5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: So far the card is running great. It is a huge improvement on my integrated graphics. Runs everything I have played at max, but I haven't purchased some of these newer games to try like crysis or bioshock.

Cons: Runs pretty hot but the fan does a good job of getting the heat out of there quick.

Other Thoughts: I'm not huge on gaming, just needed something better than the weak 6150SE that came with my hp. This is a great upgrade for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: I've had this card for about a week now, and I've been very pleased. It plays Bioshock very smoothly with maxed setting.
I was a bit worried about overheating in my cramped case, but I've never seen it go above 74C.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a serious gamer. 8600s are on the low end of DX 10 cards. It would be well worth the few extra bucks to get an 8800 if you want to play newer games.

2 out of 5 eggsCrash and Burn

Pros: Card had great graphics and worked well while it lasted.

Cons: The first card lasted a whole 33 days before it started having jumpy graphics and freeze ups after about 20 to 30 minutes of playing 3d games.I immediatedly rma'd it back to newegg and got a replacement for it.Well that one lasted 3 days before I started to have the same problems.I had installed them in a new system and had more than enough cooling so heat wasn't the problem.I checked out the Nvidia forums and found the 8600GT has had alot of problems like this.I'm very disappointed in this card and would not buy it again.

Other Thoughts: The system installed in was: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe MB, AMD 5000+ Black edition running at 2.8GHz, 2 Gig PC6400 Ram, 500 Gig Sata HD.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: I went from playing oblivion on med setting with my 6600 card to being able to play with full shadows water detail and anti-aliasing at 8x. This is a great deal if you areon't wanting to spend hundreds on a video card. And as always neweggs service team is excellent i ordered it wed night at 7 and it was on my doorstep at 11 fri.

Cons: none yet

5 out of 5 eggsNice card for the money

Pros: Just did a full upgrade and of course I had to get a new video going from AGP NVIDIA 6200 WOW what a difference. So far no complaints and for the money cannot beat it. Ya I know it is not the 8800 but low budget upgrade worked out very well

Cons: nadda

Other Thoughts: System config
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.8GHz, MSI 570n AM2 board, Rosewill 600W PSU, 2GB Dual channel ram

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Working as intended.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a failing 7900 GT with this card and it works flawlessly. Scores higher in sys mark and I'm able to play some games I hadn't been able to before at a decent frame rate (crysis). For the price it was a good answer to replacing an old card with something mid-range that's capable of handling 90% of my gaming needs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Card

Pros: Great card. Fast and efficient. For all the reviews I read about it I was under the impression it wouldn't run much better than the 6800 it's replacing. If double is "not much better" then they're right. Also, didn't have to deal with a rebate!

Cons: The fan had a really annoying whine for the first 10-15 minutes I was using it. It wasn't louder than a normal fan, just high pitched and irritating. It's pretty much gone now, occasionally it whines for a little.

Other Thoughts: No CD/software to install from, but XP brought up the installer for the driver and I updated from right away. I realize that the 128 bit mem interlace is a bottleneck compared to the 256 bit for the 6800, but this card still greatly outperforms. 71-82 average fps in the Source stress test for the 6800, 151 fps for the 8600. 1024x768 but I forget what all the other settings were, sorry. They were kept the same for each card though as far as I know. So unless this card explodes/dies soon, I'm plenty happy with my purchase for price!

PS: If it matters it seemed to run Rainbow Six Vegas much better, but I don't have numbers for that.
