5 out of 5 eggsNice card!

Pros: Upgrading my Dell GX270 in order to keep it functional for another couple of years. This card popped right in (a little tight, but it won't be falling out!). Installed the drivers and it worked magnificently. Newer games are now playable (Civ 4, Sims, etc).

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I downloaded the newest drivers from nVidia (forceware 1.69.21) and after installing the card I canceled out of the hardware wizard (XP Pro) and just ran the nVidia forceware driver installation software. Rebooted and everything worked great. Did not even open the enclosed CD (which would have just installed an older version of forceware anyways).

1 out of 5 eggsThis thing is on FIRE! Literally.

Pros: Good price for a medium range card.

Cons: Terrible design and engineering. I had this thing for less than 1 week. I was running some benchmarks to test it's performance against my old card (GF3TI). After about 3 test in the suite, a capacitor starting smoking. Luckily, I was looking at the open PC case and was paying attention. Then, sparks started flying and flames shot out of some surface mount chips near the bracket. By the time I could power my PC down via the button, it was burning with flames. Luckily, I caught it in time and saved the rest of my system. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Other Thoughts: I've bought over a thousand bucks worth of stuff from Newegg over the years, and this is the first item that I was truly disappointed with. To their credit, I received a full refund and they paid for shipping back. However, they should really review their purchasing policies from vendors who create/sell substandard products. This card is evidently not engineered to take the heat of heavy graphics.
BTW... the card reads as a 6800XE in the BIOS upon boot.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for an athlonxp system

Pros: This is a great card for those with an older system and cant upgrade to a pcie based board. Was able to unlock all pipes, however even unlocked is was still slower than my 6600gt agp 128mb. Not alot but the difference was noticeable.

Cons: This thing runs freakin hot. I don't mean "wow thats kinda warm". I mean doubles as a spot heater. Even with the pipes locked. I wouldn't recommend running this without upgrading the cooler for very long.

2 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: Worked fine as a video card for an older AGP system... until it stopped working.

Cons: The heat sink and fan did not work well enough, the card started freezing randomly and then finally burnt out. Mine worked for only 9 months, and then I had to put back in the old card it replaced (which still works after I've had it for 4 years.)

Other Thoughts: Newegg sent it out quickly and efficiently.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card esp. for the price

Pros: Card runs great on an old system.

Cons: First card I got would run only intermittently (it would run fine when cold but after the card warmed up it would not run). I pulled out a lot of hair while trying to get the card to work on two different computers before I walked away for a bit (which let the card cool) and I found that the card would work for short periods when the computer would boot with the card cold.

The Newegg RMA system worked great. I had no problems with it and received a replacement card in a timely manner.

The second card seems to run fine. It was a bit finicky to install.

Other Thoughts: I used old drivers (77.72) from the Nvidia site to install on a Win98se computer. My MB only runs 2X/4X and the card works great 4X.

I needed to use a driver cleaner (remove drivers, boot in safe mode, run cleaner, use "add new hardware"). Just plugging the card in and letting the computer find new hardware did not seem to give a clean install of the drivers. PnPlay always installed generic drivers first and when the Nvidia drivers were installed there seemed to be conflicts.

After removing the old drivers and removing any display adapters, using PnPlay did not work to install and the driver installer (77.72) would not finish the install because it would not find the card so I needed to “add hardware” and “have disk” (browse to the folder with the 77.72 files) to install the video card. Once I did that, things seemed to install fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: I plugged it in and it worked without a hitch. Not only that but (with the aid of google) this card was easily unlocked to 16 pixel pipelines and 6 vertex processors, not to mention nearly doubled the gpu clock speed (250mhz -> 400mhz) and memory speed (550mhz -> 800mhz). To top it all off it withstood 3hrs of NWN2 at these settings (30-40 fps in 1024 x 786). Thanks newegg!

Cons: No GPU temp censor.
I hope it lasts more than a few weeks.

Other Thoughts: This was a good upgrade from my Geforce4 Ti 4200, which refused to play NWN2 in anything except wireframe mode.

5 out of 5 eggsVery effective

Pros: This video card was very easy to install, and i don't know squat about computers.
Its surprisingly cheap for such good quality!

Cons: For the first couple of hours I could smell a burning odor coming from the PC, but it went away after some time.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card so i could get more FPS on WoW and it gives me an average of 21 with all the settings turned up, and an average of 43 with them at a medium setting.

3 out of 5 eggs2nd one works

Pros: Thisis the second one I have recieved after RMAing the first one, se previous review. decent improvement over my GF6200, quake 4 went from autodetecting low to medium settings w/o overclocking or trying to unlock pipes. It's smaller than the first card I received and doesn't have a molex plug either.

Cons: intermitent high pitched sounds coming from card, probably the fan, but it happens only sometimes when graphics are changing on screen, very weird, but since the card IS working i'm not RMAing it again unless I have to. Also, there is no temp sensor on this card. I had planned on trying to OC this card and try unlocking the pipes but w/o a sensor and the wierd sound there is no way I'm gonna try it.

Other Thoughts: Once again the card is identifying itself as a different card than what it says on the box. show's up as a 6800XE not LE. I'm not sure what the differences are but it's weird and also it has an xe sticker on the back of the card too in addition to the LE sticker. So it would apear that Zogis is selling one card as two different ones.

5 out of 5 eggsnice card

Pros: works well on old 4x board with low watt power supply.stands alone in its class . works with supplied drivers very good.as long as you uninstall previous drivers reboot with card installed after removing drivers let windows load driver when it asks if you have disc and you should not have any trouble.very good colors and graphics. fast pace ,loads good ,run good on old and new games.impressing on an 8 year old computer with a 166 mhz front side bus.too get full benefits you have to adjust advanced settings. but you can run them all if you want.it runs good with everything on.

Cons: depends on your need for speed but this has to max me out.if I only could find a bigger power supply for this old rig. but this card does make it all worth it.

Other Thoughts: to seat the card right you might try installing it then removing it then installing it again to make sure it seat right. tight but good fit.
