellent Graphics card by PNY. Runs stable, and not as hot as some of the competitors. Has some overclocking capabilities, and allows me to run Crysis with full everything including AA, and shadows. (My CPU Specs below)

Cons: The resulting power bill...
The size...
It is recommended to keep the slot in front of the fan open to provide sufficient air flow to the card.

Other Thoughts: I currently have an Intel X38 based system and it does not support SLI so i can not have two of them in SLI. It can however be used for dual monitors if thats your cup of tea...

I currently run:
Intel E6850
Asus Maximus Mobo
4 gig corsair DDR2 800 ram
one of the above mentioned gfx cards.

5 out of 5 eggsHands down best product!

Pros: Hands down the best thing I have owned. I purchased 2 of these cards and run them in SLI. It runs anything I can throw at it and not even a stutter!

Cons: heats up to 70C-88C degrees with stock Heat sinks. I recommend Danger Den 8800GTX water blocks.

Other Thoughts: I replaced the stock heat sinks and fans with DD8800GTX and now BOTH cards idle at 25-27C and with full load I have never seen it pass 36C THATS INSANE. Plus I have my Penitum d Extreme 965 OC to 4.25 GHZ as well still temps are very low!

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost didnt fit!

Pros: Its a monster living in your pc

Cons: Its big. It runs hot blah blah blah

Other Thoughts: I have an hp desktop elite mid tower case. It was extremely difficult getting this to fit. I had to ditch my tv tuner because this behemoth blocked the pci slots. My mobo is so tiny.
