3 out of 5 eggsGood budget card but not as good as can be

Pros: Great price for a card from this generation. Unlockable cores which is also a plus. Doesn't require an extra power plug. Small heatsink for cramped cases.

Cons: I bought 2 of these for budget system builds and wasn't impressed as much as I was hoping for. I have owned and sold several 6800XT's and for some reason, these run about half the speed of the others. It may be the 128bit, but I am not really sure as they also fall behind the 6600GT's I used and sold which are also 128 bit. 1 unlocked to 12/6, the other unlocked to 12/5. Both respectable since they started at 8/4. Tried different drivers also no difference on 3DMark03. Scores average 5000 on SocketA 2.1ghz Barton system, and also Athlon64 3000+ 2.0ghz socket 939 system, and Sempron 3000+ Socket 754 system. Other 6800XT's from EVGA, PNY, Asus hit 10000 avg. 128Bit coupled with low speeds are probably the reason for the low performace as 6600GT's are usually 128 bit GDDR3 at 1100 to 1300mhz instead of 533mhz like this card.

Other Thoughts: Not as good as 6600GT or other brand 6800XT, but also not anywhere near the price. Will play most games fine but haven't tried Crysis or Gears of War yet. I would say medium to low detail settings on most newer games, but still hard to beat for the price even if you go ATI.
One OC'd to 365core 660mem, the other OC'd to 335core, 630mem. Aslo heatsink bottom is DEFINITELY not flat. Contact patch was only about 1/3 the surface of the die due to uneven heat sink bottom. I started with 100 grit and ended with 600 grit and Arctic Silver Ceramique.

4 out of 5 eggsdecent little card

Pros: Affordable, 256 MB, NVIDIA!!!

Cons: runs a liitle warm, runs hot w/ over clocking and yep, the biostar fan does wear out quick and there is no ez replacement

Other Thoughts: extra heatsink are worth the investment or just go buy a zalman vga heatpipe for it b4 the fan burnout and cooks your card.

1 out of 5 eggsWould not recommend

Pros: None...

Cons: Fried my power supply within 20 min (400W), would not start up afterwards. Changed the power supply and tried to boot with the card and it wouldnt even turn on. Put the old video card in and lo and behold, it started right up.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend this card to anyone. Besides the fact that its old technology. It was only bought for a friends low end computer.
Currently working with Biostar to see if they will do anything about it since the RMA period with newegg is past.

4 out of 5 eggsHas its quirks, but great card

Pros: Unlocked to 16/6, which made it an amazing card for the price.

Cons: Heatsink that comes with it is terrible. It gets quite hot. After about 3 months use, one of the capacitors on it blew, I am in the process of trying to replace it.

Other Thoughts: Cheaply made, but can't beat the price.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent video card for the price.

Cons: May be an isolated case: the fan on mine has started making a very loud buzzing sound whenever the computer is first turned on, but after a minute or so it goes back to normal.
In 7 months I've twice gotten crashes resulting in random artifacts displayed on screen.

Other Thoughts: I just bought this to keep an aging AGP system running until I raise enough money for a new rig.
