1 out of 5 eggsarrived broken

Pros: none

Cons: the card arrived defective and by the time the technician finally figured it out my window for RMA expired

Other Thoughts: I'm building a machine to run Avid Media composer (it's my first build). Windows wouldn't install properly. I gave the computer to two more tech savy friends and finally brought it to a computer repair store. He took a weeke to figure out that this card wasn't working correctly and now my RMA window has expired.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: I use it for a CAD workstation and it works fine. I don't work with really large assemblies, so I have not noticed any deficiency in the card. So for what I do, it's a good card for the money.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggseggcellent

Pros: Does just what I wanted it to--run Avid. This card is the lowest end graphics card that Avid's system specs require.
Sleek, doesn't take up two slots like most gfx cards these days--yet fairly solid in build and seems high quality--as I would hope for a 'workstation'.

Cons: Only problem I've had is that Photoshop doesn't like it and complains that it's not a good enough card and turns off some things. I go back into preferences and turn them back on (it's openGL acceleration or advanced effects or something or other) and it works just fine.

Other Thoughts: Never used PNY before, but it seems you have little choice when shopping for Quadros.
Again, I have no feedback concerning it's performance in games or 3D design or anything else really. I bought it with the sole intention of running video editing properly according to software requirement listings, and so far it has met those expectations. As far as rendering goes, from what I've seen all rendering is done by the processors, for both timeline and exporting--which makes sense because have 4 or 8 workstation cores is a lot more powerful than the video card.
What the card DOES do, in theory, is enable a few more realtime openGL effects and transitions and stuff (real time playback without having to render). Because I haven't compared and contrasted directly, I have not noticed any difference in this respect.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Card works absolutely great for the money. Does every thing i need it to do in solidworks and even runs realview just fine. If you are looking for a nice nvidia card to run solidworks and wont break the bank this is a nice one.

Cons: wish it was open GL 2.1. makes a massive difference in performance.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy withit

Pros: My PC configuration:

AMD Opteron 165 Denmark
Asus A8n-SLI
2GB Ram
120GB HD
Quadro Fx570

O.S. Debian 64Bit Lenny

Honestly, I was very impressed when I performed the test with SPECViewperf
(you can see the result below), and the Quadro FX570 is also performing very well under Maya 2009 (Linux Version).
I read that some people is not very happy with this card's performances... the only thing that I can say to them is: TRY THIS CARD WITH LINUX! (if you can).

Many times is the OS the problem and not the video card :D

Cons: Maybe the price, but in the computer world, old peripheral are always more expensive that the recent ones.

Other Thoughts: Benchmark performed unde Debian 64Bit Lenny with driver 180.29

Geforce 6600GT

5 out of 5 eggsSolid CAD Workstation Card

Pros: I use SolidWorks and have always used PNY Quadro cards. I guess I don’t have anything to compare them to but from all of the information I have gathered about SolidWorks workstations and the amount of trouble I have had with my Vid Cards there is no reason to switch.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsEntry Level

Pros: It is capable of basic 3D CAD work.
Runs great on 2D CAD work.
Fair price.
It runs on Vista.
Has not broken.

Cons: Slow. Even on basic models this has trouble. Even worse on Vista.

The Nvidia website will even tell you this is for entry level.
(I wish we would have listened to them)

Other Thoughts: If you are learning some 3D software or only use 2D it is a decent card. If you will be using 3D software half the time or more then I have one thing to say:

Go for a more high range product or you will definitely regret it.

My company thought "hey we don't do this stuff too often lets save some money!" I'm regretting every minute of making that decision.

5 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: All drivers for Vista 64 were available from the site. Very nice card for engineering and video editing. Runs the full Vista Aero experience fine. It registers as a 5.0 for Graphics and a 5.2 for gaming graphics, even though it is not a gaming card. Running a dual display set up.

Cons: The mobo would not POST with this card in the slot. Had to use the onboard video to change a BIOS setting in order for it to default to PCI express. The card then worked fine. Strange settings at first, where Vista did not recognize it and turned off Aero the first few times I booted up and it kept saying new hardware installed. Everything is running fine now.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you restart the computer after each driver is installed or you will get strange behavior. Very nice card for what it was designed to do.

1 out of 5 eggsNewTek: LightWave 3D

Pros: Cheap, but not cheap enough.

Cons: Doesn't work at all with NewTek's products, such as LightWave 3D. Do NOT get this if your going to use LightWave 3D.

Other Thoughts: Save your money up, and get a higher CPU (Processor) Trust me!!!
