5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Fast and runs great; no problems as of yet.

Cons: Rebate was denied until I called. Now I finally got it and I am happy

4 out of 5 eggsSpectacular Performance -- Failed Rebate

Pros: Power consumption and heat output within expectations -- running in Antec 300 Illusion case. Auto-detects maximum settings under BF3. Even after hours of BF3 gameplay, the card's fan never kicks on full speed. Works well under both Windows 7 and Novell openSUSE Linux (both 64-bit). The GTX580 is definitely a power-house. Paired with AMD FX-8150 Bulldozer, 16GB RAM on a Gigabyte 970-series motherboard. Antec 650W power supply provides ample juice for this setup (never more than 60% load under the worst circumstances, as verified by Kill-A-Watt meter).

Cons: I purchased this particular GTX580 reference design over another due to the rebate that was being offered at the time (October) for purchases of this card made at NewEgg. All required materials were submitted to ECS, but now 2 months later (January) ECS replied (via snail mail) stating I 'submitted an invalid UPC.' (And yes, I submitted the UPC from the ECS box; now I have a box with a big hole in the side.) I would not have purchased this card had it not been for the rebate being offered for it. Moral of the story -- the product is great, but DO NOT PURCHASE IT if you expect the rebate to come through. There are other graphics card manufacturers out there that will honor rebate submissions.

Other Thoughts: I would have purchased a different video card (also at NewEgg) had I known in advance that ECS would be pulling shenanigans with the rebate. My nice video card just got fifty dollars more expensive and ECS just got added to my list (yes, I have a list) of companies that weasel out of honoring properly submitted rebates. Unfortunately there is very little recourse a customer has to get companies to honor rebate submissions other than to pass the word along to other potential consumers. As I read other NewEgg user feedback regarding ECS products, the company's failure to honor rebates is a recurring theme. AVOID ECS PRODUCTS if your purchase decision is based largely on the rebate coming through!

Pros: this card works fine. probably just as good as other brands, but less money

Cons: exspensive ,but it is very fast

Other Thoughts: over clocking really does nothing but burn cards out. in game you wont even see the difference. cpu q6600 4 gig ram 600 watt corsair supply. mine never goes above 65 deg.and all i do is game replaced my bfg8800gtxOC. that began to fail.probably couse it was overclocked

5 out of 5 eggsStandard Reference Card... Can't Complain!

Pros: I believe this card is a reference Nvidia card with ECS simply putting their stickers on it. I was reluctant to go with ECS because they're not known to be a force in the graphics card arena but this card runs everything I've thrown at it with east and it has never peaked above 55 degrees Celsius!

Packaging and extras were minimal but effective so I can't complain about it. The card came in bubble wrap and was not going to be moving anywhere in the box.

It's only been a few days, but for the price of $400 after mail in rebate, I say you can't go wrong with this card. After all, it is the best single GPU card on the market from Nvidia and it's less than 50 dollars more than some 560ti and 570 variant cards from other manufacturers.

Cons: No overclocking support from ECS. The drivers and suites provided are the standard Nvidia applications.

Having to mail in for my 50 dollars back.

Other Thoughts: Fast shipping from Newegg. My thrid order and all have come in at less than 2 days after placing the order. Thank you, Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Reference GTX 580, purchased 2 for a SLI build and both have been working fine so far.

Cons: None yet, hopefully the rebate comes.

Other Thoughts: lowest priced gtx 580 currently.
