5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good!

Pros: Value, performance

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I read some reviews about this card being loud...I've heard some loud cards but this thing is very nearly silent to me. Package recieved from shipper in the products original box with instillation disc. Card was in a sealed double thick plastic envelope.

We'll see how it goes, but I'm very impressed at how big of a bump this was over my radeon 3400. Everything looks and moves FANTASTIC as far as games go. Playing skyrim without a hiccup!

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, but

Pros: Not too much bad to say, it ran the games I tend play. That said, I didn't try Crysis on it, I did that on my newer card.

Cons: The cooling fan died this week. Now the card is useless unless I go buy another one. Maybe I'll just pop in my old 9800GT instead. (But that means I have to buy another 6 pin power cord).

Other Thoughts: A longer lasting fan would have served this unit better.

1 out of 5 eggsIt's Dead Jim

5 out of 5 eggsECS Customer Service Problems

Pros: This is not against Newegg. I will always buy from Newegg their product selection, shipping, and customer service is stellar.

However ECS Elitegroup is a whole other matter.......

Cons: The replacement video card was received on: August 22nd., 2012
Countless emails, phone calls, lots of stress, and assurances from ECS Elitegroup.
Wednesday 08.22.2012 Fed-Ex delivers the package, I open it and inside is what
appears to be a new box. However inside the box I find:
1.) No Documentation
2.) No Driver DVD
3.) The Video Card is packed only in the red bubble wrap. No Protective anti-static sleeve.
4.) I look on the back of the replacement video card and see the sticker that identifies it as a re-furbished product.

I will give you some background on all of this.
I am on a fixed income. I work part-time (18 hrs.) a week @ minimum wage. It took me a long time to save up the money to purchase the original video card. I purchased this video card because I was awarded a scholarship through Florida Institute of Technology for certification in Autodesk 3ds Max. The cost of the course was: $1745.oo
I now have missed so much of the course that I probably can't

Other Thoughts: I paid $70.98 for the original (defective) video card.
It then cost me $12.20 to ship the "defective" card back to ECS Elitegroup I can't get a refund for the course. I can't receive another scholarship. I can't use the software, or take the classes online, or attend the online seminars without a video card. This is an opportunity that I am going to lose because I bought a video card from ECS Elitegroup and because ECS Elitegroup
wouldn't do the correct thing and just send me a "new" replacement for the defective video card that I had purchased.

And now the only response I get when I send in a new ticket to technical support at ECS Elitegroup is someone there asking me to send them pictures.
It has already been (as of today) 36 (thirty-six) days and counting.

Maybe by reading this is will at least make other think before they purchase any products from ECS Elitegroup.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate - Usable with fan controller!

Pros: 128-bit, faster gddr5 memory, price

Cons: noise (fixable)

Other Thoughts: I got this almost a year ago for a Dell E510. It worked great, but the computer bottlenecked this card with it's old Pentium 4-HT CPU. I upgraded to a newer dual-core Athlon 64 X2, and it works great now. I can run games just fine. The only thing that still annoyed me was the loud noise of the fan. I didn't want to completely replace the heatsink/fan unit on the card, so I found a ZALMAN Fan Mate II controller I had laying around, plugged this fan into it and the other end into a molex adapter, and it solved the problem! I can now lower the fan speed during normal computing, then raise it a bit during gameplay to keep the card cool. I think the Fan Mate is $7 here on newegg, so get one if you want to solve the fan noise. I definitely still recommend the card!

5 out of 5 eggsBuyers Beware of ECS Support

Pros: Card worked just fine for approx. a month. Then I started experiencing intermittent problems. The card would just stop working. No video, either a black or white screen and nothing to do but shut down the computer via the power button.

Cons: Newegg is awesome, I will give them 5 stars for their service, support and products that they carry. ECS on the other hand is just terrible as far as customer service goes.
Go to Facebook, go to ECS site and read all of my posts and the responses that ECS has given me.

Newegg you should stop carrying ECS products.

Other Thoughts: BUYERS BEWARE !!!!!!!

Read my posts,,, understand the kind of customer support you are going to receive if you buy one of the ECS products.

I'm wondering if Newegg, and Tiger Direct, and the other US Distributors actually know how ECS treats their customers ?

I guess the next step is to start emailing all of my posts and responses (or lack thereof) to Newegg and Tiger Direct and the other major US Distributors to let them know just how terrible your customer service actually is. I hoping this will prompt them into stop carrying ECS products.

It's bad enough that I buy a new product and it starts failing after about a month. But, I understand that these things do happen even with the best of products. But the solution to my problem has been.

1.) Try installing the video card on another machine to see if you still get the problem.

2.) If you do, then ship the product back to ECS and "then" ECS will test it on one of their machines to see if the problem can be d

Manufacturer Response:

I sincerely apologize for any miscommunication and delays that you may have encountered and will look into your concerns.

The RMA department has issued an RMA and emailed you. If you did not receive this email please do contact me, so I can help to ensure that your RMA is proceeding as it should.

Our hours are Mon-Fri 9am-6pm PST.

Andy

4 out of 5 eggsGreat low-budget card

Pros: Great card, will run any modern game on at least medium settings. Doesn't get too hot, has slick looking fan cover.

Cons: Will occasionally have a kernel freak-out, but recovers immediately and happens rarely.

Other Thoughts: This card is a great bang for your buck, for the occasional or financially challenged gamer.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprise Card

Pros: This card gave me much more than I expected from it. I was just wanting to play BF3 and Skyrim on low settings cause my old graphics card wouldn't even load. I play BF3 on medium settings and Skyrim on high, this is a very powerful little guy.
I was even able to overclock this thing to a full 1000 MHz on the core clock and 1800 MHz on the memory clock and runs super cool.

Cons: None really. I wish I could control the fan speed, but you cannot.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this card to anyone on a very tight budget, like poor people like me.
